A quiet old Portuguese place to stay at in Panjim. Carlos and his sons are great hosts. For very good cup of coffee and excellent Goan food, this place is worth a visit.

We stayed there for 3 days. Room was very clean and cozy while the restroom was maintained beyond expectations. Breakfast served was delicious. Location is just 5 mins away from both the Church square and Mandovi river. The best part about the hotel is the owner Mr. Carlos, he went out of his way to help us and guide us. Would highly recommend this homestay experience for visit to Goa.

A cool and cozy place for everything a tourist needs for a morning and evening snack with hot steamy beverage. The people here are friendly as pure as their coffee with the best sandwiches and pakodas in the city and amazing dessert to rap it up.

Its lovely place … staff are so friendly … and my wife had health issues last day even we check out at 12 noon then they help us and we stay 3 hr more there … they are very very help full people … even if u have laggage droped there and going outside after d check out … they are so helping us. Absolutely loved the stay! This was our first vacation after our daughter was born and first time to Goa. We loved each and everything about it. Hospitality, clean room, yummy food, great ambience, good locality and the list will go on. Travelling with a toddler is difficult but they made our stay so comfortable. There are many places to see in the walkable distance. We will surely recommend caravela to all our friends and relatives and specially to those who travel with kids. Hope to visit you guys soon.

Beautiful place to stay in Panjim. I visit Goa every month for work n trust me this is the best place I am hooked to it. Lovely location, spacious rooms and excellent linen and very kind staff with a smile on thier face always and most important thing its pocket friendly and not to forget the delicious coffee served in the morning.
Guys if planning to visit Goa plz do visit this hotel once at least. Keep up the good work.

We loved it! Panjim is a beautiful location, 45 minute drive from the airport and you are in panjim the capital. We had a lovely time here. The location is spot on and close to everything. Our room was nice, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was the best we've had in India. It's a wide spread that changes daily! All in all we can say that Carlos and his team are polite, effect and helpful as could be. Highly recommend :)

Spent a splendid week last month at this hotel and it was certainly "home away from home" — Carlos Sr. Was most helpful in all our needs. The room was comfortable, a good spread at breakfast and the location excellent.

Stayed there for one night after a business meet at Kalangute as I had to find a friend. Chose this place after reading good reviews. Did the booking through phone and the room was ready. Met the senior Pinto at the reception, he interviewed me as they are particular to who they give the room to. Strict with policy: No friends to be brought to the room, you can bring them to the coffee shop downstairs. I guess this is good to keep the place clean and above board. Rooms were very good, A/C working, all amenities spot on for a home stay. Was peaceful, room service minimal, they bring your luggage up to the room, and take it out though, very nice of them. The breakfast is OK for the rate they give, adequate and unlimited. Access is through a small lane, cars would find it difficult to reach and the parking a little way off in the open road. They say no problems, I would be uncomfortable leaving my car in an open place. All around, except for the parking an excellent bargain place in Panjim.

The Caravela Homestay is home away from home! We travelled as a young couple and stayed for 4 nights. The owners and the staff were tireless to help us with everything we needed. The rooms was quite comfortable, clean and had all the necessary amenities. The area of Fontainhas is wonderful, you can go to very good restaurants and see amazing heritage houses all in walking distance.

Impeccable! Unarguably the nicest, most hospitable place I have stayed at in South India. Clean to a fault, professionally run, homely and great value, it was truly a lovely and relaxing base from which to explore quaint and laid back Panjim. Run by the affable, well-informed and widely read Mr Carlos de Noronha and his son, it is truly a home away from home. Books abound in the lobby to read about Goan culture, cuisine, literature, and (diaspora) society. Undoubtedly however, it is Mr Carlos de Noronha himself who is the greatest draw card; soft-spoken, intelligent and extremely humourous, he will ensure your stay in Panjim be an absolute pleasure! I'd recommend Caravela to anyone!

Staying at Caravela Homestay is truly a wonderful experience. Rooms are spic and span, atmospheric and spacious. Staff is very helpful, but the most memorable character is mister Carlos de Noronha himself. Having a chat with him is a delight, and his sense of humour is unique!

We had a Goa Book Club meeting here, and it was very nicely hosted. Scenic setting. Lovely snacks. Sharing some photos…

A fantastic place, run by a very close friend, tucked away in a part of Panjim that has almost been forgotten today, Fontainhas, the Latin Quarter. A must stay if you are anywhere in the vicinity of Panjim.
