Xandari Riverscapes are a fleet of house boats which sails along Vembanad Lake and in the backwaters of Alleppey. The houseboats are docked near Pallathuruthy Bridge. The traditional houseboats, called "kettuvallams" have wood harvested from local jackfruit tree plantations, hand-stitched by local craftsmen with coconut fiber rope. The boats have one, two or three air-conditioned bedrooms. All have an open-air living area and a fully-equipped kitchen. Guests can enjoy the views from the viewing deck, or through the bedroom's picture window. Suites have an attached bathroom with toiletries and hot water supply. A desk and wardrobe are provided. Each has both air conditioning and a fan. Laundry services and a doctor-on-call are available for guests’ convenience. Guests can relish a delectable meal of classic Kerala cuisine cooked on board. The houseboat docks in the evenings by the side of the lake. Guests can enjoy a ride on a canoe through the backwaters or play indoor games in the houseboat. Cochin International Airport is 90 km away.

Amazing stay! Bring mosquito spray, booze, and camera. Pictures cannot really do the houseboat justice. Nice air conditioned room. Washroom was clean with a large shower. Woken up by prayers blasted from the temple across the canal. Did not mind very much. Apparently only happens one month out of the year. Very cool experience!
This was an amazing experience. We were visiting from the United States, and I wish we had done two nights here instead of moving on to other destinations after only one night. The food was excellent. Bottled water (from a 5 gallon jug) was supplied onboard. There is no beer or wine supplied, so we should have brought that with us. There weren't many mosquitoes, and only at night, but I'd recommend bug spray anyways (bring your own). The air-conditioned bedroom was very comfortable and bug-free. A Hindu temple across from where we spent the night had loud prayers in the evening and (very! ) early morning, but it was only mildly inconvenient and an interesting cultural experience. I highly recommend this houseboat experience.

Too good. We were briefed about allepy backwater before we checked in. Food was awesome. Our houseboat was clean. Breakfast spread was too good. Staff were friendly. We also had a canoe ride.
