Staying 3D2N at Waluran Suite Lake. Here're some review from our side:
🌿 The Highlights (What I Loved) :
— Stunning Surrounding Views: The resort is incredibly picturesque, peaceful, and surrounded by beautiful nature.
— Traditional Sampan Experience: The wooden boat service right by the lake was a delightful and unique highlight. You could also asked for their canoeing.
-Fun Fish Feeding: There are tons of hungry fish in the lake, and fish food is highly affordable at just IDR 10, 000 per bag.
-Traditional game and snack: They have some traditional game to be played near restaurant event though not that neatly displayed and passive services. They also have traditional gulali seller near lobby.
🍂 The Eco-Friendly Concept.
— Bear in mind as they're stated as eco-friendly. So No Air Conditioning: The rooms are designed to be eco-friendly and do not have AC units. But Thanks to the Garut mountain air, the room stayed naturally cool and comfortable.
— Natural Experience: expect you can randomly met bugs and reptile such as frogs in various places, even inside your bathroom.
🍳 The Breakfast Experience (So-So Variety)
-They have two Buffet Stations: The buffet offers two distinct sections, focusing on traditional local dishes and national favorites. Minus kids breakfast avariety like cereal.
— Two breakfast time, two different Experience: a Disappointing Day 1 (July 7) : as the selection was dominantly fish-based and quite spicy, which wasn't to our kids liking. The infused water also had a very weird taste, like unfresh cucumber being used.
-Better Day 2 Selection: The second morning had a much better variety of food options like squids and eggs, but unfortunately almost emptied nasi liwet was not being refill.
-Live Stations & Extras: They served consistent variety of donuts, bakery, pudding, cakes, warm fried snacks, cilok, and custom eggs (omelets and sunny-side-up) made fresh by request.
⚠️ Areas for Improvement (The Downsides)
-Poor Housekeeping: We stayed for 3 days and 2 nights, but the staff entirely skipped cleaning our room on the second day. They only clean up the leftover plates and bowls.
-Room Cleanliness Issues: There were quite a few spiderwebs inside the house, and the towels provided felt old or subpar.
-Bugs and Mosquitoes: Because of the natural lake environment, you absolutely need to bring your own bug spray as they only give you 1 electric bugs repellent eventhough your place have for 2 rooms.
-Cold Welcome Drinks: The traditional sekoteng ginger drink was served cold instead of warm at night.
-Cold Morning Appetizer Dishes: The morning surabi (traditional pancakes) were also served cold.
— Limited option for room entertainment: the national TV only got 1-2 good channel. The only entertainment was either Feeding fish, playing congklak or bring your kids tab as they provided Wi-Fi.
