Wow nice place and right across from the Atlantic! Big rooms and nice amenities!

I just stayed in Salthill Hotel on Saturday with my mother. It was, by far, the best service I have ever experienced in a hotel in Ireland. From the reception desk to the restaurant to the bar to every member of staff that smiled and greeted us on our stay, they were exceptional, and they made our stay what it was for us. Amazing. The food is also fabulous in the bar and restaurant. Highly recommend this hotel and most certainly will be back.

Can't give enough stars to the staff here. They couldn't do anymore for us to make our daughters 21st surprise birthday more enjoyable. Every single staff member became involved to make it so special. Thank you so much we will certainly be back. And the rooms were beautiful too. The food was outstanding. The only downside was having to leave 👌👌well done full marks.

Great hotel, fantastic location overlooking Galway bay. The best leisure club of any hotel anywhere in Ireland which includes a 25m pool. Very hard to fault.

Beautiful, relaxing hotel overlooking seafront. Very clean and Covid guidelines adhered to. Very pleasant staff, and breakfast, lunch and dinner were excellant. My daughter and boyfriend have already booked a weekend and l look foreward to another stay.

We have just returned from a 2 night stay, we had a lovely stay, the room was nice and clean. We had breakfast included and couldn’t fault it, we also ate in the bar on both nights, food was lovely and we were served quickly. All the staff were extremely friendly, and couldn’t do enough for us, a special mention to Aoife in the bar, she was great!
We’ll definitely be back again!

Absolutely Beautiful hotel,, friendly staff, food gorgeous, leisure centre was excellent and spotless… covid guidelines being adhered to throughout hotel which made us feel safe during our stay. Booking in system for pool and meals working really well.

Very helpful staff were lovely we had trouble with our room but they sorted straight away and move us to another room and a bottle of wine and we're very helpful.

Staff were very good room was excellent food was top class bar and reception were very cold and seatìng was outdated when we were there in Feb 2020 people were leaving the bar to go to their rooms to get their coats it was that cold.

We stayed in the salthill hotel in February really enjoyed it lovely big rooms spotless lots of toiletries in bathroom breakfast was very good dinner was gorgeous really tasty, staff were so friendly and helpful reception staff were so cheerful and nothing was too much trouble would highly recommend this hotel.

Greeted with a warm friendly staff member @the reception, room was spacious and clean with a superb view of Galway Bay, the bath room was elegant with a full shower and separate bath. Breakfast was once again meet with warm friendly invite from all the waitress staff and with a superior buffet style layout which I can not fault.

Gorgeous hotel, very pleasant staff and great food. Very welcoming and friendly with small children not my first time here and wont be the last. Only thing lacking is apartments that would have separate rooms otherwise 5 out of 5

Oh my god delighted people enjoyed this hotel but it has been hell for us. Like sleeping in a nightclub. In a family room first night we had wedding guests keeping us up from 3am to 6am screaming and shouting then the next night we could have had band in our room it was that loud. So expensive and so not worth it Og and then there were people st vending machine all night… worst hotel I have ever stayed in. Staff are lovely but owners are thieves. If you want to make your money from the bar do not sell family rooms! Disgraceful.

We stayed at The Salthill Hotel last weekend to attend a Wedding. Everything about the hotel was excellent. Probably the best for us was that ALL the staff we met throughout our stay were so helpful and friendly. A special mention for Ciara at reception who was so kind and helpful. Evening food in the bar was very good. Rooms (we stayed on the 2nd floor) were very clean, warm and quiet at night time. Easy access to everywhere. We highly recommend The Salthill Hotel.

My self and my daughter (her treat) stayed at this Beautiful hotel Monday night. Have to say from the moment I walked through to reception the decor took my breath away. It's absolutely beautiful. Bedroom very clean spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was first class. Staff very friendly and seemed to love working there. Very polite and friendly. Will definitely return… and as from now on when we visit Galway this will definitely be the hotel we will stay in. Would highly recommend it 100%

I cannot recommend this hotel enough, we came here for our elopement wedding and the staff have been amazing, we will definitely be back and can't wait to see the staff again.

Fantastic hotel with the best staff. Dealt with Sarah in reservations such a nice person to deal with. Peggy on reception Niall in the bar and also Dan plenty of other fabulous staff but they’re just a few names. Gorgeous rooms spotlessly clean and in a fantastic location.

Great spot friendly atmosphere busy hotel. A special word of praise to Jean Tyson a very busy lady but has time to greet people with a smile nothing a problem for this lady. Jean should be at Front of house meeting and greeting people. She would be an asset to any business. Because of her professionalism I keep coming back.

Really happy with this hotel. It is very modern and it is in a great location. The staff were very professional. The leisure centre is amazing. I recommend trying the hydropool. The breakfast buffet was very good.

We can't be happier with the service we received — Peggy is the most helpful receptionist! We were treated with care and affection from all staff throughout our entire stay! It's a thumbs up from Mum and Me!

Nice location from the promenade and easy access to beach. Rooms nicely serviced by maids. All staff was great from reception, to Prom restaurant to breakfast buffet. Easy to get cabs and we needed minibus and always arrived promptly. It is about 10-11 Euros from hotel to main area around Latin Quarter. It does add up. Rooms — 4 Star — spacious, had AC so very nice, beds good, bathrooms had great water pressure. Prom restaurant bar — 4 Stars — always vibrants. Had live band each of 4 days we stayed, good selection of beers, good TV’s. Breakfast — 2.5 Star — buffet lacking in fresh fruit and vegetables. Had scrambled eggs, over easy eggs, meats, few pastries, oatmeal, yogurt. You could order off the menu but limited items for our taste.

I just want to thank Steph, Rachel, Pauline and the entire team at Salthill hotel for helping us make our wedding day special. They really are as a hotel excellent at what they do and everyone from Steph, Rachel and Pauline to the servers, Jean and the breakfast servers, Ciara and the receptionists, bar staff, security, porters etc
They were all amazing and their customer service was second to none. Thank you all for making our weekend so memorable and looking forward to coming back to see you all in future

This hotel has a beautiful lobby and bar but it stops there. If you are unlucky and get stuck in the old part of the hotel and they send you to the back elevator. Rooms are old, stuffy and very hot! Worse hotel we stayed in Ireland and England. The pictures on the website are for the new section.

Very nicely located on the Outskirts of The city and by the Sea. Rooms very well furnished and very spacious. Staff are friendly and accommodating. The Way to the City is a short Walk. Everything is very clean and well maintained.

Really loved staying here. There was always a scene and something interesting and entertaining going on. Weddings held there both weekend nights. Very lively. The food was great and so was the service at the bar. They were helpful in setting up a tour for us. Great view of the sea from the room. No complaints whatsoever.

Nice hotel located on Galway bay. Large rooms. We had a awesome view of the bay. Food was delicious and the bar was great. The promenade located along the shore is just across the street from the hotel. Nice for a walk after dinner. Downtown Salthill is just a 10-15 minute walk.

I don't know if we didn't have any luck or anything: no toilet brooms. The food is not great, soundproofing not top. But good home.

Visited Hotel and Bar for deserved end of day treat after a work conference next door! Great, modern decour, big open spaces and fab gym and pool too. Worth a visit in picturesque Salthill.

We stayed here for 2 nights. Staff were friendly and the seaview room was spacious with a large bed. Breakfast was good. All in all a pleasant experience. Dinner was 5 star! Irish Fillet Steak 10/10 cooked to perfection.

Second time back in a few months. Beautiful seaview rooms to say the least and would love to be able to afford to stay more regularly Food is good and facilities are quite good but found it was a little understaffed at the bar/restaurant throughout the whole weekend. Main restaurant deserves credit for its top class food as it really was tasty. Tks all in all as we had a lovely break and by the way receptionist are great.

Salthill hotel was a pleasure to stay in. Located near pearse stadium with an underground car park, a pool and gym, a restaurant and well polished lobby floors to skid around in your socks. This hotel has it all. The staff were friendly but I think one of them, an American, who was half my age taught I was attempting to flirt with her. I wasn't, I just wanted a sandwich and a cup of coffee but I could tell she felt awkward and I in turn felt awkward realizing her assumption which may be a work hazard. The sandwich and the coffee were delightful but I fear for workers in the Irish hospitality industry who who may have unwritten expectations placed upon them. I blame modern Irish trade unions for this. Is not just for the film industry but a reasonable expectation of all workers. I can not blame the management at salt hill hotel, the American worker was rotated with another worker at the bill time. I applaud this. It can not just be about the safety and comfort of the customer, it must be about the staff as well.

Location is great and right by the water. Several sights are very close and it's just a $10 taxis to Quay street to enjoy the night life. Room was clean and several amenities available.

This is a beautiful hotel. With very clean spacious rooms. We could look out our window and see the promenade and sea. The leisure facilities are excellent with a huge 16 seater jacuzzi, steam room sauna and 2 large pools. Remember to bring flip flops and a swimming hat as these are 2.50€ and must be worn. Day afternoons seem very busy in the leisure centre but because there is a separate pool for children my swim wasn't interrupted. There is also an excellent gym. The rooms are well equipped with tea making facilities ironing equipment and an online TV. Hairdryers and Wi-Fi access throughout the hotel. All you would need for a perfectly relaxing stay.

For a four star hotel, I would expect that the rooms are slightly more soundproof than they actually were. There was a wedding reception the night we stayed and we could hear the music from our room. Eventually I fell asleep, but I would recommend checking in early, so you're not left with a room near the function area.

We are return customers to the Salthill hotel and this stay was even better than the 1st one. From the minute we arrived we had excellent service. The reception staff are extremely professional and welcoming, the food from breakfast to the restaurant was top quality. We stayed 4 days and had an absolute ball, cannot wait to come back and we would highly recommend. The bar was lively with lots of live music and sport on and the leisure facilities are 5*. We also had an upgraded sea view room with stunning views, all in all a great little holiday and top notch hotel.

Not what I thought. Room doors don't close properly. So, a drunk guy and a woman walked in the room at 3am who were partying down stairs. Drama! Place sounded like a college frat house due to Christmas party that went on until early morning. They should not be a 4 star hotel, all facilities close at 8pm, so if you are just traveling through, it is no use. I did bring these issues with the reception when checking out. They apologized, I doubt anything going to change. Room is clean and bed is just alright. Read Keith Hourigan's review below, it implies this place is more suitable for parties than spending a quite night.

We had a Christmas party at one of their function rooms. I must say that the Salthill Hotel was fantastic. It has a great bar in the lobby and the function rooms were very nice. I would recommend for anyone looking for a venue.

Was attending a Ball at this hotel, recently. The decor and food were superb. The doorman, who provides the first experience is friendly and efficient. In general, the staff are superb, with the exception of the small bar in the function room, where the three bartenders offered poor service. Upon having a word with the duty manager, Pauline, she improved things. The barman who tended the function room large bar, alone, was superb. All in all, a very good experience, and would visit again.

Great hotel for a weekend away or a longer ştay. On the seafront few minutes from Salthill, 15 minutes walk to city centre. Comfortable, great food, great atmosphere.

Nice room. Food was okay for Sunday lunch. Service was slow particularly as it was not particularly busy.

Nice hotel… Didn't have room with a view this time… Disappointed with that… Cups in room were glass with short handle very tricky to use when hot coffee or tea was in it! staff nice.

Despite a relatively quiet bar the service is slower than a funeral procession. Lots of staff faffing around moving glasses from one shelf to another while being oblivious to customers. Hopefully this is just a bad night as it typically gets good reviews.

We had our wedding here on 10th August. Everything was absolutely amazing! Valerie, Patrick and the rest of the hotel management and staff made sure our wedding ran smoothly. Every request we made was granted and the room looked spectacular. The food was so delicious, so many of our guests have been talking about it since and referring to it as the best meal they ever had! We would highly recommend the Salthill hotel to any other couple getting married.

Salthill Hotel is fantastic from the minute you walk into Reception — all receptionists are so welcoming regardless of how busy they are. The hotel is spotless everywhere. Very good food in bar. Dinner in The Prom Restaurant is 1St Class. All requests regardless how small are dealt with immediately. Can find no fault with this lovely hotel in a superb location overlooking Galway Bay.

This hotel is absolutely fab, from the lobby to the rooms the decor is unbelievable. Myself and my partner stayed here for 1 night on a monday. We were greeted at check in by a lovely friendly and very helpful lady. She informed us of the resturant opening times and also breakfast times. She also told us of we needed anything not to hesitate to call reception. The only fault we found was we got ready to dinner and proceded to the prom resturant where we were greeted by a lady that told us they were fully booked even though there were only about 5 tables occupied at the time. She never even offered us a seat at the bar which we would have more than happily accepted. It was a very wet monday evening and we then had to go to town to get a meal. Other than that I would have rated the hotel 5 stars.

I really had a great time the 2 nights I stayed here. The atmosphere was elegant yet down to earth and the staff very friendly. The spa area was nice and I enjoyed it the two times I visited. I'd definitely stay here again!

There was a long delay in getting us to our room upon check-in because the room wasn't ready yet, even though we arrived at about 3pm. However, the nice lady at the reception was very apologetic about it and even asked if we needed something to drink or eat when the delay had stretched beyond half an hour. We hadn't had lunch and were starving, so we told her we'd be going to the attached restaurant (Prom). The nice waiter at the restaurant brought us back to the reception so we could keep our bags there. The receptionist told us that the bellhop would move the bags to our room once it was ready. I could have sworn that the receptionist also told the waiter at this point that the lunch was to be complimentary due to the delay caused. But it didn't happen and we ended up paying the bill. However, this didn't really affect our overall experience of the place. It's a great hotel. Not very close to the city centre but the fact that it is on the seafront makes up for it. Liked the room, the bar and also the live music that played one of the evenings we were there.

My stay in this hotel was ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE. One reason why I hated the hotel stay was that you can only connect one device to the Wi-Fi per room; it’s not very fast either. Another reason for my hatred towards my stay was the breakfast, for one, the prize is dear; there isn't a wide verity of food, in my opinion. The main reason for the terrible experience of this hotel was the blaring music coming from a wedding below my room, the music was so load that you could feel the vibrations through the floor, and the unbearable music lasted long into the next morning. My brother who had a big test had to leave and go elsewhere for the night. The thing the annoyed me the most was the hotels willing less to do nothing about it. I definitely won't be returning to this hotel ever again and I would not suggest anyone else. I could go on to say more bad things about this hotel but I’m not bothered.

I am writing on behave of my sister who’s English is not the best and is by now back in Austria. I deeply regret having recommended this hotel for my sisters (and her daughter’s) overnight stay in Galway last week. When she returned from her excursion to Galway, he was so glad to be back as she had not slept much in the previous 48 hours. I don’t have 100% of the details but in essence the following is a summary of her experience in your premise: At the time of check-in they were called lucky, as they had gotten a very quiet room at the end of the hallway. However, as it turned out, there was some sort of party going on and as their room overlooked the exit / parking lot from about midnight onwards, there was no chance to sleep as “youngsters” where continuing to shout and sing loudly all night long. Around 3 am, there was loud banging on their door for considerable time as a completely drunk person tried to get into their room. Shortly thereafter this was followed by someone else banging on another door down the hallway, again, for prolonged time. At 6 am my sister finally gave in and got up to walk down to the beach. Crossing the entrance area she witnessed what she would describe as a pile of people, seemingly drunk and still loudly discussing various topics. When the checked out later that morning, they were asked if everything was OK with their stay.

Nice hotel with comfy pillows. Good food and nice service at the restaurant. Charge for Wi-Fi. Booo.
