Basa Basi is a hidden gem on Karimunjawa Island. If you’re looking for an authentic Indonesian island experience, this is it.
The beautiful traditional bamboo cottages are full of character, surrounded by lush tropical gardens, and are the perfect place to relax after a day exploring the island.
Annette and her wonderful team made us feel so welcome. The accommodation is excellent value, and the included breakfast was outstanding—from the delicious coconut pancakes to the freshly baked sourdough, everything was 10/10.
We absolutely loved our stay and wouldn’t hesitate to come back. If you’re visiting Karimunjawa, put Basa Basi at the top of your list.

A beautiful place with super friendly staff. They were incredibly helpful with booking the boat since almost everything was sold out. We stayed in the Villa, a lovely place equipped with all the amenities. Highly recommended!

We were with 4 persons in ''the Residence''. Spacious and very private accommodation with 2 bedrooms and a good breakfast, so in general we had a good stay. The only con was that that in one of the bedrooms the airconditioning was not cold enough (the LG one). There is a fan provided and we used that in the bedroom so we still had a comfortable sleep. The airconditioning in the other bedroom worked well though and was cold.
Update to owner's response: the airconditioning is broke or needs to be serviced. It's not because of the wrong mode or settings. I know how an airconditioning works, I'm not stupid.
