Amazing place to stay in Pangandaran, Ciutar and Liz are the best hosts you could hope for and Baleku homestay is a lovely place. Really helpful about any needs or questions you have, great food and all the people that work around this place are really kind.
We booked for 2 nights but ended up staying around 10 days!
Advice : ask Ciutar about pigeons if you want to get introduced to a very interesting cultural part of Java.

Comfortable and basic accommodation with a beautiful view. The people are very friendly and the breakfast an dinner are delicious.
They also arranged a tour to the Green valley and green canyon, which was absolutely amazing, thanks to the great local tour guide.

Truly the best place I've stayed while in Java. A perfectly balanced homestay experience.
Let me explain:
Often you stay at a homestay and you're either disconnected from your host and their family, or you feel like you're living on top of them.
Baleku is the perfect mix. You get the privacy of your own bungalow, but also have as much opportunity to interact with the family as much as you want.
On site– they have several bungalow's on the property surrounding a small fish pond (the fish keep away the mosquitos). The rooms are very quiet, comfortable and private. There is no A/C, but the climate is mild enough that a fan is plenty at night.
The food was also a highlight – Līs (forgive my spelling) made some of the best food I've had in Indonesia. It was super tasty, clean, and cost friendly. I ate with Suta most nights.
Suta – the other host – also pigeon races (Merpati Tinggi). He was happy to teach me about his sport and even take me racing with some of his friends. A truly unforgettable experience with amazing hosts.
