Happy Monkeys Village

Awesome location! You can go to the Goa Tetes from here, just 2 min walking down. And 10 min away walking from the main entrance. The happy monkeys place is all surrounded by nature. They offer filtered water for free and breakfast included (fried rice with egg and a coffee). The staff is friendly, even though we didn't see them much. The bed is comfortable and clean, with a blanket. Good Wi-Fi. Kind of an open toilet. We had quite many insects inside the room, a mosquito net on the bed would be good to have. Two towels in the room and soap in the toilet, but they forgot the toilet paper. During the night the call to prayer gets really loud, impossible to sleep (3.30 am already). Good price for backpackers.

Great home stay, really friendly staff, great spot for exploring the waterfall. No aircon or fan in the room but honestly you don’t need it — visited in November and it was cold enough to want the blanket at night even though it was hot and sweaty during the day. Guy was great at getting us a lift on to Mount ijen after. Only thing was they asked what time we’d want breakfast when we went to bed. We said about 10am, and they agreed. Came back from the waterfall at 9:50, waited over an hour for someone for brekkie before giving up and going to the cafe up the road.

I had such a great stay here at Happy Monkeys village. The staff is very friendly, breakfast is very well served (coffee is amazing), the room was clean, comfy. Nothing was better than an outdoor shower under an orange sunset sky.
The location is perfect, right before the entry for Goa Têtes.
