In this blog post, I cover Palmyra, the all-day dining multi-cuisine restaurant at The Bristol, Gurugram. Did you know that The Bristol is just a few blocks away from where I live? Hailed as a landmark of royalty, comfort, and elegance, the hotel has over the years emerged as a pioneer among luxury deluxe hotels in Gurugram. Revered by business and leisure travelers alike and complemented with a variety of restaurants and a 24-hour coffee shop, The Bristol has continued to be… my preferred foodie destination for many years in a row. Last week I was thrilled to discover that one of my favorite restaurants at The Bristol — Palmyra — was going to relaunch after undergoing a massive revamp. To kick things off in style, Executive Chef Anil Dahiya hosted an exclusive Masterclass for patrons at Palmyra. The event is the first of many more to come at the hotel, as The Bristol has recently transferred managerial operations and activities to a new team of well-established industry professionals whose aim is to rehabilitate and restore the hotel, exploring its true potential. The first Masterclass by Executive Chef Anil Dahiya showcased his exemplary culinary skills of fusing international and Indian cuisines, a sheer delight for food connoisseurs like me who relish both Indian and continental food. Chef prepared an Italian Risotto with a surprising twist of flavors — lo and behold — featuring the Indian Khichdi. This was followed by an interactive session with guests, including food bloggers and other media professionals. The launch event concluded with a sumptuous buffet spread which incorporated choicest dishes from regions across the world. The refreshing Palmyra menu for the launch included some of my all-time favorites such as the Avocado, Green Apple and Orange Salad, Chicken Hawaiian Salad, African Chicken Satay, Asparagus and Cucumber Sushi, Avocado Sushi, Fish Teriyaki, French Cornfed Chicken in Wine Sauce, Calamari, and Pork Bailey with Smoked BBQ Sauce. A lavish spread of evergreen Indian dishes was also available such Paneer Khurchan Roll, Goan Fish Curry, Shaahi Paneer, Dahi Bhalla, Moong Dal Ka Halwa, etc. If you're someone like me who is experimental with food and likes to explore delectable cuisines from around the world, head straight to Palmyra. You can thank me later!
