The garden within the resort is beautiful and romantic at night, and you can hear the soothing sound of waves while relaxing on the back terrace. The food is delicious. Had the best homestay at Java Turtle Lodge. We were very well taken care of and fed throughout our stay, the host’s wife is a very good cook! The host also helped arranged our trip to the turtle conservation. It was truly an experience to remember! We look forward to coming back when the pool is ready!

Our stay was simply fantastic.
The home stay itself is very clean, natural and cozy. The garden is done with a lot of thoughtful details and provides a soothing atmosphere. You can relax in the hammock or walk 200m to the beach. I loved how the very good meals are limited to a few local dishes because it’s authentic this way and more ecological. Please don’t expect a variety of 100 fancy dishes this wouldn’t fit there. Our food came with complimentary fresh cut fruit every time.
The owner Mr. Hadi gives back his earnings to the local community and the National Park by providing work and medical transport. My best wishes to him and all the staff!
Please do the whole Greenbay/Meru Betiri/Turtle tour! It is so worth it. A day I will never forget.

We've had a wonderful stay at the 'Java Turtle Homestay'! We loved the quiet and peaceful atmosphere and the ever smiling helpful staff! The rooms are very comfortable and have a beautiful and large shower with hot water. A big thanks and congratulations to Ba Hadi, owner of the homestay, who made everything by himself. He makes sure every guest is feeling well and organises trips or activities according to one's wishes. We liked the visit of a local dragon fruit plantation, the production of brown sugar and of course the jungle adventure to watch and release turtles!
Moreover, Ba Hadi is a very dedicated man for the local community. With the benefits of his homestay and activities, he helps orphans, provide school accessories, launches a local ambulance service, etc… We absolutely recommend Ba Hadi's Java Turtle Homestay!

One of the best travel experiences in my life :) Hadi is a wonderful host. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. Staff super friendly and helpful. Visiting Sukamade beach for turtle laying eggs is a once in a lifetime experience! We will never forget it. We really enjoyed our stay at Java Turtle Lodge. The rooms are clean, the staff is friendly, the food is very delicious, the tours we did where amazing (release baby turtles, visiting greenbay beach, driving through the jungle and seeing black and grey monkeys, hornbills and have breakfast at the river), there is a nice garden with hammocks and lovely seats. The lodges are even nicer than on the picture. Our stay in the turtle lodge was one of our highlights in East Java 🐢🐢

The stay at Java Turtle Lodge was awesome. Right after getting off the car after a tiring journey, we got a nice welcome from Hadi and his team and a very pretty room (incl. AC) with sweet private outdoor shower. Whenever your hungry, Hadi‘s team will prepare delicious Indonesian food for you and beverage supply (coconuts, beer and Softdrinks) is available. You can get unlimited water from a refill tank which is infront of your room.
The beach 🏖️ is very close to walk with super high waves and nice landscape. Be aware that swimming is not permitted here which is because of the strong tide and dangerous streams. Enjoy a beer here instead and the gorgeous sunset with super many fishing boats.
If you would like to book some activity such as going to the beach, jungle hike or the turtle watching tour at Sukamade, just tell Hadi and he will organize that for you right away. Our driver Wahyu, who brought us to the green beach bay (15 min from lodge) and sukamade national park was excellent and super kind. Hadi organized Oxta, a young guide for us who explained us all the details about the park, animals and the people that live there. We had a super fun time with both of them in the car, during coffee break in the park, and the turtle hatchery and turtle hike tour. Thanks a lot for that guys!
Actually it was possible for us to watch a big green sea turtle crawling off the sea. In the morning the baby turtles were released and it was a mangnificent experience.

I was so pleasantly surprised by this tour. I was traveling solo so I got to go on the jeep in the jungle with 2 guides and my driver. Everything happened on my request and they stopped a lot on the way so I could take pictures. I also visited the beautiful green bay, a secluded beach known to few tourists. We arrived at tge accomodation near sukamade where at 8pm we went to the beach with the rangers to search for the mama turtle. After about 1 hour waiting we found one! It was huge and amazing, laid 147 eggs and we could touch them and take videos etc. At 6 am we released the baby turtles in the ocean. It was a once in a lifetime experience and fully recommend! Hadi is a great host and Adi and Een are the best funniest guides! Also Rudi our driver was very professional. Will remember this forever! Ps: if you are used to luxury this might not be the activity for you.

If you have the time to make a little detour from the main touristic Java route, don't hesitate to visit this amazing place with wonderful people. The lodges are very nice, spacious and with new facilities. The food is amazing as well. And best of all, you can hear the ocean from your balcony. The people who run this place have a heart for their nature and community, and are more than willing to include you in this. I did a tour with them, which allowed me to see the giant turtles laying eggs on the beach at night. I would love to visit this place again! All the best from The Netherlands!
