The Sidji Hotel

If you love staying at a hotel with a rich cultural heritage vibe, this is exactly what you’re looking for.
​However, as someone who typically stays for 3–6 days, I found The Sidji Hotel wasn’t quite the right 'go-to' choice for me. I usually travel with my family, and I felt the hotel wasn't particularly kid-friendly, mainly due to the limited food variety (and some other reasons you'll find below). Even during the end of Ramadan, a hotel should ideally provide enough options for families. Since we stayed during the holiday season, I understand why choices might have been limited for my children's breakfast, though I didn't try the Suhoor menu.
​A few other concerns: The restaurant's smoking and non-smoking areas have no physical border, allowing smoke to drift. Also, the lack of a bidet spray (hose) made it very difficult to clean my young child; the built-in seat spray is fine for adults but not practical for kids.
Finally, the hallways aren't soundproof as I could clearly hear every trolley passing in front of my door. The room itself didn't sound proof and noises from neighbouring room could be heard quite loud.
Update: I tried Suhoor menu and they're very good! Very recommended. A bunch of options were available for Suhoor and I enjoyed a lot.

I stayed in a suite room with my two kids. The room itself is old and a bit worn, but I truly appreciate how well it’s maintained—it’s still comfortable, and you can see the effort put into keeping it that way.
My main concern is the bathroom. After the first shower, I noticed that when water splashes out of the bathtub, it creates a small flood on the bathroom floor. The floor seems quite flat and may not have the ideal slope for water to drain quickly.
Additionally, the type of marble used becomes quite slippery when wet.
I understand the intention behind placing a rubber mat on the floor to prevent slipping. However, the mat tends to trap dirt, and when water flows over it—bringing along residue that seems to appear unexpectedly—it becomes a bit disturbing and affects the overall cleanliness experience.
Aside from that, everything else was good. I especially noticed the new towels—so fluffy, bright white, and pleasantly scented. A lovely touch!

Room for improvements:
Overall the suite room is nice but it is already showing its age eg. The wallpapers are peeling.
The bathroom and its facilities are the area that need improvements the most.
Although it is clean overall, sometimes there is a mild sewerage smell from the plumbing. We had to spray the room with eucalyptus spray to mask the smell. The towels look worn and grey, not white and fluffy. For a suite room, we expect much better quality. The shower screen is showing yellowish stain at the bottom. This can be easily cleaned with bleach.
BTW… we didn't try the breakfast as we prefer to sample the local food outside the hotel.
Would we stay again? Probably but we would ask for better towels and get the shower screen replaced otherwise we will drive an hour to stay in Semarang.

I never experienced a ultimate hospitality service as I stayed few days at Sidji Hotel. Since the day I checked in, and the day I checked out. The staff were amazing! Few of them remember my name, every single day, everytime I passed them by, they always greet me by call my name. And they were helpful to at least recommend me few places to go cycling, and must try culinary in the city.
The property is beautifully managed. The room and all the amenities was good as you can see on their photos. The breakfast basic but delicious. They served at 6 but actually I went down to their restaurant at 5.30 and the food is all ready! Oh, they also concerned about environment, so there are water dispenser on few spots, so you just refill your own bottle. Less plastic used. And the last thing is, I requested to have late check out, because I had to pack & send my bike to cargo service, they gave me extra one hour!
I also introduced to the owner by the general manager, who lead the team to give excellent services! Thank you pak Ardi, mas Oji, mbak Ayu, mbak Nanda, mbak Vina, mbak Ana, and for the rest that I cant mention more. :D.
As you can read, I got really tremendous experience!
So, if you have plan visit Pekalongan, you should stay here.

I had such a lovely stay at The Sidji Hotel. The staff were warm and welcoming, the food was delicious, and the heritage touches around the property made it feel special. My room was clean, comfortable, and perfect for a good night’s rest. I’d happily come back again.

Good service and very friendly staff members. The food during breakfast is very nice and whenever you have any questions or concerns people go out of their way to assist you immediately. I would definitely come back every time I visit Pekalongan.

I have stayed many times in the Sidji Hotel.
The location is in the center so we can walk around the city.
The staffs are helpful and friendly.
The ambience is good.
And the restaurant is also a good place to invite friends and Dine together.
Overall this hotel si very good.
My only suggestions is the pillows are too high for me.

I recently stayed at Sidji Hotel Pekalongan and had a wonderful experience. I highly recommend Sidji Hotel Pekalongan to anyone looking for a comfortable and affordable stay in Pekalongan.

As a foreigner visiting Pekalongan I'd recommend this Hotel. The staff are extremely polite and helpful. Rooms are clean and ice cold if you want. The food is really delicious as I'd recommend the rendang sapi. Furthermore, there's a big grocery store right in front of the hotel for all your needs. All in all a good hotel!

The authentic place to stay in Pekalongan with modern room and great service.
I love their breakfast, they served jamu and traditional desserts. Not to mention their strategic location. I explored the area only by walking distance.

Best location, near Alun² (town square), Batik Market and culanary center.

The Sidji Hotel is our most favourite hotel in Pekalongan, Central Java, Indonesia. The classic old oriental mixed with the local culture, make this heritage hotel memorable. The price is also affordable for any travellers. My family and friends feel hommy staying in this hotel with its friendly staffs and the hospitality of this hotel is excellent.

We had a lovely stay! Our room was comfy, clean and we had service every day. The receptionist team was very friendly and professional. I liked the lobby area because there is so much old furniture. The breakfast and service was nice and fast, I like jamu kunyit asam & beras kencur that you served us in the breakfast. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Located just 1 km from the Pekalongan train station, 120 rupees by taxi or you can make prior arrangement for pick up by the hotel trishaw! To me, it is like a five star hotel in Pekalongan. Handsomely built with suite (few Presidents and dignitaries of Indonesia stayed here before), ball room, meeting room, gym, swimming pool. The staff are well trained, very helpful and friendly! The meals in the restaurant are just superbly cooked! Breakfast with home brewed herbal drinks are very special! What a relaxing place with great food! Thank you for the warmth, helpfulness beyond duty and hospitality to the staff and host, Yanti! Much appreciated. Highly recommended for anyone who wish to stay in Pekalongan. The beautiful batik shop is just next door!
