Cheap hotels in West Papua

Vega is literally a couple of minutes walk from the airport so makes for great first or last day of a Raja Ampat trip. Nice big clean rooms with comfy beds and clean bedding.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Vega Hotel, a conference hotel conveniently located near the airport. The hotel offers clean, modern rooms equipped with excellent amenities.

I had the most incredible time on Scuba Republic’s 5-day dive safari. An absolute blast from start to finish.
Robin and Anggi, our guides, looked after us brilliantly.

I spent 5 days staying at Scuba Republic Raja Ampat doing fun dives around the nearby dive sites. I stayed in the hostel dorm which, for $30 per day, included 3 large meals.

In A Nutshell:
-Share the story of Methos.
-Methos’ father was a native fisherman from the Four Kings Islands, who was extremely poor.

Very beautiful location. Very good bungalows. Beautiful house reef. 2 villages within walking distance. Wide range of tours. Good food.

Really enjoyed my stay here. It is a simple but clean and comfortable little hotel. I heard a lot of people I met diving complain that they were too close to the mosque to get a good night's sleep.

This place is a godsend if you're trapped in Waisai. It's very basic (no hot water) but the electricity runs, the sheets are clean and the AC (if you want it) is strong.

This place is wonderful. The owner and staffs were very helpful. They are very hospitable and friendly. Rooms are very clean and comfortable. Location is very central.

After holidaying in Raja Ampat and returning to Sorong from Wasai by public ferry, my wife and I spent one night at the Favehotel in Sorong.

For a transit hotel, Fave Sorong is an excellent choice due to its convenient location near both the airport and the harbor.

Clean and big room. The staff kinda not friendly to kids but the kids were also very noisy so, it's just your normal adult to noisy kid interaction. No big issue.

The climate change took the Beach. Don't have access anymore. A lot of things getting broken. But still a nice and clean place and for 320.000 maybe the best place in Sorong.

Good place to stay for the price. The staff is friendly and can help organize transport around town.

Super nice hostel!
The whole infrastructure is very clean and beds are super comfortable.
They help you as much as possible with everything: arrival, departure, pick up, drop off, luggage.

Tapor Aikos is a wonderful homestay if you are looking for a truly authentic experience in Raja Ampat.

If you feel a little pinch when it's time to leave, it's because you've stayed in the right place!

This is an incredible homestay. The AC is cold, the breakfast is delicious, and the scooters she rents to guests are absolutely top notch. I would highly recommend this to anyone.

Husna is such a helpful and friendly host. She always replies quickly whenever she can.
The room is tidy and clean. There’s no window in the bathroom and bedroom so ventilation isn’t so good.

I had a wonderful stay. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. The room was comfortable and quiet, plus a comfy bed, so I had a restful sleep.

We had a very nice stay here. Adele and her staff are very nice and helpful! The room was very clean and confortable.

Wow! Such an incredible spot to chill and snorkel around. The family is very kind and food is good!

A lovely family-run homestay nestled in a small lagoon. The place is very clean, with excellent and plentiful food. The bungalows are new and well built.

Thanks to Ferdinand and all the Nyanse Family, we enjoyed a lot being there.
Good food, beautiful trips, the price is not expensive at all and they all treat us really good.

We really loved staying at Nyanse homestay!
Food is plentiful (3 main meals + snack time at 4:30pm), you will definitely not starve here and everything is delicious.

Today is my second day staying at this homestay. So far, it is the best and cleanest homestay I have ever stayed in Raja Ampat.

We loved our stay at Indos Homestay!

Stayed here in february 2025. The location is perfect, the reef just in front is gorgeus, full of fish an coral. The family is lovely, chilled and helpful.

Most beautiful place in hole raja ampat! The family is lovely and takes you wherever you want. The reef in front of the bungalows was one of our favourites in raja. We will definitely come back ♥️

Cozy and spacious over-water bungalows with great terrace (with hammock).
House reef is amazing — cuttlefish, turtles and carpet sharks can be seen from the terrace.

If you like to be surrounded by nature and stay over a beautiful reef, this is the right place! One of the best places on my trip to RA.

Best host in Waisai.
We really enjoyed our stay here for 3 weeks.
The place was very clean, well-maintained, and thoughtfully equipped with everything we needed.

This place is perfect for pre/post Raja Ampat island hopping.

Just wonderful! thank you so much.
Just try to improve service; we were on the boat trying to get to the shore calling the owners many times he never responded. Waited about an hour.

I loved it here. My favourite place in Raja. Amazing beach and great snorkelling right in front of the bungalow.

This place is a true gem! The hosts and their staff are just such lovely people. They’re super friendly, helpful, fun to hang out with.

I don't want to check out of our luxuriously comfortable room with an ocean view. I could happily live here.
