Guptkashi is a small town located in the Rudraprayag district of the northern Indian state of Uttarakhand. Situated at an altitude of 1,319 meters (4,327 feet) above sea level, Guptkashi is nestled in the Garhwal Himalayas and is surrounded by breathtaking natural beauty. The town is known for its religious significance, as it is believed to be the place where Lord Shiva proposed to Goddess Parvati. Guptkashi is also considered to be the place where the marriage of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati took place.
