Gedhong Hostel

This hostel is great! Really nice and clean, great showers. Lovely big beds and it was nice being in a 4 bed dorm. Also has a pool which was super nice. The owners are lovely and super helpful. Great location close to restaurants and the port. Cannot recommend enough!

I spent a few days over there, discovering Penida Island.
Is a strategic point when you arrive from Bali with the Ferry, close by walking distance.
2 lovely places to eat nearby (a restaurant and a coffee-snack).
They have a swimming pool which I loved, at a perfect temperature.
They were very helpful, the breaky options are plenty enough (more quantity than other expansive places I was bf)
Just If you plan to do a tour of the island I highly recommend you to go early like 6-7am. Before all the massive tourism.
Otherwise the magic of the landscapes will disappear… ✨
The room and bathroom was tidy.

We stayed for 3 nights for our scuba diving/sightseeing trip. The service was absolutely wonderful and the staff went above and beyond to make our stay as easy as possible.
The rooms were clean and had A/C with a private bathroom and our reservation included breakfast which was a nice bonus.
The staff aided us in booking a day tour and our return ferry tickets. Both of which were a better price than if we were to have booked it ourselves.
There’s also a nice western restaurant nearby named “NEMU Kitchen” that has great food and is open late into the evening.

Booked 3 nights at this Hostel, but upon my arrival there was nobody there. They had closed the Hostel for the Festival on the 25th of September and didn‘t bother to cancel my booking or let me know. Was very disappointed as I was travelling alone and had to find a new Hotel late in the afternoon.

Great place with really nice owners, always available for you. Good Wi-Fi connection. You can rent a scooter as well.
The breakfast is tasty with some alternatives.

My best stay so far! My highlight were the owners of the hostel! They are very kind and understanding, helped in every aspect and made me feel very welcome.
The hostel ist very sweet and rather small, which allows some familiarity. The beds are comfortable, the rooms are clean and have an AC and the shower has hot water with lots of pressure. The breakfast is freshly cooked, I recommend the banana pancakes.
At the hostel you can book tours and rent scooters for a very fair price. You can reach the Beach Bars area within 15 min by scooter.
When visiting Nusa Penida, I would definitely come here again!

The place was managed by Wayan and her husband, very charming a happy people, they offer all the services from renting a scooter or organising boat trips, it’s very convenient and not overpriced. The rooms are very clean, the beds are big and comfy, there is a wardrobe with key and a small bedside compartment with a plug for your charger, very convenient.
I love drinking tea and always bring mines with me, although The kitchen is not accesible for guests to use, if you ask them for hot water they will happily provide you with.
The Pool was nice.
Thank overall a very pleasant stay and would recommend them!

10/10. Initially booked for a few nights and stayed over a month while doing my IDC at Purple Dive (25min walk). Super homely, clean, pool, friendly owners. I didn't want to leave!

Close to the harbours, you can easily walk there. There is a private bathroom in the dorm and they look clean, even if I did not see them changing the brown blanket at checkout.
The atmosphere was often off as it seems the owner gets upset if you don't buy their tours and they were loud. Also make sure to agree on checkout time: online it said 11.30 but again the owner got upset when I cleared the room at 11.20

Very economical and very friendly owner family, helpful on suggestions of tour packages, very clean place and well maintained swimming pool, free breakfast is a very good deal and they provided coffee cakes in evening for free as an goodwill.

ABSOLUTELY LOVE! on our second night here and just extended it for a 3rd night. Staff are wonderfully helpful, breakfast is nice & the free water is great. The rooms are spacious and clean — we’re in a 4 bed mixed dorm ensuite and for the price this place is fantastic; shower has hot water, double sinks and the beds are small doubles (which is rare in hostels) the AC is also great.
Its a quiet hostel and the location isnt fantastic but you can rent bikes and book tours through the staff here for a very good price, they teach you how to use the scooters and they’ll organise tickets to tours for you.
Only a 17 minute drive from the port and a 45 minute drive to Kelinking beach.

Had this booked a month in advance and then THE DAY before I get on the plane they cancelled my reservation. Talk about screwing someone over, scrambled to find a place last minute and got a terrible deal cause of it. When I asked why they cancelled my reservation they replied in gibberish that didnt even make sense. Wouldnt trust them as far as I could throw them.

I have to give a 5 star review for this Hostel — even without staying there! I went there to hire a scooter and the owner/manager Sibuk was amazing. Helping me out with so many things. You can just tell when someone is genuinely nice. The location is right next to the main road so you can easily rent a bike and go wherever you want to.

I had an amazing stay at Gedhong. The owners are incredibly friendly and will help you book any tours, scooter rentals or ferries. The beds are comfy and the whole property is kept very clean. It’s a great mix between quiet and social, as there are dorms and private rooms. The free breakfast is small and simple, but it’s all you need and the pool is a huge plus!

The hostel was lovely and the hosts made it very welcoming — very helpful! The pool is lovely and warm — we stayed in private room! It was beautiful — fantastic value for money, would definitely return.
