Padi Ecolodge

Staying at Padi Ecolodge was like waking up inside a dream. The setting is simply breathtaking, surrounded by the canyon, with a calm atmosphere that makes you instantly relax. Every morning, they prepare your breakfast just the way you like it, with several delicious options made fresh to order, truly a standout touch.
The room spotless, comfortable, and perfectly appointed, everything felt thoughtfully cared for. From the views to the spotlessly clean space, it’s one of those rare places where everything just clicks.

Great accommodation, friendly and helpful staff. You have to walk down a little concrete path through the rice fields to get to it and when you walk through the gates it's like a little oasis. There is a small restaurant with local and western options.

We absolutely loved staying at Padi Ecolodge. It is just outside of the city so you feel like you’re in a remote place, but the city is just five minutes away and you can even walk there! The staff at Padi were so kind. After my boyfriend got into a scooter accident and couldn’t walk, they brought breakfast and dinner up to us every day. The food was absolutely amazing and homemade. The room was so comfy with a great view. Padi felt like a home away from home and I definitely recommend staying her when you’re in Bukittinggi!

We had an amazing stay in Padi Ecolodge. The Lodge is close to Bukitinggi Centre but far enough to have a calm and quite experience. The rooms are luxurious with a cozy interior. The breakfast was good and enough. You have the choice between international and indonesian food. Jaka is such an helpful host and he will give you good recommendations about the area. West Sumatra in general is beautiful with its stunning landscapes. Hope to see again one day.

Had an amazing stay here. We had a room beneath the traditional Batak roof with a view of the rice fields. The whole stay is surrounded by green.
The restaurant has quality options, and I loved the Chai Massala tea.

Beautiful Minangkabau style lodge in the middle of the rice fields of the canyon, but still within walking distance of the center (clock tower, market, etc. ). Beautiful, bright rooms with minimalist furnishings, all with an outdoor area. Delicious breakfast included, but you can also order a simple lunch and/or dinner in the modest open-air restaurant. Super friendly and helpful staff. Without a doubt the most atmospheric place to stay in Bukittingi at the moment. Highly recommended!

I have been there in 2023. The place is heaven like and that s the sad part. It's a peace of heaven that has not been taken care of.
The food is not good : I wish I had the opportunity to eat the food prepared by the chef mentioned in the previous comments. Because all I had was meals I couldnt finish since the taste was very bad (very rare to eat so bad Indonesia). The cook doesn't speak English very well and didn't understand my request.
There is a karaoke bar near the place and it is a living hell. The noise is so loud that you cannot sleep. They sing loudly (and so badly) until 1 am at least EVERY DAMN NIGHT I WAS THERE.
I won't list all the things I didn't like but this is clearly a missed opportunity as this lodge is one the most beautiful if have seen in Indonesia and I believe lot of money was invested. The owner clearly need to review several things as the place has so much potential.
I am not coming back and I don't recommend this place unfortunately.

Beautiful place near Bukettingi in the valley. Great views, nice rooms and good breakfast. From the lodge you can walk through the valley or walk to the town. Jaka is very helpful with tips and arranging transport. We extended our stay because we loved it so much!

Super nice accomodation between palm trees and rice fields. It feels like a little paradies and just in walking distance of the city. We loved our 3 nights here so much we didn't want to leave. And also the staff is super friendly and helpful. We especially had a great time with Jaka, thank you so much for showing us around. Was great to meet you!

Best location to stay in Bukkitingi. Just steps away from the city you are in this little paradise. Beautiful surrounding, nice rooms and good food. And very friendly staff! Not only in helping you around, but also guiding you on a tour and they can arrange transportation from and towards the lodge.

We (family with 2 little kids) had the pleasure to stay for 4 nights at Padi Ecolodge in Feb’23. It was an amazing and beautiful place right in Ngarai Sianok itself. The staff are super friendly and helpful, the room was clean and cosy, and the food very delicious (the best Gado Gado! ). We felt totally relaxed and comfortable. It was within walking distance to Bukittinggi town and we also had a nice hike to Koto Gadang via the Great Wall. The only downside (not the fault of the accommodation) was the karaoke bar further down the road, from which we can hear singing till 4 am : (
Otherwise, we highly recommend staying at Padi :D.
