I warmly thank the manager of the Aurora Hotel for agreeing to transfer our reservation which we could not take (cause change of flight) to another date, knowing that Booking refused. Very helpful and friendly welcome.

My parents had to go on holiday to Iceland and of course the pandemic we know prevented them from doing so. Either or other hotels had the decency to refund them, only the one refused! This kind of unscrupulous behavior is not worthy of a hotel and therefore I do not recommend it.

Very, very bad service. In November 2019 I booked a holiday to Iceland for the first week of June 2020. The last night we would spend at the Aurora Star Hotel in Kevlavik. However, due to the Covid-19, the journey cannot go ahead. Two other accommodations themselves have cancelled all bookings, FREE OF CHARGE. The Aurora Star Hotel does not wish to cooperate at all with a suitable solution. Many people may recommend this hotel, but in case of calamities, such as with the Covid-19 virus, they stick their heads in the sand.

Very bad service from this hotel.
While other hotels gave us our money back due to cancelation of our trip due to covid-19 before we even asked, this hotel doesn't do anything, we just lost our money and nothing they WANT to do about it. They probably don't understand or don't care people aren't going to book here next time and in the end it will cost them and us money.

Clean, spacious, large bathroom, friendly and helpful staff and a stone's throw away from the airport.

The staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel was emaculately clean and the food menu was good. The best thing is that you would not realise that you are adjacent the airport. I would stay here again.

2 minutes walk to the terminal. And bacon in the breakfast buffet, not these meatballs/sausage cheap substitutes.

Good hotel in front of the airport. Expensive but not too much if you arrive with the car you rent to avoid taxi or bus. Correct restaurant and breakfast. Works to expand the hotel as of today.

This hotel is overpriced. It is convenient to the airport so they can charge a high rate. Couple of things I found should be changed: 1. The sheet and covers are worn out and thinning in many areas. 2. The springs on the bed are worn out, and uncomfortable. 3. They do not offer wash towels, and they only give you one hand towel. 4. I can understand why hotels can’t invest in towels, covers, sheets and mattresses.

Basic but decent breakfast. Great location nice enough room.

Allows you to take all morning flights.
This hotel is of the most classic with a bar and an on-site restaurant.
The Internet connection is far from great.

5 min from the airport, if you arrive or you come out in difficult times it is worth paying.

Nice hotel with friendly staff, which unfortunately, probably due to the location, is not particularly favorable.
But especially because of the location it is ideal for overnight stays before and after arrival by plane.
The Früshstück offers everything you need and starts early enough to be able to have breakfast in peace before you leave.

Location, Location, Location. The hotel is a short walk to the Airport and so it's perfect for early morning flights. Breakfast starts at 5.00 am and is very good. Hotel should have a sign with its name, as it just says Hotel and not Aurora.

Very Best location for an airport hotel. Good service. Free Wi-Fi. Clean and comfort room. Serve breakfast very early in the morning. All staff are very helpful. Will stay here again if visiting this country.

Hotel that empty’s a full loaded van of garbage in to Icelandic nature. Think twice before you book a night at this dirty hotel…

Very good beds. Tasty food at the restaurant. Friendly personel. Ideal for those with an early flightdeparture. Walking distance from airport itself. Highly recommended.

The room was very large, clean and the service was also great. The hotel is in any case recommended. The proximity to the airport is of course particularly good. The reception is manned around the clock.

Convinient location to the airport — just a 5 min walk. Clean, good breakfast selection, not just your average pastries, but hot breakfast as well. My complaints: we booked a room with 1 king and 1 twin and we got 3 twins instead; the TV didn’t work and they didn’t want to fix it til we left; the phone didn’t work to call down to reception to tell them about the tv; and the staff were not all that friendly. We tried to venture into town and the front desk man failed to tell us that everything is closed on Good Friday and major holidays and that taxi fare is double, so not only was it a waste of an hour, but it was also a waste of $65 in taxi fare. Overall, not impressed.

Very decent hotel and 100m from the airport which is very convenient when you have a flight to a schedule in the middle of the night. The beds are comfortable and the rooms spacious. The restaurant and bar are ok but a bit expensive.

Very convenient for an early departure, can be tricky in winter going from terminal to hotel. Food menu is limited, but ideal! Haddock fish and chips stunning choice. The downside or just unlucky! room 511 window had a defect and with the wind that evening was very noisy!

The renovated rooms are OK. A star. The location to the airport is great. Second Star.
Deduction is available at the service. The young ladies at the reception are rude. We had booked a room with two beds for three people but only for two people was bedding available.
To get my question for the child still bedding, there was only the answer that this costs 14 euro surcharge. We finally have a room with separate beds. Incredibly.
The bathroom has no heating. Uncomfortable in winter, the towels remain cold. Instead of the bathtub there is only a pitiful shower with shower curtain. For breakfast I can say nothing our flight was already 6 o'clock, but it is only offered from 5 o'clock.

Lovely staff when arrived 30mins late. Room was beautiful and comfy. Breakfast 5star! Wonderful self service and different choices to have.

Generally clean, but showerhead was broken. Convenience to walking to the airport and having your car returned and walking over is worth it.

This is a solid hotel option if you are staying for one or two nights in Iceland or if your departing flight is early in the morning. Keflavik Airport is a 40 minute bus ride/drive from Reykjavik. The hotel is a 5 minute walk from the airport terminal. The hotel itself is undergoing expansion so noise may be an issue. The hotel also appears to have undergone recent renovations. The room was clean, the molding, paint and bathroom tiles looked new. There was also a smell you would associate with fresh paint and new carpeting. The staff was very friendly and check in/out was smooth and efficient. The room was spacious and the beds comfortable. My pictures were taken after I had thrown my luggage on the beds, so don't fault the maid staff :). The floor was hardwood which makes sense for a snowy area and I did track in after being out. The breakfast was free and solid with a good variety of foods. It is definitely in line with what you see in mid range European hotels. The restaurant was very basic and functional. My only complaint was the shower. There was either low water pressure or the shower head had mineral deposits that interfered with the flow.

The hotel room was ok, but there was a strange and quite strong smell of shoe polish that lingered all night. The restaurant was worse than bad. Very slow service and when the food arrived it was either cold, a very small portion or simply not tasty. They seem to know all too well that there is no other restaurants at the airport.

Hotel conveniently located just opposite the airport, about a 5 minute walk. Check in was smooth and efficient, and as it was the first night of our honeymoon, the receptionist kindly gave us a complimentary bottle of sparkling wine! The room was basic, but clean and spacious. It included a little table and a television. The windows were very well insulated and kept any airport noise out. The ensuite bathroom was spotless and had shampoo, soap and conditioner. Beds were comfortable and Wi-Fi excellent. Currently, the hotel is undergoing an expansion, which you should keep in mind if you do not want to be woken at 7:00 by the builders. Breakfast was offered quite a few options, including boiled and scrambled eggs, sausages, bacon, cereals, fresh fruit, cheeses, skyr, meats and pastries. It was all fresh, but the scrambled eggs weren’t the best… Check out was quick and faultless. Overall, nothing to shout home about, but very convenient and comfy for a night.

Room was nice but it would have been better with a bathtub. The breakfast was great. Really nice if you have an early flight as it's so close to the airport.

Great location, with a five minute walk from the airport. Not the most luxurious, but doesn't need to be. The free breakfast and proximity to the airport are two definite pluses.

Surprisingly quiet for those at the airport. Airport within walking distance. Room was rather small but for one night perfectly fine.
Breakfast is getting used to, not very rich. Have a quick breakfast. Not to compare with a classically good hotel.

At 200 m from the airport you can easily access by foot. Small Hotel that is in works of enlargement, simple and correct. Clean, friendly staff.

Average hotel for an outrageous price. You pay for the convenience of being walking distance from the airport which is the best part. Clean room, good bed, friendly staff. Our flight was too early to have a breakfast that starts at 5am. Bring slippers and toiletries for the shower. Otherwise theres a soap dispenser on the wall, thats all.

Very close to the airport but far away from the city simple, very windy in winter time with a not so rich variety of food. They have big rooms and cheap Internet connection.

The only Hotel located directly at the airport of Keflavik. Rooms are large, Breakfast for Icelandic conditions is very rich, incl. Bacon, sausages and scrambled eggs. The only way to the Hotel from the airport could have been signposted a little better. For the storm-related failure of the Internet connection the Hotel can hardly anything.

Arrived on a late flight and stayed overnight. Check in was easy despite the late hour. The room was clean and comfortable. The beds were small, and the pillows were a little small too, but overall got a nice night sleep. Free Wi-Fi which was slow, but fine for checking email and light surfing. Breakfast was included.

High price, but 5min walk to the airport. Rooms modern and clean, the internet is a bit slow.

Hotel room and facilities rate 4 stars but we were let down by the breakfast. No hot food and suspect milk freshness. Window in the room wouldn't shut properly so had whistling all night (although that didn't stop us from getting a good nights sleep). Rooms were good standard (no milk for coffee though). Evening meal was very good as was the service — not much choice but if all you want is a burger, pizza or fish & chips it was very good.

Good, basic Hotel within easy walking distance of the airport. The rooms were compact but clean and warm and the showers and loo were again quite small but spotelessly clean. It was quiet where we were with very little noise at night — if any at all. Breakfast was lovely with a good choice of food to start the day.

Except for the grumpy front desk staff at arrival, the hotel was better than I expected it to be (for a hotel next to the airport that has no competition). Breakfast was nice, rooms were big, clean and had everything necessary. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was nice. Would recommend for people taking early flights.

The only thing going for this hotel is the proximity to the airport. Very expensive considering the amenities. Had to drag bags to the airport. An alternative for an early flight out is to stay at Alex's Guesthouse which provides drop off service and save $ as well.

Of the short stay for early departures is still ok, but nothing more. The rooms are clean. But for more than two stars, it's not enough in my view.

Great room. Reception could be better but okay. I'm juste disappointed in the fact that for an airport hotel there is no meal before 5a. M. When the flight is for 6:30 so we have to be there at 4:30.

Looks like it was just remodeled. Beautiful room, clean, quiet & warm in the dead of winter. Flight from Seattle got in at 6:30 AM. Which was my 11 o'clock at night. Hung around the airport for a while until it got light outside. Hotel is just a five minute walk from the terminal. Even in ice and snow. Although I arrived around 11:30am (with checkin not until the standard 3PM) the front desk person asked her manager if I could check in early since they had an available room. Ok. Very considerate of them since I was in dire need of sleep. Highly recommended.

We had amazing time in Iceland until our last night, ran into the worse hotel host ever, the young lady at the checkin deck was colder than the iceberg in Iceland! She won't let us check in unless we provide her with an physical booking confirmation on paper!

Surprised to see comments from others saying reception is nice because this was exactly the point I'd like to complain. The girl at the reception is really cool without any smiling so I don't feel we are welcome… Waiting to be checked in so haven't seen my room yet so leave 3 stars for now.

Ideal location, if you are departing early in the morning. The rooms are spacious and appropriately furnished. The dinner was very good.

Food quality looks like discount as for equipment and Wi-Fi doesn't work! But reception is very nice.

No courtains to hide the lightday — important when in summer there is not night, Wi-Fi did not work, bad quality of the meals.

The staff was very friendly and drove to the terminal to carry us to the hotel. However we were a big group and everyone couldn't fit in the car, so we decided to walk the 2 minutes needed to cross the parking to get to the hotel. The hotel and the rooms are modern and clean, furnitures were simple and functional. There is no wardrobe in the room to store your things: this is really your 1-night airport hotel, and it does it very well. Hot water has little of the distinctive Icelandic smell. The breakfast was OK, but not very varied, the good thing is that it opened very early for travellers (5am if I remember well), however if you come too late there will be no yoghurt left.
