DO NOT BOOK THIS PLACE!
I came in 2024 for a few days and had a great time. Loved it so much that in addition to booking it again for this year, I brought friends who booked also through booking. Com.
The day we arrived in Nusa Penida on the speedboat, we drove straight to diamond Beach and headed back to the hotel after breakfast.
I asked our contact to connect with the hotel and ask them to turn on the air-conditioning for us prior to us arriving. He could not get a hold of anyone, but he knew somebody who worked there. She gave him the owner’s number and that’s when the nightmare happened.
He told our driver that the ACs don’t work, there isn’t any hot water on the property, there isn’t any breakfast, there isn’t any staff on site, and that he is only renting to local people through Airbnb. If we chose to stay, it was pretty much on our own.
Then he proceeded to tell us that if we wanted to, he will sell the property to us for 10billion rupiah!
Then the nightmare continued. We drove all over to try to find a new place. Luckily we did, but I urge you not rent here!
He sounded very violent, angry and hostile when he got on the phone with us. When we asked for a refund, he told us to connect with booking. Com because it was not his problem.
Totally unprofessional and disrespectful.
It is a shame because the property is absolutely beautiful, and I was really looking forward to showing my friends the beauty of overlooking the ocean from the balconies. 😮‍💨

Beautiful view with pool & good breakfast but needs serious maintenance. Our room’s door wasn’t sealed at all and there was a two inch gap that tons of mosquitos and other bug flew in from. No bug net or repellent so even with coating ourselves at night, we would find bites on our foreheads, ect. We found mysterious droppings all over the room and our belongings. Toilet flush broke and a stair literally collapsed underneath us as we were checking out. Was told there wasn’t hot water when we checked in which wasn’t a deal breaker but kind of wish we would’ve known when booking.

I can only describe this experience as terrible. The bedding was damp, there was no shampoo provided, and the bathroom had a drainage issue, causing water to accumulate. The hotel is located halfway up a mountain, so getting down takes a long time. There are no taxis on the island, and transportation options are mostly limited to private car hires, which essentially leaves you stranded at the hotel with no way to explore. Moreover, there are no nearby dining options—there’s only one restaurant at the foot of the mountain, which requires you to walk down and then climb back up entirely on your own.
The hotel looks great in photos on Google Maps and other booking websites, but the reality is far from it. The rooms are extremely cramped and poorly maintained. Inside, the lighting is so dim that even during the day, turning on the lights doesn’t help much—it’s hard to see anything clearly.
Judging by its inflated ratings on Google Maps and booking websites, it feels like the reviews are not genuine. Given the actual experience, it’s hard to understand why the price is so high.

View from hotel is good but it is uphill and there are no staff at night. They had limited breakfast item and once I asked that, the hotel manager suddenly came in with a rude behaviour he started shouting. He mentioned that ‘I’m the Manager here’ almost 25 times. His behaviour is very bad. Other staff are good. AC doesn’t work properly and bathroom shower was also not functioning properly. Not recommend at all.

Simply loved this hotel. Be it hygiene, staff, location, rooms everything… one of the staff Nita came to know that I have a bad cold so she made me a nice glass of Lemon Water which helped me heal… it was extremely courteous of Nita to perform this gesture… My phone Adapter stopped working so the staff helped me with a spare one which many hotels refrain from doing… Will always stay here if we visit Nusa Penida again.

I am very disappointed with the. Here are the issues we’ve encountered:
1. The AC and fridge are not working.
2. The tap water flow is very weak.
3. The water in the bathroom is salty.
4. There is no phone in the room to contact room service, requiring us to go to the reception for assistance.
5. The bathroom water is clogging.
6. Our room is at the far end of the property, making the pool very inconvenient to access.
7. Wi-Fi doesn’t work half of the time and very slow.
8. Food was meh and overpriced and water was chargeable.

First impression is very good, beautiful view and cute cottages, unfortunately thats the best there is to say.
The cleanliness was poor, and they didnt change towels or bedlinnen unless you asked for it.
The breakfast was very simple, and compared to simular hotels, very low standard.
There were noise at all time at the hotel, one thing is that all the animals makes noises 24/7 but the staff was loud and could be heard late night and very early morning.
To get out from the hotel scooters is recommended.
We overheard other guest asking for cleaning, service etc. The answer was always later.
Would not recommend however the view is pretty but you can get that elsewhere.

Nice property, close to the beach. Nice environment and rooms are spacious. Owner is also very nice person.

Beautiful cottage rooms, with great views, clean swimming pool, local food in the small restaurant. Friendly service. Daily cleaning possible if wanted. Sufficient parking for bikes. The ride up the hill isn’t too bad if you have basic scooter experience.

There could not have been a better place to stay in Nusa Penida to enjoy the serene beauty and peace of the sea and the scenery of Mount Agung in the early morning. The beautiful Sunset. There is nothing negative about this place. Our Car Xenia SUV went up till this hotel. This hotel is also near to the Banjara Nyuh harbour of Nusa Penida. Only 15 minutes by car. And from the entrance itself you can see the sea. We were sad to leave the place as we stayed only for one night here. From our room the view was unimaginable. Mount Agung was seen from the room around 7AM in the morning. I would recommend everyone if you are going to Nusa Penida stay here if your budget fits it. Loved it a lot.
The breakfast served was delicious.

The location, situated uphill, poses a challenge for driving, especially if you're not adept at biking on inclines. With only one staff member managing everything, service tends to be slow. Breakfast offers limited choices, and portions resemble those suitable for a child rather than an adult. For instance, ordering an omelette results in a basic 2-egg preparation without any vegetables. The rooms, resembling village huts, lack working air conditioning. However, opting for an ocean-view room provides a scenic vantage point, despite these drawbacks. The pool is notably small, and a welcome drink is available only upon request. However, the overall setup may not be suitable for elders or kids, given the challenging location, limited service, and modest amenities. A restful night's sleep might be challenging due to the presence of chicken noises, electricity shortages, and early morning disturbances from cleaning activities and watering plants on the premises. The unreliable Wi-Fi adds to the challenges, making it a less than ideal experience for remote workers who depend on a stable internet connection. Also there are cobwebs in the rooms.

Location is very convenient, near to the harbour. Rooms are superb. View from the room and the property is exceptional. Staff is very helpful. They have decent vegetarian options on their menu. Only drawback is that the property does not accept card payments.

Quiet place, relaxing, breathtaking scenery. It takes 10/15 minutes to get to the sea, otherwise there is a scooter to rent.
I highly recommend it!
