Hotel Surya's USP is its Location and Parking facility. Walking distance from Mall Road Scandal Point. Parking attendant well trained Rooms are spacious but need some improvement in terms of cleanliness & repairing/replacing of broken fittings. Refreshments in the Rooms are exponentially priced. Since they are buying in bulk discounted rates, can sell them at MRP or contents are of Max Rs 100/-, they can make it complimentary for guests, will be a positive publicity for the hotel (just a suggestion) Quality of Buffet Breakfast is good but its Monotonous & extremely limited. They reallyyyyyy need to serve variety and must add "atleast" egg in their buffet.

It's very nice place and staff … very good service not expensive hotel… I like Surya hotel… again I am vist after my marriage now I am single.

Rooms are very nice with good view. Advantage of hotel is that it is connected to mall via lift. Staff is polite. I loved restaurant.

Situated at a perfect location. Mall road is just at 10 mnt walking distance. Rooms are spacious and have valley views. Room service and restaurant are very good.

Decent rooms in an oldish hotel that it's showing its age. The room was okay with only a table fan. Hot water timings are fixed from 7AM to 10PM only. The breakfast spread was very basic, but tasteful. Beware of the small print in the menu as we ended up with a bad dinner experience. Room service was prompt and very fast. One of the perks I really liked was the easy access to mall road via their lift that gives you a quick shortcut. Overall a decent place from Shimla standards with okay food, basic rooms and courteous and supportive staff.

Spacious rooms, food quality is good. Best part is you go to top floor by lift and other side is Shimla's famous Mall road.

Rooms are nice but Pillow covers were not present on pillows. Niether fresh blankets nor bedsheets were provided. Room cofee kit was not available. We purchased cofee pouch from local market. Tea kit is provided only once per day per person.

I had a very pleasant stay at Hotel Surya, few things was missing in bathroom but that was manageable, well behaved staff with good food. I will recommend this hotel. This comes under budget as well.

Worst experience. Non cooperative staff. Bad rooms. Not even cleaned properly. We booked a suite and they being the most expensive room were in such bad state. I can imagine the condition of the other rooms. Breakfast menu does not change. We stayed for 2 days and the same things were served to us on both days. Please avoid.

Visited in March 2017. The reception is very basic but when we were shown the room, we were pleasantly surprised. The rooms are clean and have a contemporary decor. The staff are friendly and helpful. A lift up to the top floor presents you with an exit out of the back of the hotel from which it is only a 5 minute walk to Mall Road. Be aware though, there are steep steps and it is an uphill walk. Only real negative is that there is no heating in the room. If you go in the colder months (we went in March) it very cold in the room. There are extra blankets but I had to cuddle up very close to my wife to stay warm ;^)

It was an awesome stay at Hotel Surya but the load shedding is a problem. There was a power cut for 2 hours at night while our stay. Rest it fantastic. There is a way to mall road directly from the hotel. The food is good. Rooms are clean and the room service is amazing.

Hotel staff are good supporter. Restaurants very good and their services also good. Hotel location near Victoria tunnel. It's back side mall road just walk 5-10 min. Room service or room are good. In low budget this hotel awesome for couple also. Couple friendly. Management and manager behavior are good. All staff welcome with smiley faces. But only one small problem some time badly smell are their in washroom. But that not a big problem close your washroom door & enjoying.

I visited this place on new year evening and enjoy a lot, thanks for making new year eve memorable but only the one thing guys if you visit there just asked the manager to gave room in first and second building only. Overall this place was good for family and easily reachable from Tunnel point and Mall Road. Guys If you want any other information just msg me.

Awesome place to stay. Very friendly staff. Rooms are not very modern but are very clean as per hygiene and cleanliness is concerned. Very near to mall road (400 mtrs. )

Place is good. I've been in executive suite. Room is perfect with heater. Only issue is with service. Service ends at 10 or 11pm. My friend had an emergency at night and he had to use washroom continuously the whole night. There was no hot water available. It had been very difficult service again started at 7am. I was not happy with this. Overall food was good room service is also excellent but I would suggest to extend service 24*7.

Food was good… Our service in charge was very polite and was available on one call. The view from the rooftop restaurant is awesome…

I have stayed there 4, 5 times and it’s my favourite place for stay in Shimla due to its parking facility, and its nearby location to Mall Road, staff is very courteous and food is also very good specially morning breakfast. A small route is there from back side of the the hotel which directly take you to the Mall Road but you have to climb a lot of stairs but still you can manage in maximum 20, 25 min to reach at Shimla ridge.

This hotel was a delightful experience, especially as I am somewhat skeptical of budget hotels. The room was quite large and the bathroom was very modern, clean and had great fittings. The breakfast buffet selection has sufficient variety (pure veg) and the bhaturas were the best I have ever eaten. Staff is amazingly caring. I've been doing extensive travel this year and thanks to OYO I've found some outstanding budget hotels that provide great rooms and exceptional service yet are in the ₹1500-2500 price band.

Decent Place to Stay and the view you can get there is amazing.

The hotel rooms were very good and you can reach the mall very quickly by taking elevator… Views in front are also good.

Too slow, not even providing proper utilities and on basis of past experience we thought they are good just like before, but in reality they are not. I ordered egg bhurji and in that I found only onions and quantity of egg is little. Dont want to visit again here will find a better place lots of mosquitos.

An excellent place to stay in Shimla. The only drawback is the room service, they are REEEEALLY slow. But nothing beats the view and the accomodation.

Recently I stay in hotel Surya with my group members. My overall experience was very very bad. Starting for the front office, staff is very pathetic, un — supportive. I didnt found any responsible person in Hotel. Even I must say this is Dharmshala not a Hotel. Rooms are filthy, smelling and moisturized. There is small lift capacity of 4-5 pax. To use lift you have to wait minimum 10 min and same time may be all garbage and dustbin will go up and down with you because there is only one entrance which hotel use for Guest Entry, Garbage exit other other purpose. This thing look quite Odd. Don't talk about Rooms. There is no sequence of Rooms. You will Found Room no. 109 on 6th Floor and 116 on 8 Floor. Hotel don't have direct connectivity with mall road. You have to go lots of Upstairs to connect mall road. Food Quality is so so. Can't say very Good.

It's not what we expected. Everything looks good on the net the pics, the lobby, the room. But when you are there it's not what you expect. The only plus point is it close to the mall road. But there are many better hotels. And the Wi-Fi doesn't work. At all. It's not worth paying for it.

Very bad arrangements for visitors drivers.

This was the only wrong decision of my awesome trip. Pathetic Hotel, Below standard services, No power back up in a hotel with almost a dozen floors, the hotel staff is lacks customer service etiquette, All in all a total waste of money.
