Great place to stay with amazing views. I stayed here for 4 nights with my boyfriend and we had a pleasant stay. The views towards the lake palace and its location are really good. It is just a 5-min walk to the city palace. There’s free chai at sunset which we loved. The room was great and the bed was comfy. We had breakfast and dinner almost every day and the food was pretty good. All in all, I highly recommend this hostel.

The Host are very helpful, we were hungry when we came to the Hostel at 1 am and they made us food and insisted that we should not sleep hungry. During my overall stay they always looked to solve any issues I had.

Beautiful view, comfy beds, we had a lot of fun on our tour, and the rooftop restaurant has great breakfast/lunch/dinner options. When a friend of ours had a bike accident, Sandeep made sure everyone got back to the hostel safely, took everyone to the hospital and helped us bring some comforts for our friend. He also helped get him his medication and communicated with the doctors and nurses for us, making the experience a lot less scary than it could have been. This place felt like a second home, and we would have happily stayed an extra week if we didn’t have flight already to Dubai — every time the 6 of us requested to stay another night they always said yes and made arrangements for us. On top of that, the view is unbeatable!

Lovely hostel, great atmosphere, staff are amazing — literally go above and beyond with anything that happens. Will come back here 100% when I return to udaipur. Felt like a family member during my stay.

Everything… the day trips these guys organized… the evening chai for everyone… various games like chess, carrom, table tennis. The best part is the football matches screening … and the Roof Top View is the best thing you'll ever want to have… The AC rooms are very comfortable… Beds are soft… Water is perfectly available… And the people… the experience with the people who you meet there is the ones that will live with you for your whole life time! I met German, Spanish, English, Rajasthani people there… Everybody had there own travel stories and got to learn new things from each and every one of them… Made friends for a lifetime there and the last best thing which came was PEACE.

Best rooftop with lake view! Best crowd! Super chill staff and good hospitality. Must recommended if you are in Udaipur. Beautiful property and super relaxed place.

Very nice place to stay for a couple night rooms were okay. Perfect spot for backpackers. Nice common areas. More for people who prefer activities rather than a quite place to stay. Perfect location and very nice rooftop with a view over the the city. Staff was super nice. There is a cheap option to wash close.

It's a great and beautiful hostel to stay. I would recommend it to every traveller. People are lovely, they take care of your every single comfort.

Very good place for backpackers and solo travellers. The host is quite welcoming, rooftop restaurant provides amazing view, food is good as well, and you are bound to have a good time here.

I booked this place based on the positive reviews, but was left very disappointed. Maybe I was unlucky or prices are inflated during this season, but for the amount I paid it is not even close to being any sort of value for money (for a single room). Honestly it would be overpriced at even half that amount. Sure they've put some effort into decorating the place and the artwork is interesting, but that cannot hide the fact that the rooms are not very well maintained, clean or spacious. The only saving grace (and the only reason I gave 2 stars instead of 1) is that the staff is polite and friendly. Also, the food is terrible, and the place is very noisy. I suppose I can kind of see why the ratings are so high, since this place (and Udaipur in general, at least based on what I saw) leans more towards the commercial or tourist-y end of the spectrum in comparison to the typical traveller/backpacker you'd see find in other places like HP, Rishikesh, or even Pushkar. And so when viewed within that paradigm and from the pov of its typical audience, there probably is some justification or logic behind the high score.

I suppose I do understand why the ratings are so high, since this place (and Udaipur in general) seems to attract a younger crowd with a more "hipster" leaning than what you see in other backpacker destinations like HP, Rishikesh, or even Pushkar. And I suppose that as a result, there is a certain amount of unfamiliarity with travel conditions in India, at least in comparison to the travellers that have been visiting regularly for years.

Beautiful location with an awesome view and good prices for the dorms. The restaurant unfortunately wasn't all that great, and the bathroom had loads of insects. We also did a tour of two lakes and saw the moonshine Palace. It was alright.

My first hostel experience, it was a memorable one. Attached pic is the view from the hostel. Hostel is beautifully decorated, night there will be games or movie night and fun.

Sunsets are something not to be missed. Good views & a really nice place. Only limitations are somewhat stinky toilets & roof not accessible after 11pm.

Excellent budget hostel for backpackers in a great location of Udaipur. The building is well-maintained, there's tons of common areas, and the beds are clean and warm with hot showers. Great place to relax on the rooftop, with group outings occurring throughout the week. Great hostel.

Maybe I was unlucky or prices are inflated during this season, but for the amount I paid it is not even close to being any sort of value for money. Infact I would consider it slightly overpriced at even half that amount. Sure they've put some effort into decorating the place and the murals and artwork are interesting, but that cannot hide the fact that the rooms are not very well maintained or spacious, especially considering the price I paid. The toilets atleast are reasonably clean and the staff is polite and friendly. Also the food is terrible, and left me with a bad stomach. The guests, and the place in general, are also very noisy, and seem to predominantly be millennials (which explains why they manage to get away with the high prices and pseudo hipster vibe).

This is a beautiful place to stay with a great location and great staff and activities. The atmosphere in the place is very chill out. Bed is comfortable and very big. Just losing one star as I tried to have a shower in our last morning and there was no hot water and there was a chemical smell (like petrol or a freshener) in the room that was quite overwhelming when getting in the room (although after bit was ok)

I was referred to this place by many backpackers but it was such a disappointment. Place is hard to locate on Google map and then it's managed by the caretakers who have least interest in backpacking requirements and more about business. It's good location, restaurants included and good interior but it lacks soul.

Friendly staff, helps in other arrangements like bike horse riding and other kind of vehicle and other guidance towards Udaipur City. Location and view of lake awesome during morning. Cheap place to stay in such a locale. . Suggestions: Social gathering should be arrange for foreigner.

Cheap place to stay. It was quite clean (indian standards). The decoration is very good. Yoga classes are recommended.

Oneof The most amazing hostels you can find in Udaipur. Beautiful ambience, giving a positive vide. View from every floor, and every balcony is breathtaking. When in Udaipur, stay here.

Lovely hostel with incredible staff. We had a slight problem with our booking (not their fault, Agoda's fault) and they dealt with it completly professionally, especially Wasib, who was excellent. Would definitely recommend Bunkyard to anyone travelling to Udaipur!

After backpacking Europe and India, I'd have to say this is the best hostel I've been to. It had big rooms. Amazing patio views. Tons of open space. Awesome staff. And free chai tea at sunset :) Highly recommend.

I stayed here during in August 2017. This was the time before the on-season starts. The weather was perfectly fine with occasional drizzles. Wow! Totally loved the chilled out atmosphere. The dorm rooms are small. If you can manage, then manage! Otherwise, get a private room. The location of the hostel cannot get any better. You can a spectacular view of Lake Pichola from the 3rd Floor (Restaurant Floor) and terrace. You have amazing boat tours organized by the hostel operators. The food tastes good and the boys in the restaurant are totally amazing! The only con I can say are the guys at the reception — the owner and the guy who assists him are incompliable to even basic requests at times. This is totally unnecessary and if that was perfect, I would have totally loved this place. Still, this is a place you must consider on a vacation to Udaipur. Go for it. You'll love it!

It was first time in a hostel! And trust me its amazing! It wad got well maintained rooms and bathrooms… It has got amazing view from all the floors… Its just opposite to the lake… So you can have amazing evenings along with an amazing sunset… The atmosphere in the hostel is quite lively. Mostly its filled with foreigners. Also it has got a dedicated recreation room along with games, TV and more. I strongly recommend this place to solo travellers and those travelling with friends.

Fun atmosphere, great staff, the sunset chai on the roof offers beautiful views of the surrounding city and hills. The staff were very helpful and friendly.

This is my first review and boy I couldn't resist but write one for this place. One word AMAZING.! The place is quite affordable, clean and at a very convinient location. But the reason that made me write this feedback is the people running the joint. They were incredible.! The were really friendly, helpful and made our stay very comfortable. We were a group of 6 and we had a great experience staying at this place. We celebrated a birthday at the hostel and it was such a memorable experience. I would highly RECOMMEND this place to anyone traveling to udaipur and you will fall in love with the place and most importantly the courtesy of the people there. Go for it.

This place is full of energy. The hosts are the most welcoming people you'll find in Udaipur the got great food and awesome themed dorms (I stayed in Bollywood and raasta both they are crazy) with splendid view of lake pichola. It's a must go to place for all the folks whos traveling to Udaipur. Trust me guys the view from the rooftop is the best in Udaipur. Do visit it. I would have given more stars to it if I had an option. Cheers mate.

The best hostel in Udaipur. 2 reasons — a set of staff which s why backpacker's delight. A view to the Pichola lake which is to kill for.! Very affordable for a hostel this pretty.! The the people know how to appreciate good art — so much so, we agreed to paint some walls with graffiti n shoot the process into a short video n the guys at the hostel let us stay for another 3 days for free too.! There3 floors which all have balconies which have the view to the lake and then the terrace which is such chill space. There are safe lockers n clean bathrooms in each dorm.! Safe n very helpful. Also, very strategically located hostel indeed.

A quiet and comfortable backpackers place. Very friendly staff. They provide bikes on chargeable basis and suggest very good places around for sightseeing. Probably the food quality at the restaurant could be improved. Eveything else was on the mark.

'Common spaces' are the highlights of this place! Well that and the extremely friendly manager who shows around the place! A lot of spaces to just sit back and relax and enjoy the breath taking view! The stay ofcourse is very enjoyable with the different kind of people you meet from all over the world! Very well maintained! Also has a rooftop restaurant which also serves beer! If you're travelling alone, worry no more! You will definitely find people like yourself at the hostel who would join you! And if you're travelling in a group, well just be ready to expand the group! :) Mainly a place for youngsters! But they do have Family rooms as well :) so go ahead and book your bunks while your visiting Udaipur! :)

Very beautiful place and extremely well localized. The staff is very gentle and kind and offer all kinds of activities inside and outside the hostel. Rooms are big and spaceful. The only downsize is the locker size but it's still the best option for young backpackers.

Horrible! Once I went with my friends and they actually disappointed us all that we dont allow indians in our cafeteria and gave me a lame excuse of that we dont allow the outdoor guests in our cafeteria! Utter nonsense!

We friends visited this place for my birthday eve the staff ws vry rude and racist coz we wer 2 Indian couples we asked for any special snacks they had only two options french fries and veg pakora which wer swimming in oil this is not it they know that it ws my birthday they give me my surprice cake which my friends bought it of me before 15 mins of my birth giving us this stupid exp. That we r close u need to leave. Thank you rudeyard!

A typical bacpacking hostel. Cheap dorm rooms, nice play to crash and roam around in udaipur. Has a rooftop cafe but the food was really average. I would prefer zostel anytime over it.

Aha that's all. Everything about this place is aha. Nice location, excellent staff, good food and friendly cook. A perfect place for wanderers and young travelers.

It's beautiful when you are single and stay for week or long. Recommend for fun only, not for families.

I hated hostel places till the time I did nt visited bunkyard hostel but this place has just changed every thinking of mine for hostels. This place has one of the amazing pichola lake view from the roof top and smoking section. We were in Reggage room, everything was so well organized, neat and the best thing bunk beds. People working there are humble and helping. The place where it is located in the narrow lane is also good for shopping and the food around is too good. People visiting here must visit Greenwood cafe for some lipsmatching sandwiches and they serve one of he best coffe in town. All together its 5/5 place.

Been coming to this place for almost 1 year now! Staff is very helpful! Manish and the staff always take care of everyone! The rooms are great! Rooftop view is incredible!

When you arrive at reception the first floor greets you with an amazing open space and a view from the library room of the riverside that is spectacular. Then you climb the staircase surrounded by flags of the world and cascading vines that seem to have been there for an eternity, each floor revealing a view that can't be beaten, until you get to the next floor and finally the rooftop. Being back at Bunkyard by 5pm is a must to watch the sunset behind the mountains. Bunk rooms or private rooms are available and I was fortunate enough to have experienced both. Travelling alone I made some amazing friends & future travelling companions as the hostel was fully booked my entire stay with word of mouth sending more travellers through the doors. The location is perfect for allowing a stroll along the market, down to the river for a boat ride or across the footbridge to find some amazing eateries. For days that you just want to put your feet up, there is a restaurant on the top floor that keeps your belly satisfied while sitting on the rooftop soaking up the sun and the views. I can not recommend this hostel enough. The staff are friendly and make you feel like they are opening their own home to you. My travel plans were originally to only stay in Udaipur for two nights but I couldn't bare to leave and extended my stay. Udaipur is a great place to get away from some of the more hustle and bustle cities of India and Bunkyard is the perfect place to spend it.
