Place, staff, room. All good. It is associated with MTDC so rates are also less comparing to other high class hotel. Do visit this hotel.

It is run by govt. And is worth the price.

Centrally located… coutaceous staff, very well maintained… good restuarant.

Very centrally located in Panjim, lots of restaurant options nearby, very clean rooms, new fittings, well maintained. Top marks to the housekeeping staff. The reception staff also very helpful. If you take a deluxe room, wonderful view of the seafront. Very pleasant stay. The adjoining restaurant Saiba where breakfast is part of the package, serves a basic, limited, but tasty breakfast, a little iffy on the hygiene, but otherwise adequate. All in all the Panjim Residency is great value for money.

The restaurant service takes long. If you love salt in your meal. Please mention cause they use less. Starters have good portion size. Limited parking. The hotel looks great post renovation.

Nice place, lies in the heart of the city. Getting a Car parking would be a bit challenge on Christmas and year end vacations.

Excellent hotel with good breakfast, room service and balcony view. Most importantly it is located in the City center (between north and south goa).

A saying in English "seeing is believing" amply applies to panjim residency, a grand old lady of Goa — the land of beaches. We were surprised to see the total renovation of this prime property and liked it so much. In fact, a few years ago my family hardly stayed in this hotel due to bad maintenance. Now I could not believe my eyes to see this darling hotel decorated like a bride. The hotel now looks on par with any private hotels in The City. The staff led by Mr Bharath, asst manager, took very good care of the guests. This is really an eyesore Of Goa. I strongly recommend visitors to check in this hotel to enjoy the hospitality.

Government operated hotel situated right near panaji market and bus station. Good food nice cleanliness. Service is not upto the mark.

Recently renovated. Centrally located in Panaji. Awsome view of Mandovi river. This is a good place for lodging and bording for tourists. Run by Goa Tourism Department.

Strange, no reviews here. This was one of the earliest Government-run hotels/hostels, though under the old name of Tourist Hotel/Hostel. I recall my uncle booking a room here in the early 1970s, when lifts were still a novelty in Goa, and we kids just played on the lift the hotel had. It used to be great value for money. But that was before the political class took over and started dictating. Not sure now. The Panjim Residence, at one stage, had a number of shops. (It still does, but in those times, these were quaint shops. ) I remember the Furtados, which also stocked books, maybe as late as the 1980s, by which time one had seriously begun to collect Goa books. Can still recollect the red-coloured book on Goa (which I think was called Goa: Yesterday and Today) which I picked up here for a few rupees. Happy memories. Today the shops have changed in nature, and have grown more yuppie, in keeping with the times, and the general drift of a section of the population. The photo along side is of one such outlet which seems to change hands every so often. They also have a fairly decent restaurant space (used to be so, at least). At one time, most of the media press conferences used to be held here. My memories compel it to raise the ratings from three to four starts. But be warned: that may not be the situation currently…
