Artha Cottages

Nice hotel offering chalet and room style accommodation. Comfortable modern amenities, clean rooms and nice pool. A bit away from the main village, so it is hard to go out for dinner unless you drove out or borrowed a scooter. I would not recommend walking out after dark as it is not a lit path. Limited food options for dinner at the onsite restaurant that is open for a limited number of hours for dinner. Breakfast buffet was simple with limited choices too.

The room was very small, outdated, and noisy. The bathroom was moldy. The hot water did not work very well. The Wi-Fi did not work 95% of time, the power went out 3 times in the middle of the night. The praying music was loud at 4 AM. The breakfast was poor with limited choice. They ran out of food even though we ate at 8 AM. The outside was nice but deceitful. They should have spent some of the money for the rooms instead of the outside.

Excellent for the price. The pool is magnificent but mind the treacherous steps into it!
We had no hot water but I'm rating a 5 as everything else including the staff was on point. Basic but tasty breakfast.
Pity the hotel doesn't have an upper deck to take advantage of the gorgeous view of Semeru!

Nice place! Rooms were basic butt nice and clean. The grounds are beautifully manicured and maintained. Awesome pool. All in all a great spot o stop.

Friendly staff, very nice and clean room, great facilities with beautiful pool. All of that in a wonderful nature setting.
Artha advised us a great driver and guide, Hamka, who stayed with us for 3 days while discovering the Bromo and Tumpak Sewu region. He is a very friendly and safe driver who shares a lot of great insights on culture and nature.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Artha Cottages, and I must say, it exceeded all my expectations. This beautiful chalet-type hotel is the perfect getaway from the usual tourist spots, offering an oasis of tranquility and charm.
🏡 Unique Accommodation: The individual white houses, each with its own private toilet and garden, provide an intimate and cozy atmosphere. I particularly loved the small garden in front of my spacious room, where I could bask in the sun and enjoy the serene surroundings.
🏊‍♂️ Amenities: The large pool is a fantastic place to relax and unwind, making every swim a refreshing experience.
🍽️ Exceptional Food: The dining experience here is unmatched. Every meal I’ve had at Artha Cottages has been exceptional. The portions are generous, the quality is top-notch, and the prices are very reasonable. The dinner menu is interesting, I saw japanese food, western food and local indonesian food. The fried noodles we ordered was not only delicious but also incredibly satisfying. Every food I had was too sweet and too saltish, but here was just nice.
👩‍💼 Outstanding Service: The staff here are incredibly polite, helpful, and always well-dressed. Their attentiveness and warm hospitality truly made my stay special.
I wholeheartedly recommend Artha Cottages for anyone looking for a peaceful and delightful retreat. No wonder some guests extend their stay for a few extra days – this place is simply that wonderful. I can’t wait for my next visit! 🌞🌿

Property is wonderful for the price. 10 minutes from waterfalls. Breakfast is good enough. However those young staffs need more energetic and experiences.

Nice little hotel with some view of Mt Semeru at the back.
This hotel is included in our tour package which is part of Bromo&Ijien trip and our rooms are in a building next to the main reception. Rooms are simple, some cleanliness need to improve.
Mattress need urgent change, as all mattresses in the 4 rooms sag/dip down in the middle. There is a small pool at the back of the main building with chalet rooms surrounded it. We took a peep inside the chalet room, they are nicer and slightly more luxury feel, we should have booked this if we were informed in advance by our tour company.
Breakfast is buffet, simple but nice Indonesian fried rice, Soto ayam etc.
However, the most basic eggs (eg. Fried egg) is not served yet guests need to pay 10, 000rupiah for it😕

It was a pleasant stay. Very small cottage looking rooms. Staffs very friendly and great location to travel to Tumpak Sewu.
My only two concerns are the shower in the bathroom kept on changing the temperature from hot to cold, it was kinda annoying. And the food menu there is kinda meh. I wish the hotel will serve more authentic indonesian meals than western foods. Not much to choose from, and same goes to their breakfast menu. Other than that, it was a great stay!

Any tourist coming here will be here for 1 reason — to se Sewu waterfalls.
The young staff are all very friendly. The rooms are decent with clean linens, a/c and hot water. (Shower valve reversed direction)
Even had a swimming pool about 10 meters long.
Food was acceptable.
Don’t expect a Marriott or Hilton in those parts of town.
Bargain prices and fun to explore the neighborhood.
