A Complete Nightmare. Cockroaches and Ruined New Year Trip.
My family and I booked the so-called "Premium Room" at Hotel Puri Waves for 5 nights during New Year's Eve 2026. We booked through Goibibo at an exorbitant rate of ₹4500/ — per night. Let me be very clear: this so called premium room is not worth even ₹1, 000.
Our experience was absolutely terrible from start to finish. The room was disgustingly dirty and infested with cockroaches. They were literally everywhere—in the bed, on the sofa, in the toilet, and crawling on the carpets. It was unhygienic and unbearable.
The behavior of the staff was equally objectionable. The first day, they treated us well because they wanted a review. They asked us to write one after dinner, but we politely told them we would review after completing our stay. This completely flipped their attitude. For the next four days, we received no proper treatment whatsoever.
Most of the time, they failed to provide anything we asked for, citing "unavailability. " Despite repeated requests, they neglected to give us basic necessities like towels, soaps, spoons, and sometimes even food. We desperately wanted to switch to a better hotel nearby, which was available at a much cheaper rate, but we were trapped because we had already paid Goibibo the full amount for 5 nights.
To add to the misery, the tour taxi operators linked to the hotel are frauds.

Staying at Hotel Puri Waves has been a part of my travel routine since 2022, and I truly have many good memories here. I’m not someone who enjoys writing negative feedback from behind a keyboard — but I believe honest feedback can help bring positive change.

Unfortunately, during my last two visits, the experience was very disappointing due to the presence of small cockroaches in multiple areas — including the water flask, bed, and bathroom. I requested housekeeping support, but the issue seemed difficult to control. When I visited again a few months later, the same problem continued, which led me to stop staying at the property after 19/10/24.
I genuinely hope the management takes strict hygiene measures and focuses on deep cleaning, because this hotel has great potential and loyal guests like me would truly love to return with confidence. I’m planning another visit soon and sincerely wish to see positive improvements.

The behavior of the hotel staff is not bad. But the hotel owner's communication with the tour agency people is very weak due to which we were harassed a lot by the hotel owner. When the hotel owner agency did not give the money, they even threatened to take all the 23 elderly people to the police station. Whereas we have already paid full payment to the agency. We narrowly missed our train. Please, you all are requested that if you cannot deal clearly with the tour agent, then do not take the booking and do not harass the customer.

The rooms are excellent. The staff is friendly and good. The services are very good. Food quality is excellent. Overall a great experience! Totally recommend!

Amphibians is good staff service okay type because I wasn't able to find staff for 10 minutes and after they came first 20 minutes they are ignoring us at the food was totally bad because the chicken pakoda was smelling like it was totally roasted and not cooked properly the chicken pieces are not washed properly soup is average nothing is hot in the chicken biryani there are lots of spices but they taste very bad they are like blur taste and my overall opinion is I don't know that this is the correct time when ever I have gone there but I know that much that in 7:00 p. M. There are no one except us and this place is giving the food and the food is testing like a Frozen food like they have kept all of that stuff in the fridge and when we gave them order they just make it little bit warm and then give it up.

Stayed at Puri Waves for a day and had a wonderful experience. The room was clean and comfortable, the complimentary breakfast was tasty, and the staff were polite and very helpful. Great location and overall a pleasant stay. Highly recommended!

Actually this is a review for the Puri Waves Restaurant. We had chapatis with Dal tadka and aloo gobi Masala. Very tasty and the chapatis were super soft almost like home made and served hot hot. Both sides were very tasty with less oil. It takes time for the food to be served, but well worth the wait.

I had a terrible experience at this restaurant. I had a confirmed table booking through Swiggy Dineout, but when I reached, the staff simply denied entry and said they don’t accept such bookings. The staff were rude and totally unprofessional, with no apology or attempt to help. If you are listed on Swiggy Dineout, you should either honour the booking or clearly mention that you don’t accept it – not insult customers after they travel all the way. This was a complete waste of time and a very bad experience. I do not recommend this place at all.

Hotel Puri Waves it's a fantastic hotel to stay, easy to reach, near to railway station just 1 km, staff is very co-operative, room service is excellent, neat and clean rooms, the good thing is that hotel can provide you a bike if you want, at very reasonable charges, I highly recommend this hotel to stay with family.

The hotel's location makes it an ideal place for a perfect stay. Another thing that makes this hotel special is the behavior of the staff — especially Ms. Sumitra at the reception, who is very supportive. You can comfortably stay here with your family. If you want to enjoy street food, there are continuous stalls right behind the hotel. Overall, the location is excellent — truly top-notch!

Good experience hotel puri waves I ordered there special menu ordered combo menu chicken curry with usuna rice person was ok and taste is like home style curry I really enjoy the food😋 and good experiance and staff also co operative tq visit again.

The hotel was very good. Service is also very good. The reception staff are very polite and helpful. Location is near to beach and temple both. They have bike parking also.

We stayed here for 1 night during our Puri temple visit. Their service was excellent, especially the front office staff and office boys. The property has both hotel and restaurant. The hotel is budget friendly and highly recommended in this area.

Visited Puri Waves in Odisha expecting a good experience, but it turned out to be a complete disaster. The service was incredibly slow and unresponsive — we had to wait far too long even to get basic attention from the staff.
But the worst part? We actually found a cockroach in the rice. It was shocking and absolutely disgusting. When we informed the staff, they showed little urgency or concern, and there was no proper apology or corrective action.
For a place located in a tourist spot like Puri, this level of hygiene and customer care is completely unacceptable. Would not recommend this restaurant to anyone — please be cautious if you’re considering eating.

The food quality was awful—
Olly, stale, and completely tasteless.
Worst of all, we found a cockroach in the food, which was absolutely disgusting and shocking. This is a serious health risk and shows complete negligence.
When we complained, the staff didn't seem to care. No apology, no action-just excuses.
For a restaurant in a hotel, this is completely unacceptable.
Cleanliness and basic food safety are the minimum expectations.
