Good place to stay in Shimoga. My stay for a one night was very comfortable. Pleasant place and very cooperative and helpful staff. Food available is also good.

What was good? Easily accessible from bus stand. Good parking facility (valet) Courteous staff. Exemplary. Sumptuous breakfast! Rooms are spacious. What could have been better? Electronic stuffs in room Refrigerator and Drier didn't work TV setup box has very limited subscription of Asianet digital. Other hotels with much less tariff better subscriptions. I can see cost cutting. Food as Pinxx tastes good. But prices are insanely high. Is it worth the price? No. You can find better hotels for this price.

Great service. Awesome food. Staff ensured our stay and comfort is taken care. This is my first stay with royal orchid chain and would definitely recommend all if your in Shimoga. At city centre and near to all tourist places specially elephant camp and tiger safari which are the main attraction here. Big thumbs up to royal orchid staff!

Excellent location and decent ambience courteous staff, I had problem with AC, was too cold even after raising the temp to 35, it was not getting warm even after the staff made couple of attempts, it was marginally improved but pretty much Ac controls were useless, at least in my room, also we had taken to single beds and they had casters on one side without locking mechanism and having the bed directly on the ceramic tile was causing it to slide forward when we were trying rest our back on the headboard, staff said it was the dirt time they have seen this problem … anyways they tried but did not a solution at that time. I would have given 5 star if did not had these issues, they even gave toothpaste and shaving when I mentioned I forgot to bring them along… everything else is excellent.

We like the way of serving the food, cleaness of Restaurant, and the silence of Restaurant.
But one thing is, we don't like the big pieces of onions in mushroom masala.

One of the best in shimoga. The rooms are neat n tidy. They have all the shops nearby. The hotel staff are courteous. Thou there are restaurant available food is not up to mark. The hotels outside suffice that purpose. Good drivers are there for disposal. Overall very good.

Badly needs renovation. Poor maintenance. Bed and bathroom linen need to be changed immediately. Breakfast though was really excellent with efficient and courteous service. Parking is another area which needs to be improved. However staff is very well trained and provide service with smile.

As the name suggests, Royal Orchid is right in the center of the city. Surrounded by a market and a mall in walking distance. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Rooms are clean and maintained. Valet and parking is available. You will not find the need to go out and eat once you try the in house restaurant. The food is just awesome.

Hotel is very clean as you expect of with a place of such a class. The staff is also extremely courteous and friendly. The are two restaurants. The food is alright, not as tasty as one would expect. Both restaurants serve veg and non veg food, buffets are an option many a time which are affordable. Overall a nice place but if you're looking primarily for good food then there are much better options nearby.

One of the best property you can get at the price range… Booking online may be cheaper. Their breakfast is excellent but limited during peak season. The property is right in the middle and walkable distance from the bus station.

This is the Best place to Stay in Shimoga, the property looks stunning, Even their rooms are well equipped with all the basic necessities, Good for business travellers, Staff is courteous and well mannered, they sorted every minor issue if there was a problem within seconds. Even their service staff was very helpful. Would definitely recommend this Hotel to Tourists & Business Travellers.

This is the "best" hotel in Shimoga (Shivamogga)! And the restaurant is owned by a Karnataka politician makes it well known to everyone. The rooms are spacious. The decor and ambience could be better. Food was good. A good hotel for a short stay!

Nice comfortable stay at Shimoga. Though there are many other hotels in the city yet Royal Orchid is best of the lot. Services are good here and the staff is helpfully prudent.

An elegant and pleasant place to stay. A 4 star hotel with large rooms with the best amenities. No swimming pool. In the heart of the city bang opposite the bus stand. The food is good and the staff are professional and pleasant. On the main road and easy to locate. Posh, clean and best service makes this place a joy to stay.

This is the first time that I've had pleasant experience with Royal Orchid group hotels. Royal Orchid Central, Shimoga is the finest you can have in town. Though I was there only for one night the experience was very much pleasant. Booking of room through phone was easy. The warmth they extend to you once you enter the hotel is something I've never seen. Check in was like breeze. Bell boy was very cordial and helping. Room size was spacious for the price they charged. It was full of all amenities a frequent business traveller like me looks for. Cleanliness is at its peak. Toiletries were sufficient and even if you want more you can straight away ask for it. Food was just awesome. As I was there for one night, I only could had one dinner and one breakfast. But quality and taste of every item was super delicious. Breakfast spread was huge — a typical three star style! Still I'm giving four star and not five because of following MISSING things: 1) Hand towel in the room 2) Hair dryer (there was stand & socket) 3) Glass door for bath area 4) A smile on Ms. Nafisa's face (she's at Front Desk) HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

A nice place to plan your stay. However A/C is not well maintained. Food can be improved. It has a restaurant named tiger trail which serves good food but very less choices to make on the menu.!

The hotel room and toilet are designed intelligently and are neat and clean. Hotel staff is supportive and well mannered. Hotel is at prime location. Rooms and toilets are sufficiently big. One of the best hotels in Shivamogga… I recommend it :-)

Veg food is worst. It's a star level hotel so quantity won't be there but they should maintain the quality and taste of the food. There is not much items in veg. And veg food in this hotel is the worst in taste. Vegetarians please don't go to this hotel.

Nice hotel with a great service staff. We stayed for 3 nights at this hotel during a family vacation. The hotel is in middle of Shimoga town near the bus stand. The hotel rooms are large and airy with good amenities within the room. The staff is extremely helpful. The only improvement area can be the taste of food items during morning buffet. They have a good variety of food but somehow the taste is lacking. All in all, a very good hotel in Shimoga at a decent price point.

Shimoga deserves a much better "3 Star" hotel than this. Our room was clean but linen was not fresh and pillows had stains on them. When we walked past other rooms towards the lift, we could smell the stench of cigarettes, alcohol and paan. We could smell the same in our room although it was much less strong. The water gun in our bathroom was broken and using it left entire floor wet. Shower was decent but one has to struggle with the knob that toggles tap and shower. One of the straps on our travel bag was torn by the staff while loading it in our car. Overall it was way below expectations. They maintain a good facade, but it's simply "bad" inside.

A decent property in Shimoga. Very friendly staff and reasonable service levels. The food was OK. The rooms were comfortable but house keeping requires improvement. On the day we checked in, we noticed toilet handgun was missing and on the second day, towels were not kept. The hotel is located in middle of the town, easy to locate and they don't have closed parking space. We had lunch in Tiger trail, the food quality was OK and the pricing is reasonable. The breakfast spread is good.

Very good premise, well maintained. Staff of Front office, restaurant, Customer Relations are very friendly and helpful. Food variety is best compared with other hotels in Shimoga. Felt little lack of supervision in performance of room service and house keeping sections. My stay was comfortable except few matters.

A good hotel for Shimoga, as we don't have many options. However I was very disappointed that the reception did not have the room ready on time. I had given prior intimation through phone and also while booking in make my trip that we will reach mid night, yet we got a small room. Honestly if I had other options and the booking could have been cancelled, I would have in those circumstances. For the amount they charged per night, they should have their computer systems up and running during the night. The guy at the reception said that he had no clue about the booking as their systems were down and he was requesting the customer to co-operate… not something you expect for a hotel chain called royal! …

Ambience is too good. Shimoga's one of the best hotels when it comes to service and ambience. But costly indeed.

We stayed in Royal Orchid Hotel in Shimoga and we loved our stay… Each and every staff are very helpful, friendly and efficient too! The rooms are spacious. They maintain it very well. Keep it up! The food is very tasty including the complimentary breakfast. Lunch dinner everything is just perfect! Service and hospitality at Tiger Trail is just awesome! Guys u must give it a try if ever visit Shimoga! All the best guys!

One of the good hotels of Shimoga. Royal Orchid is a chain so it has its value and standard. However, I faced few issues may be because of heavy rush in the long weekend. Stayed 2 nights 3 days, booked 3 rooms. Location : Middle of the town. 1. Smoking smell everywhere in the room. I called the service boy for room fresher spray. 2. Bathroom slipper and hair dryer was missing in one of the room. 3. Queen beds were missing instead got the twin bed rooms. 4. Water clogging was happening in one of the bathrooms. 5. One of day in one of the bath room, hot water was available for limited period of time. 6. Tiger trail / Pinxx — Good food but very poor service. You may get glass but no water, served with starter but no sides, any thing you need may require you to repeat / follow-up at least twice. For that location, hotel is good despite of all the issues I faced.

The plus points are central location, friendly staff and good room service. Maintenance of the room and property is as expected. The gym is very basic with no gym assistant. Air conditioning in the gym was not working. It took me many attempts and 15 minutes to increase the speed of the treadmill… yes. A gym assistant would have solved this easily. And considering that I am a regular gym user the equipment was truly not very user friendly. The gym equipment were very basic and weights were not well planned. Overall gym is a big minus. No swimming pool as well. Food is average to good.

Very poor service they are not worried about the customer's need waited fromantic 8.45 pm to 10.10 pm they din't serve the starterst. such poor service this is not fit to be a star hotel.

Good: 1. Fantastic staff all around, always helpful.   2. Amenities like Car parking, Wi-Fi, etc are good Bad: Restaurant is not consistent. We received coffee made with spoiled milk (promptly replaced after complaining). Breakfast was good, but they are not able manage huge crowds efficiently. Ugly: There is a very bad odour in the Hotel (Entrance, Lifts, Rooms, in fact everywhere). Something which you don't expect in a 3 star hotel.
