Srīrangam is a historic temple town located in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu, in the South Zone of the country. It is situated on an island formed by the Kaveri and Kollidam rivers, and is a part of the city of Tiruchirappalli. The town is famous for its Sri Ranganathaswamy Temple, one of the most important pilgrimage sites for followers of Hinduism. The temple is dedicated to the Hindu god Vishnu and is one of the largest functioning temples in the world. The temple complex is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is known for its intricate carvings, colorful gopurams (entrance towers), and vibrant festivals.
