This was my first stay at Plaza Hotel Semarang, and unfortunately, it was a very disappointing experience.
When I entered the room, there was a strong musty smell, making the room feel unpleasant. The bathtub in the bathroom was also stained with visible limescale and looked poorly maintained.
The biggest issue was the housekeeping service. The staff entered my room without knocking or waiting for a response. I was still asleep when they came in. Their explanation was that they did not check the room status before entering, which is completely unacceptable and shows a lack of basic housekeeping procedures and respect for guest privacy.
The food was also disappointing. The duck dish had a strong fishy smell, making it unpleasant to eat. The fried noodles were advertised as being made with flour noodles, but they were actually instant Indomie noodles, which was misleading.
Overall, my first experience at Plaza Hotel Semarang was far below my expectations. The poor room condition, lack of housekeeping professionalism, and disappointing food quality made this stay very unpleasant. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.
