Neeleshwar Hermitage

We stayed for 5 nights and had an excellent time! This is a small peaceful resort away from the crowds of the more well known areas in southern Kerala. The property is beautiful — well maintained grounds, spacious and comfortable rooms and beds, common areas with gorgeous classical architecture and a very nice pool. The beach is clean, easily accessible and as far as the eye can see only palm trees are visible. We were often the only ones in the ocean.
Everyone on the staff including management is courteous and friendly from housekeeping to servers at the 2 restaurants. We ate regularly at the beachside restaurant and especially appreciate the service from Avinash and another tall young man both of whom were warm and always ready to accommodate our preferences. The food was excellent, especially the fresh seafood.
We had several Ayurvedic massages and they were also excellent. We also went on a couple of excursions. We enjoyed the guided trip to a small agricultural village which offered a small glimpse of daily life including a visit to the local ritual grounds, viewing the harvesting of beetlenuts and a visit to a school.

We enjoyed a truly remarkable three-night stay in a Sea Villa at Neeleshwar Hermitage. From the stunning infrastructure to the pristine beach and the genuine cordiality of the staff, every element was exceptional.
A special note of thanks goes to Captain Ajeesh and his team; their attentive service and hospitality were outstanding and deserve high praise.
Our only suggestion for improvement concerns the spa. We noticed that sessions were consistently 10-15 minutes shorter than the durations listed in the brochure. It would be helpful to either update the brochure or ensure the full time is honoured. Aside from this minor point, it was a wonderful experience, and we look forward to returning.

We loved our stay at The Hermitage. Small and luxurious, it is a gem on the Arabian Sea. The staff are wonderful, the food is fabulous, the setting is amazing. I enjoyed the yoga every morning, and swam in the infinity pool. We cycled the small road to the Harbour, and walked the unspoilt beach. We saw a a large nest with a sea eagle guarding her two chicks. It is such a charming, lovely place.

We had a truly wonderful stay at Neeleshwar Hotel. From the moment I arrived, I was impressed by how peaceful and beautifully maintained the property is. The rooms are comfortable, the surroundings are serene, and the atmosphere is perfect for relaxation.
What really made my stay exceptional, however, was the incredibly friendly staff. Everyone was warm, welcoming, and genuinely attentive. Their kindness and professionalism added a very personal touch to the whole experience. Whether it was at the reception, the restaurant, or housekeeping, every interaction felt sincere and thoughtful.
I highly recommend Neeleshwar Hotel to anyone looking for a relaxing retreat with outstanding service. I would definitely love to return!

We had a perfect 3 night stay at Neeleshwar Hermitage in October 2025 — we just wish it had been longer! The service is impeccable — all staff are clearly well trained and and very friendly. The rooms and communal areas are gorgeous — clean and well designed and furnished. We especially liked the lighting of incense and candles in the evening. Location is excellent, peaceful and well located in northern Kerala with a beautiful beach and swimming pool. Finally, the food is excellent — small varied menu each day, showcasing excellent local dishes cooked to perfection. We really enjoyed our conversations with the chef — he is a huge talent! Thanks so much all for a wonderful stay — we hope to return soon!
