We reached Sha ri loum after almost a week long trip across east khasi hills and this place provided us the much needed rest. It is a beautiful home stay with amazing food and is warm and friendly. The decor is awesome and the rooms are cosy. The location is wonderful too and a great place to spend a few days in Shillong. Farida is an amazing host and her friendly demeanor made us feel at home. My daughter was had a stomach bug and Farida was kind enough to make khichdi for the road as well. She took good care of us and personally supervised our dietary requirements. I was served Poha for breakfast although it was not on the menu as I was on a gluten free diet. The food was yummy and the place was so warm that we spent a good deal of time chatting. The kids loved the place and made the most of the dining space and stairs
Farida also has a nice collection of Khasi folklore and books that we enjoyed reading. Whenever we come to Shillong this will definitely be our stay.

Very beautiful and cozy home. The guys preparing food and the manager were warm and friendly. A little far away from the city centre. But if you are looking for peace and quiet a wonderful place to go.

The place is nice and away from crowd. There is nothing much to do. You have to tell for food beforehand but staff is very nice and help you with food.

Sha ri loum… we fell in love with this house by seeing the photos and was very clear that we want to stay here during our Shillong visit. We were are group of 5 school friends along with our families, so total of 7 adults and 2 kids and hence booked the entire bunglow. The booking process was quite easy as we just had to do an online transfer of the token money to Farida Mam, the owner. While we were on our way to Shillong we received calls from Farida mam checking if thing…s are fine as there was a curfew going on. She suggested us alternate routes and places to visit so that we do not get into
trouble because of the curfew. The guidance of Farida Mam was very helpful for us during our stay there.
There are 3 — 4 staffs available who takes care of cleaning and cooking. Since it was only us in the house we had an option to order and eat anything we liked. We had chinese, Indian and even Khasi thali. Food was delicious and very homely. The staffs were very helpful and well mannered. Now lets talk about the house, the best part was staying in such a beautiful house with beautiful yet simple decor. All the furnitures, decors in the house had a touch of the north east. The beds, the sofas, the simple flower pots or plant pot holders… everything was so simple yet so beautiful and it shows the taste of Farida mam who is an interior decorator and has designed the house herself.

This is one of the best homestay I ever stayed. To begin with, it was easy to contact and communicate with the host. The property is exactly as defined, rather better than what we could imagine. Tastefully decorated, very comfortable and in lap of nature. Good and ample breakfast. Each room has a terrace/balcony to enjoy the views. Staff stays in the property outhouse and available round the clock. Driver food and accommodation available. Everything that you need. Considering peak season, what we paid was very reasonable. Stayed with my wife and parents, and would definitely stay here if I get to be in Shillong again.

Good place to stay out of shillong city life. Not very far from the city. Very polite and supportive staff (Bobby and other 2 boys). Food was very delicious but if your appetite is more please inform in advance otherwise they make limited food. Very neat and clean rooms. Must try homestay.

This house is located in a very serene locality. Kinda peaceful and calm. Enjoyed my stay there. Rooms are clean and beautiful. The only drawback is that u have to order food in advance. Other than that u will love spending time in this property.

We were a large family of 10 members, including children aged 8 to parents who were in their 70's, who booked the whole Sha Ri Loum homestay in Shillong. It had an excellent record for cleanliness, hospitability. The homestay is tucked away from the chaos of the city, yet easily accessible to all amenities. The host & their team where real caring, be it food, guidance, knowledge of local must things to do & we felt very homely. The 5 star amenities, including the indoor fireplace which speaks volumes about their warmth & affection towards the guests. We had the whole house, dining hall, garden space, ample parking space, all by our selves (unlike hotels, confined to one room), and everyone of family were highly indebted to this wonderful hospitality. Highly recommended.

A very nice and comfortable stay in Shillong. The place is surrounded by tall trees and looks beautiful. The staff are courteous and helpful.

Yes it's located about 3 KM from police bazar, in a peaceful area. It's good specious clean rooms with all facilities. Support stuffs were cordial, helpful and promt. Host, Farida was extremely helpful and will take care of a you really well even though she stays in Kolkata. We were having some problem with TV and we reported to Farida. She solved immediately. One who wants to stay away from bustling city centre and to enjoy a peaceful stay, this place is strongly recommended. We have not faced any problem in terms of Wi-Fi. It was working fine. You will be served with breakfast. If you would like to have dinner here you need to order in advance as they will go buy stuff and prepare fresh for you. Best thing to do here is you can take day trips ask the driver to drop you in police bazar in the evening, have dinner in City Hut Dhaba and come back at night. That's what we did.

Just the view is awesome! They serve local homemade food if you order well in advance. Khasi pulao was great. You wake up to a serene surrounding and the fact that it's on the outskirts of Shillong means that you can enjoy your peace.

Spacious room and clean bathroom but poor Wi-Fi and poor water supply.

Awesome hills around, beautiful room, smiling staff. The place is situated away from the city noise. 6 kms from the Police bazaar. Scenic setting, perfect for early morning promenade.

Location is away from main market & so it's pretty quiet & serene. Rooms are clean and spacious. Staff was cordial. Parking for a car a bit congested.

For those who like to spend a couple of days of peace and tranquility this is going to be a great option. With a backdrop of pine forest and the hills a short walk around will definitely do great to the oxygen level in your lungs. A Simple, clean and warm place to stay. A bit away from the city centre but great if you want to run away from the chaos.
