Eco Casa

We are writing this review based on the price payed and its previous reviews (most of them of 5 stars).
We loved our 3 nights in Karimunjawa. The resort is incredibly well placed, and its facilities are beautiful. Ester and Stefano are really nice and helpful, and their staff is magnificent.
Nevertheless, we believe that for the price payed (nearly double than most of the good hotels we stayed in Indonesia), and with the amazing reviews, they still have margin for improvement.
The rooms are big and comfortable and are reasonably clean. Nevertheless, on the top of the bed’s canopy there was plenty of dust, and dead insects, including a lizard. It was not a big issue, but still, they should be more careful. The air conditioning was not too strong, so it can be quite hot despite having it on for a lot of hours. The room didn’t really have an insect net, although the canopy could like one, but using it all throughout the night was impossible due to the high temperature inside the bed when it was closed.
Regarding the food: dinner menu is good, the grilled fish they offer is really worth it.
Breakfast is good. Nevertheless, we believe the quantities are quite reduced, and we feel that not including an espresso or a cappuccino, and a juice (less than 1 euro each) is not acceptable for the price you pay (on the high range in Indonesia as mentioned before).

We had an amazing stay at Eco Casa! That was the first part of our Indonesia trip and our honeymoon. The owners — Ester and Stefano are super nice and helpful couple! If we needed to change some plans (changing from scooters to rental of a car) they have managed it in one hour :) all the staff working with them is also kind and you can always have a nice chat with them. We felt taken care of. The bungalows are perfectly located on palm beach right under beautiful, blue sea. You can do snorkelling trips and others from their place as well as book a massage. And what is really important — food is amazing :) both Indonesian and Italian (I loved theirs carbonara 😍), grilled fish and calamari are also super tasty! You don’t really need to dine in the town — you have got everything at their place.

Beautifully Basic!
We visited in April for Eid, for 10days, with two kids. We got the family suit (which is two en-suit rooms — joint but the outside balcony)
The whole holiday was amazing! Couldn’t have asked for a better holiday!
BUT Don’t expect luxury, it’s an eco friendly island bungalow on the beach, — it is comfortable, you have everything you need. Comfortable bed, nice warm shower, good food! (But no unnecessary extras like toiletries or hairdryers)
Only recommendation would be to put tea and coffee in the rooms (I understand we are trying to eliminate plastic) but maybe in small jars?
Anyways overall the best most relaxing place. We really enjoyed staying here and Estee and her husband (the Italian couple that run the resort) are incredible, so helpful, kind and made the holiday so much more enjoyable.

Uh, long journey but worth it!
The owners are an Italian couple who is very friendly and informative.
This feels like like a private beach because it seems quiet and has only the guests who are swimming around the beach.
The food is fine.
The room is very decent.
If you like calm, quiet, nature with the best view, this is something you need to consider. "
