Akatara Hotel

Very nice, clean and affordable hotel for a short stay at Nusa Penida. Few minutes walk from the harbour, with restaurants and amenities nearby, perfect as a base for exploring the island. There is a good scooter rental and travel agency literally at the other side of the road, and Warung Suroboyo with delicious local food 50 meters away. In the hotel, there is a decent coffee machine with complimentary coffee for the guests, which we very much appreciated, and the lady in the reception (Dipa) was super friendly and helpful. Also, the breakfast was tasty and we could check-out an hour later due to our morning boat trip. For us it was all we needed — thank you!

I had an incredible stay at Akatara Hotel and cannot recommend it enough for anyone visiting the island. From the moment I arrived, the staff made me feel welcome and were exceptionally helpful with arranging scooter rentals and providing local tips.
The location is unbeatable—literally a 3-minute walk from the Maruti Express ferry terminal and right in the middle of a street filled with great cafes and restaurants. Despite being so central, my room felt like a private oasis. It was spotless, modern, and very well-equipped with great AC, a fast Wi-Fi connection, and even a large TV with Netflix for relaxing in the evenings.
The outdoor pool is beautiful and well-maintained, perfect for a refreshing dip after a day of exploring. I also loved the small 'green' touches, like the refillable glass water containers in the room. For the price, this place is a steal—it offers luxury-level comfort on a budget. I will definitely be back! "

The AKATARA Hotel enchanted us so much in the quiet period of January-February that we stayed here for almost a month. It is beautiful here with a great atmosphere. We felt like we were staying in a much more expensive hotel and we really enjoyed it. We would like to return to this nice hotel in the future. Its strategic location near grocery stores, ATMs, restaurants, the port and the beach was also important to us. Thank you very much and we recommend it.

Clean and beautiful room, lovely staff, great customer service, fair price. Location is perfect since it’s a few minutes walking from the harbour and has plenty of restaurants and shops nearby.

The hotel room is nice and pretty; it's clean, comfortable mattress, pillows, and beddings. The bathroom is clean and nice, modern, hot water flows well. Room amenities are nice, too. We love it. Our rooms were with pool access, so we can sit on our veranda by the pool. Their garden is well maintained, so it's nice to see greenery from the veranda.
The downside is the dust that came from the street, it's quite a lot, due to the constructions that are going on around the premise. They do have high walls though, which helps to avoid the dust coming in. A bit of noise can come from the street, too, from the vehicles passing by.
The location is in fact nice, it's close to many eateries (walkable distance) and walking distance, too, to the harbour.
The staff is alright, I have no complain about them.
Breakfast is alright, too, no complaints.
If we were to return, it would be due to the room that suits my taste and accessibility to the port.

The property is decent, but our experience with the staff was disappointing. Except 2 people at the reception, others were rude and unhelpful. It seemed like the rest were forced to be in the hospitality industry. Also, the surroundings of the hotel don't seem very safe after sundown.

Rooms were nice, very clean, and well equipped.
The only down side was that we asked to extend and were quoted a price far higher than available in booking. Com.

Had such a great stay at here I would highly recommend! The staff h elped with any questions we asked and honestly did everything they could to help us out, the room was stunning with a walk out balcony to the pool and the bed was so comfy! They gave us pool towels as well as normal towels every day, made sure the room was tidied when we were out and honestly couldn’t praise them enough! Even drove us to the ferry port and got our tickets sorted so we didn’t have to wait in line to check in, really happy with our stay and will definitely stay again!

I stayed at hotel for 2 nights. Location was excellent for me 68yo travelling solo.
Room is comfortable. Only mirror is vanity mirror. Tea and coffee in room.
Drinking water machine in breakfast room for refills 2 bottles in room each day.
Room was a bit noisy but remember you are opposite a night club. Early morning wake up to call to prayer somewhere but loud enough to wake the dead.
Plenty of restaurants across road. I went to happy eating great cocktails 2 4 1 happy hour 85k great value.
