Urbane Haauz

We stayed at Hotel Urbane Haauz for 2 nights in Pelling and had a mixed experience overall.
The hotel is located in Upper Pelling, which is quite far from the main city area. Reaching the property was a bit challenging as the road condition is not good, so travelers should be prepared for that. The remote location does give a peaceful atmosphere, but accessibility is definitely an issue.
On the positive side, the rooms were very spacious and comfortable. The highlight was the stunning view of Mt. Kanchenjunga from the room, which can be absolutely breathtaking on a clear day. The scenery alone makes the stay worthwhile when the weather supports it.
However, the service and food experience needs improvement. The breakfast service was very slow, often taking up to an hour even when orders were placed in advance. This caused inconvenience, especially for travelers with tight sightseeing schedules.
The dinner arrangement was also not very satisfactory. As per the discussion with owner, the hotel follows an alternate-day menu system where they serve either Chinese food or Indian food. The Chinese dishes like fried rice and Manchurian were not up to the mark and did not taste good. The lack of basic Indian staples like roti, dal, sabji, and rice in the daily menu was disappointing.
We understand the property is newly started and still developing, but food quality and basic menu availability should be improved significantly.

Great hospitality… fresh and delicious food… paragliding and ropeway view from the room… staffs are supportive… we spent a memorable live musical evening… special thanks to Mr Sayak…
