Very nice hostel with a relaxed atmosphere. ZZZ Ijen Hostel stands out for its clean rooms, friendly and helpful staff, and well-organized Ijen tours. The common areas are cozy and perfect for meeting other travelers. Overall, it offers excellent value for money — highly recommended for a stay in Banyuwangi.

I had a wonderful stay at this hostel! From the moment I arrived, the staff made me feel welcome and were always friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well-organized, with secure lockers and cozy beds.

Had a great stay here! The location is perfect, the staff is super helpful, and everything was clean. Loved the atmosphere in the common areas – it’s really easy to meet people. Would definitely come back!

We were here for two nights. Thank you Adelle and all the staff for the help and the recommendations. Nothing to do close to this area, you have to take a grab to find a good coffee or a good place to eat. Good to stay few nights, not for a long stay. The cleaning could be done more.

I had a pleasant stay at ijen hostel. Truly a solid bargain! Best price in town for private bedroom with private bathroom, ac and Wi-Fi! The bed was comfortable and clean. I was able to sleep so well and was more than prepared to tackle Ijen. Theres a kitchen where you can make noodle, coffee etc.
What I found most compelling to leave a glowing review was the kindness of the receptionist staff. I called and explained my train would arrive at 4 am. He allowed me to check in early and when someone took the room, he let me crash on the couch upon arrival. That adequate rest was much needed. I was definitely touched by his kindness. Another staff was able to do sign language with hearing-impaired tenants. She was impressive. All staff would go above and beyond to assist you with travel needs, tour needs, even dietary request such as pasta to carb load before ijen hike.
There's also a guitar and ukulele in the house. I wished I could stay longer and jam with the German and Belgian ladies. We had so much fun! The house was cozy and the neighborhood was safe. Various tours pick customers from this location and gojek driver told me he often drove tourists to stay at zzz. There's a great restaurant 5 min walk with traditional healthy indo food such as roasted chicken and fish for 25k-50k.
Keep in mind this is a hostel and not 5 star hotels. The ac was adequate to cool you from Banyuwangi heat. If you're a polar bear who sets thermostat at home to 60F, you'll be disappointed.

Nice hostel with nice people :) they helped us book an Ijen tour which was very good.
Not sure if I use their shuttle service again though. We book through them shuttle to Canggu, and took more than 8 hours.
The driver drop out someone who went more far then us, and had to turn back to Canggu. I don’t think it was correct.

We had a great stay here.
Private room was a great size.
There was no hot water in our private bathroom, but there is in the shared facilities across the hall.
Hot and cold water provided from a cooler so reducing plastic waste 💪
Staff friendly, helped with Ijen tour and Bali shuttle.
Amazing value for money.

We had a fantastic stay at ZZZ Hostel! Bella was amazing – her communication was clear and super helpful, and she went above and beyond to organise everything we needed for our Mount Ijen climb. The hostel itself was comfortable and welcoming, and we couldn’t have asked for a better base. Highly recommend to anyone visiting Banyuwangi.

Aurora, Keys, Rama and staff at Zzz Ijen Hostel were so friendly and accommodating during our stay. They helped organise our sunrise hike up Mt Ijen to see the blue fire, the crater as well as seeing the sunrise from up top. Aurora also let us rent some hiking boots for the trip for a cheap price, which was super convenient for us (you need hiking boots for this trip, especially if it rains! ).
Our other favourite part was the hostel cat, Chilli, who was so cute and cuddly, she is a 3 legged champion.
They also arranged a shuttle back to Bali at the end of our trip for a cheap price, which made our trip so stress free.
Do note that there is a mosque nearby and they do prayers often throughout the day and night, but this should not be a deterrent at all as it doesn't last long.

Staff are friendly but we upgraded to a private room which turned out to have no hot water, a toilet that doesn’t flush and the door only locks with a padlock.
Stayed here as part of the 4D3N tour booked through Zzz. Was dropped off after an 8 hour long and uncomfortable journey at 7.30pm and given an 11pm pickup time for the Mount Ijen tour, giving us 3.5 hours to eat, wash and sleep.
After the Mount Ijen tour we are given a pickup time of between 11am — 1pm for our transfer to Bali we booked through the hostel. We asked for a more accurate time to allow us to plan a much needed sleep but were told this wasn’t possible. The bus turned up at 10.45am.
The bus was overbooked and cramped which was rectified by us having to pull over and wait an hour for another bus to take three of the passengers from ours.
It took us 2 hours to get to the ferry port (9km) and a further 2 hours to actually get on the ferry. In total it took us 12 hours to get from the hostel to Densepar.

Couldn’t fault this hostel at all! After being stranded in Surabaya (some bad planning from ourselves) we got in contact with the hostel and they managed to provide transport for us to get to the hostel very last minute, with constant communication making sure everything was alright and we were safe (which as two girls was very reassuring). They also managed last minute transport to Bali the next day too for a very good price. The hostel itself is very clean and cosy, we weren’t there long enough to check out the location but will be going back to do the Ijen tour through them as we can’t fault their organisation and kindness.
