Kampung Sampireun is a very relaxing and tranquil "get away" for a few days. Rooms are well maintained, and any issues fixed promptly. Wi-Fi is great, hot water showers "to die for" given the cooler, high altitude climate. Two thumbs up. 👍 👍

We stayed two nights at Kalapalua Lake View on a weekday. Accessibility is good for city cars. The staff is friendly and helpful. The room is spacious and clean. Room amenities are good. Hotel internet is available. Because it was a weekday and there were not many guests, breakfast was only served a la carte with limited choices. I chose fried rice. The next day, the hotel was quite busy and there was a buffet breakfast with more choices, mainly Indonesian dishes. Room service (lunch and dinner) also generally featured traditional Sundanese dishes. We enjoyed the calm, beautiful, and cool atmosphere (17°C — 23°C) by taking a boat ride around the small lake on site and feeding the fish.

This resort's most striking feature is its captivating natural setting. The traditional Sundanese architecture, built over a serene lake, enable guest to be immersed in tranquil environment. The cottages and walkways, constructed from natural materials like bamboo and wood, beautifully integrated with the lush landscape. At night the sound of critters felt like nature's harmony. The accommodations, while rustic, able to provide a comfortable stay and sleep. The hot water is running well on my twin bed room. The room design encourages relaxation, with views of the water from nearly every angle and there is an unique experience of navigating the place by boat.
While the resort's ambiance indeed excellent, I noticed several areas required improvements. The food at the restaurant is a certain point of criticism, which I found quite expensive for the quality provided. Welcome drink is very sweet, almost too sweet for us. The facilities also showing signs of age and certain amenities, such as Wi-Fi is not strong and the room lighting is quite dim. Also since walls are made of bamboo, it's not soundproof. My parents woken up from the sound of morning prayers. The lack of air conditioning can make rooms feel stuffy when closed to prevent mosquitoes. So they need to focus on improving the quality and value of its culinary offerings.

I love our stays there, the serenity, the size of the rooms, the facilities are also great. Love that we could go around the lake with the boat.
Unfortunately the dinner we had was not so great, a bit too salty to our liking and too sweet. The chili sambal was very sweet instead of spicy.
But I would come back again.

The only downside was the restaurant served the food for too long, we had to wait almost an hour.
But aside that, the sceneries and other services were excellent.
Staffs are well-informed about the city, places to go etc.

Village atmosphere, nice lake view and houses/cottages inside the resort. Wide area and every corner is nice to take pics. Would love to comeback here again.

Fresh air, friendly fare, family path, favorite place.

Not well maintained and falling apart, a lot of roofs loose the reed cladding and are covered with plastic foil, not really clean, plastic bags swimming on the lake, public toilets are shabby, etc.
Update: Just ordered room service. Took them more than 1 hour to bring boiled eggs, fruit and a black coffee.
