ARTOTEL Gajahmada Semarang

I've always choose ARTOTEL Gajahmada on my trip to Semarang for business or casual trip. But for this one trip ARTOTEL sure got my heart.
Being on business trip away from your hometown on your birthday surely gives you an uneasy lonely feeling. But when I checked in the staff notice my birthday and I was only joking if there's a cake or something, and then she gave me a pizza for free. That's truly awesome experience and great service that makes me happy.
11/10 truly recommend, my favorite place to stay in Semarang no cap.

So far almost excellent.
The location ok, only the car park is tiny, need ask valet parking (for traveler who stayed is free).
The room like old, but still ok. Need improve again with the price.
Service is 5 stars.

I visited this hotel in September with my husband for a business trip. All the staff were friendly, helpful, and very polite. However, the breakfast food was quite bland and lacked seasoning, though the variety of food and beverage options was good.
Overall, I love the ambiance, the art, the service, and everything about this hotel, worth the money. I hope to come back again with an improved food experience, both at the hotel and in Semarang in general.

Hotel entrance was very small, hotel lobby was uncomfortably hot. Room was okay and clean with generally small twin bed.
After my arrival, I was planning to go outside and ask the staff which way is out. She guide us to car entrance which was tiny aisle, with no concern that we can be hit by car.
Breakfast was quiet disappointing, porridge was no where near warm, ordered omelette same thing happened.

Vehicle access is weird with something like a porte cochere on the first floor. Pedestrian access is stranger with the simplest being to go to the car park and walk out through its vehicle access. We arrived before check-in time and, whereas many hotels will let you check in early if your room is ready, we were firmly told that check in was not until 2pm. The towels in the bathroom were a bit grey. We had dinner at the hotel and service was very slow. Despite that, when my meal arrived, it was cold. The mini rice padi on the roof was interesting.

Nice ambience in the room, clean and bright with big window, love it! Great service provided with free laundry for 5 piece per day. They even delivered my dinner to my room. All staff are nice and very helpful which is great. They made our stay very comfortable.
The down side is very limited parking lot. If you bring a car, or if friends/families visit you driving a car, parking and car access is such a nuisance.
Please just provide hot water kettle in the room so we can actually brew some tea. No need for fancy coffee capsule (which didnt taste great).

The Art Hotel in Semarang enjoys a very good location. The old town is about a 30-minute walk away, while two premium shopping malls are roughly 20 minutes on foot. The interior is modern, decorated with contemporary artwork, and offers a comfortable, relaxing atmosphere. It feels cosy rather than grand, which works in its favour — you can enjoy a more personal connection with the staff, all of whom were extremely friendly and accommodating.
Breakfast is good and highlights Indonesian cuisine. The rooftop bar is a pleasant, quiet spot to spend time, and during my stay it remained peaceful. Each room is unique, featuring large artworks that give character. The rooms are not large, but they are big enough, with contemporary bathrooms and fresh towels provided daily. Services include laundry, though dry cleaning is on the pricey side.
The inclusion of an evening meal is convenient, though the menu differs from the hotel’s main restaurant and can become a little repetitive over time.
Overall, I would recommend The Art Hotel for its excellent service at a very reasonable price. For me, the staff are its greatest asset — they are so warm and amenable that they make you feel completely at ease.

Spent a night in this boutique Hotel and was surprised by the interior design which is very comfortable. Had also a dinner and next morning a breakfast, all well managed and service was fast and very friendly. Very probably will consider to stay there again once to Semarang as not far from Simpang Lima Icon Square. Thank you 🙏

It was amazing. We got upgraded from normal room to suite room. The experience was very amazing, we had such a great time for staying for 1 night. The room is spacious, clean, and has dining table also. The facility already included breakfast and it was good. Lot of variant, from local cuisine until American style breakfast.

During our "Mudik" trip, we stopped by Semarang and stayed at Artotel Gajah Mada. The service was excellent, from check-in to check-out. The staff were friendly and made us feel comfortable, even though we stayed for just one night. The breakfast had a good variety, and the free valet service for guests with cars was really helpful. Wishing Artotel Gajah Mada continued success!

Located right in the center of Semarang, making it easy to reach places. Every corner of the hotel is clean and well maintained which is great since this is not a brand new hotel. I have been here several time and even their smallest room quite spacious and doesnt feel cramped. But the one that make this hotel shine are their staff, at the moment we got at this hotel we got greeted with smile, check in process was quick and efficient,
We could feel their hospitality and sincerity on serving the guests.
We got lucky on our last stay getting upgraded to the suite on weekend by the male receptionist, we forgot to ask the name but thank you very much sir! It was such a pleasant surprise for our family.
The only negative side is the drop off passage is narrow and not too much parking space, but if you dont travel using car this shouldnt be a problem at all.

Very friendly staff. We got an upgrade for our room. The size of the room is really big and clean. It is like a bigsize apartment. Really worth visiting. The art deco in the reception is amazing. Enjoy.

I was in Semarang for working trip. My travel agent suggested to stay in Artotel Gajahmada. I have stayed there for 15 days. During my stay, overall I felt satisfied. I love the design of the hotel, it was so chic, modern, and full of art even up to my room. It was so comfortable in every way. I was highly impressed with its clean and comfortable rooms and additional facilities. The maid always ensured my room immaculate and she even lined up my skincare in the table neatly. The food and beverages were very good. I was impressed by all of staff, especially Mr. Miza Ardhi during my everyday breakfast. He was able to arrange everything I need, very helpful, the service was excellent. Highly recommended!

This is my multi time stay. The hotel keep high standard of service, cleaning as good as before. This time, I am surprise they remember I requested a hair dryer before and specially prepare it while I book my room. I feeling they are continue upgrading their service and is a good way to growth!
