Great view and nice staff.

The front desk clerk directed us to a nearby thermal spring and a route to the nearby glacier that we were able to get to in a small rental car 15 minutes from the hotel. We were one of 2 vehicles at this quiet spot where we were able to walk right up to the glacial lagoon for some amazing pictures. Beautiful setting on a family farm with an incredibly modern guesthouse. Breakfast is served in a common area and was excellent. Hot, cold, and fresh food. The staff was warm and welcoming. Conveniently located to thermal springs, glaciers, and the nearby fishing village of Höfn with its active city center.

Very nice place. Clean, nice rooms, excellent view. It is slightly removed place, outside of the town. Basic amenities but very pleasant place to stay the night.

Great breakfast included in the price. Hotel was very clean, but I will echo what others said about lack of ventilation. After a shower the whole room steams up. Also the heat seemed to be on even though we turned the thermostat as low as it would go.

Rooms are modern and small. Wouldn't say comfy — the floors are some sort of aggregate (smooth) stones that are great for a foot massage but not really comfy to walk on. Can't imagine this is easy to clean well… The decor is dark, which is actually a good thing during summer nights with no darkness. When someone showered, the whole room steamed up, despite having window open. Despite these complaints, our experience here was not a negative one. Staff was pleasant, rooms are seemingly clean, and we don't need more space: our one night stay was nothing to write home about.

Seljavellir Guesthouse is a pleasant, if basic hotel on the outskirts of Hofn. They offer a solid breakfast with your room. For more amenities, they are about 5-10 minutes away from Hofn which has restaurants, a grocery store, pharmacy, and Vinbudin. Staff were friendly and helpful. A very good overnight experience on our way around the Ring Road.

One of the best 1 night stays I have had! Northern Lights appeared over the hills behind the rooms, the rooms had everything you needed and were laid out brilliantly for 2 people with laptops with a desk, 2 beds and bathroom and not overly priced when you have the town of Hofn a 5 minute drive.

Friendly staff, rooms very light courtesy, furniture partly already very shredded, water from the shower runs out. Breakfast very good.

Everything was very clean, staff is the best! View is amazing. The breakfast was excellent and super fresh even in the end of the breakfast hours.

The receptionist was very helpful and nice when I checked in. She was able to get me checked in in just a few mins. The rooms itself is beautiful but one drawback is ventalation. There is none. When you take a hot steamy shower or poop get ready to smell the afterwards. There is windows which you can opened but that opens up for potential animals or people to peek in. Love the all included breakfast though! Had all food items you can think of… eggs, pancakes, bread, bagel, coffee and juice.

This Aurora House brings us heavenly enjoyment, CP value is very high, service staff attitude is very good. If you will come to Hofn, this farmhouse with breakfast is especially recommended.

Didn't get to actually stay here, but I wanted to say that they were very friendly over the phone. We got stuck by a closed road on the way to the seljavellir guesthouse and were not able to make it there. The employee who I talked to a couple times was very understanding, and was able to refund me fully.

We only need one word: perfect! The room was perfect with a great view. The breakfast was amazing! It was small but delicious. Never got a better breakfast than here. Next time we'll have a sleepover here again.

What a great guesthouse this was! The owner was absolutely kind and wonderful, she made us feel comfortable and at home! The decor of the rooms are outstanding — modern and functional. The washroom was quite interesting too, never seen anything like it! The views in the morning of the sunrise above the mountains was a beautiful site to sip some coffee and enjoy. There is free Wi-Fi and breakfast on offer here. Would definitely stay here again!

Very nice reception. A small dinner got there I had to lie down because of a heavy cold in the bed. Breakfast comparison. Well. Rooms well equipped and clean.

We stayed ther for three nights in late February 2016. The rooms were beautiful and very nicely decorated with an awesome bathroom and shower. The owner was incredibly friendly and did everything she could to make sure our group of nine people were comfortable. I would highly recommend this guest house. Great breakfast too!

We were the only guests the night we stayed, and the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. They helped us find an open restaurant and then had a full, hot breakfast for the two of us, even though we accidentally slept through the time we told them we wanted breakfast. She made eggs and pancakes fresh for us! The room was large, comfortable, and very stylishly decorated. Wish we could have stayed longer!

TIP: Reception is located in the middle of the building. Walk past the rooms to find it. This is a really interesting place, quite different to anywhere else we stayed in Iceland. They have basically built an ultra-modern motel style building in the middle of a field, a few minutes drive out of town. Glass-fronted rooms provide great views of the mountains, but also allow other guests to look into your room as they walk by. If this is an issue for you, request a room on the far end of the building. The rooms themselves are very swish and comfy — I felt like I was staying in a fancy hotel. Decent breakfast too.

Lovely guesthouse, all pretty new when we stayed with big rooms and bathrooms. Friendly owners and a good breakfast.

The room and bathroom are bigger than anywhere else we have stayed in Iceland. The curtains do a better job of making the room dark than anywhere else we have stayed. Very stylish room with a great view of the mountains.
