I had stayed for a day on 25th of July 18. The room is full of blood sucking bugs. I could not sleep and had to sit keeping the lights on. When I raised complaint to the manager, he flatly refused my acknowledge my complaint. He argued and said it may be one of cockroach. I caught 5 bugs and brought them to reception just to prove the point. He offered me a discount of 10% to keep my mouth shut! This is such a joke I paid Rs. 1, 300.00 for a nights sleep and got such poor treatment. These guys does not deserve to me in the hotel industry. They are playing with the health of people. Stay if you want to loose or donate blood or want to get sick.

Dirty room. Bad staff. Worst service. One star which I have given is for food. Food quality and taste is suuper.

Food served was so bad. The place where this hotel is so deserted. Ambiance was Ok.

This is a sort of ok hotel. Don't expect a very high ambience or a cozy atmosphere. It's situated in the heart of the city and relatively closer to Shri Meenakshi Temple.

Rooms are not clean and food served was cold. Not suitable for an overnight stay. Would recommend for a shirt fresh up only.

Decent budget room. I stayed in the non AC room. Breakfast is complimentary. Bathrooms were good. Very close to the Periyar bus stand as well as the railway station in Madurai. Manageable for a day if you're not too fussy about the digs. Located on North Veli street its what you could say the heart of the city.

A hot and nice property is wasted in the hands of poor administration. Rooms are not maintained at all. You need to tell them to clean and change the towel and pillow covers; otherwise that don't bother to do so. Floor is dirty, greesy and foot becomes back once you walk without slippers. No laundry service. Food is spicy and they keep cooked dishes in refrigerators for long, as there is little crowd. They reheat it whenever order is placed. Not worth for the money. Gave 2 stars for the part time attendants in restaurant and for their attitude and service.

Nice place to stay… It's a old hotel. Still they are trying to update. Complementary breakfast is too good. The people in serving are very kind. I lost my Addidas sports shoes at hotel room, they called me and informed. Very polite and professional.

Located near Minakshi temple and Madurai main market this hotel caters big rooms and budget meals. Quiet reasonablly priced but there is lot of scope for improvement. It could be much better.

Not worth for money, the rooms are in a very bad condition. It is not matching with the photos they posted. No closed car parking. 1 rating is for AC restaurant. The compliment ary food provided was not serving at the requested time. Overall not satisfied and bad experience.

Very good for Madurai! Room of good level. No view but rooftop view. Welcome to a great hotel: service but little smile. Decent breakfast.

My experience was bad with the hotel. Unfortunately there was only non-ac room available while I booked. The room was stinking and room service was bad. They didn't provid any blankets. Only advantages is that the temple is near.

Centre of city. Very good restaurant attached. Courteous staff. Easy access to Rly Station, Bus stand, Meenakshi Amman temple, Koodal Azaghar temple & Inmayil Nanmai Sivan temple.

Unheigenic, cockroach everywhere in the rooms the staff n the boss very arrogant does not respect customer furthermore he says if want to stay stay not satisfied get out of my hotel. The boss might be a bigshot cos he says that the health inspector plus police n politicians r in his pocket personally I think the hotel is rubbish. One look at their staff u will vomit their personal hygiene very bad. If u want to complain to the boss he will just say I am not the boss. Very2 arrogant. If anybody stays for a day will get cholera dirtiest water. The boss is looking for cheap staff cheap vegetables almost everything cheap plus water.

Quality of food is not that good quality I mean using quality products for cooking is good but it should be cooked in a proper way I order boondi rayata it was good but I ordered chana masala it was not properly cooked and no salt in it and full of spicy The gravy of chana masala was not pasted properly.

LOCATION is very great. Maintenance is poor. Wardrobe is very dirty and unclean. Mattress is good. Very old AC, not working. Family friendly. So much shops nearby. Also meenakshi bazaar is very near where you could buy electronic items, mobiles, accessories for best price.

Friends. It was more than 7 years where we had 3 days stay in Duke. We had wonderful experience. With that in mind, I booked 3 rooms for a function at Madurai on early September 2017. It was really pathetic, horrible & awful experience & which had made me think never in my life to choose Duke again. Room charges are comparatively higher than any hotel of same kind. Maintenance is poor. One of the room had issues in wash room which was not rectified at all besides numerous reminders. Adding fuel to fire, management is hopeless in hospitality & does not even know to handle customer besides having faulty rooms & horrible service. Take a moment before you choose.

Very good place for everyone and important thing is it is near to temple and railway (5minutes walk), and city bus stand is also near.

Nice stay… Had good buffer dinner.

Useless people in front office… Waste person as a security guard… Taste less food in Buffet…

Hotel is situated near Head Post Office Madurai. Mobile accessories shops are available nearby. But maintenance is not good. TVs are connected to local cable system, but the quality is very poor. Bathroom is not cleaned well. Otherwise ok with the rate they charge.

Closest to the bus stop, railway station, meenakshi temple. Best place for tourists who want to roam around madurai in short time.

The stay was good. Not clean. But it's ok as the hotel is nearby the railway station. Food taste and staffs are good.

Good hotel, worth to stay for longer stays as well. Little difficult to food from outside. Try Pongal in this hotel restaurant.

Walking distance from railway station and Meenakshi temple. The resturant was closed when I stayed here for one night. Room was clean and toiletries were provided. There is no option for food nearby this hotel. If you are reaching late at night have your dinner before check in.

I was booked room online 4 rooms and when I reached hotel 1am they are not provided me the room. They are telling on line people didn't enquire with us nd all.

We stayed in hotel duke for two days (4 Adults) in A/C Room. Worst Maintenance. Rest room not clean. Bed sheet not provided. No hot water before 6.00 AM and after 9.00 AM. Poor service. Only good part is, food is good compared to other things and Service in restaurant is very good. Choose this hotel only for food. Photos which they have posted in the site, is not true. Rooms are not looking as they have shown in the picture.

Family room is neat, but can still work on its ambience and cleanliness. Too crowded as they have a marriage hall too and parking becomes a pain.

One of the good hotel in Madurai. Food is good. Recreation hall is good, small in size.

I stayed at 407 four bed room ; it was a very poorly maintained room. No floor mat in front of bath room which is very risky I felt. No dustbin. Bath room is nasty. Hot water pipe in the west wall and the cold water pipe on east wall and you have to dance to take a bath. The closet is also poorly maintained. Water bottle provided is not a sealed one and refilled bottle. When we ordered coffee in the morning by 07.00 till 07.20 there was no response. After 3 reminders the room boy came with tea and he simply said coffee is over and there is no coffee but he was polite enough to say sorry. Other rooms I have no right to comment.

The location of the hotel is an advantage. Very close to Railway station just a KM away. Rooms are spacious. But don't expect a warm reception. I think this is a very old hotel and the staff are not trained to be very courteous. But if you are looking just a place to stay and don't expect good service then this is ideal. Value for money. AC rooms are good but the AC is very old and runs with lot of sound. Cleanliness is also a concern. It has a banquet hall. If there is any function in the hall, the sound of the band will tear your ears. Good parking space and food is nice.
