Review of GETS Hotel 3*

THINK TWICE BEFORE BOOKING!
If you can still cancel, do it! This place is under heavy renovation which is not communicated to guests. I stayed here for three horrible nights and I deeply regret my choice. On the first day, I noticed many ants in my room which I told the receptionist before leaving for my sunrise tour at midnight so that it can be fixed by the time I come back around noon. Already on that evening while trying to sleep a bit before the tour I noticed some construction noises plus some very bass heavy music from nearby. When I came back, I was told that the ant problem was treated. Turns out that it wasn’t, but since I was so tired I just wanted to sleep for a bit. But no way, at 1PM some heavy drilling and banging starts right above my room (listen to the video! ), absolutely ridiculous that the receptionist did not mention a thing or even offered an apology. I immediately asked to be put in a different room only to find out that the noise was present there although to a lesser extent.
The other room was on the ground floor facing the courtyard with the pool and next to the staff area. Very nice to hear the rolling laundry trolley coming back and forth!
On my second and third morning, I woke up because of kids playing in the pool at. 6:30AM! It is astonishing that staff does not know enforce any pool opening hours in the interest of the guests trying to sleep. In general, I had the impression that most staff members were just lingering around, pretending to work a bit here and there. Room cleaning was done throughout the day rather than in a systematic way (the noise of the laundry trolley! ) and on my third day it was even forgotten at all. I also had the pleasant surprise of discovering pitch black water in my shower and toilet. The bathroom was a mess after the intervention by the technician and guess what, even after requesting the receptionists to order room cleaning since it was forgotten that day, housekeeping only cleaned the bathroom.
This stay was by far the worst stay at a hotel in a very long time. Management had absolutely no concern for the wellbeing and comfort of guests, staff seem indifferent to the current state of the hotel. Rooms are also quite worn out but that doesn’t justify drilling and banging throughout the day.
