Review of Hotel O Gurita 2*

6/10
My mistake in choosing this hotel was that I didn’t carefully read the booking information and only looked at the rating and the low price (even though from the beginning it already felt too cheap to be true).
This old hotel, located in a hotel district near Tirtonadi Bus Terminal and Solo Balapan Train Station, is actually fairly decent. However, I would not recommend it to anyone who values quiet — comfort place and good facilities. I spent three nights in a room located right by the main road — far from quiet and calm. The air conditioner only became cool at night, and the shower (which was broken) was replaced with a large bucket — truly beyond my expectations.
When I asked about breakfast time, the staff replied, “Breakfast is only tea and a snack that will be delivered to your room. ” I was quite surprised, as adding a breakfast package for tens of thousands of rupiah only got me tea and a snack. Later in the day, a room boy knocked on my door and delivered a boxed rice meal, explaining that this breakfast came from the booking application, not from the hotel itself. What kind of management operates without this level of coordination?
To make matters worse, there were no spoons, forks, or eating utensils provided, and the vegetables were already slightly spoiled. I had written my complaint and request on a tissue paper, but until I checked out on the third day, there was still no improvement.
If you are coming to Solo for vacation, relaxation, or healing, I strongly do not recommend this hotel. However, if you are visiting Solo for work and simply looking for a budget hotel, you may give it a try.
Thank you.
