This was a great hotel. The view from the room was amazing.

Staffs are nice. Simple and nice hotel especially for Aurora night.

The staff was very helpful, the food was good and the atmosphere was relaxing.

We stayed at Borealis hotel for 2 nights. The hotel is cozy and we really enjoyed our time there. The location is quite nice and close to some sights and touristic attractions in the area. The staff was extremely helpful and kind to us. Every question or request we had was met with a smile by the staff. I recommend staying at the borealis hotel.

Nice place, close to the lake. Overall well maintained and had a comfortable stay.

Clean comfortable room, a short drive to lots of favorite tourist destinations. They even have saunas and hot tub. Highly recommended.

Great inexpensive one night stay. The bungalows are quite nice, spacious, and clean.

Very good place from which to visit the best sites in Iceland, as the only stick the beds are super narrow.

Price-performance is given. A lot of the complaining can expect for 50 euro the night per person incl. Breakfast No 4 star performance. Find these reviews useless.
The hotel is well signposted and is very quiet. We were greeted by friendly staff. The rooms are furnished in a rustic style and fit perfectly with the region. Breakfast included tea, coffee, apple-& orange juice and water as well as toast, bagels, croissants and bread. In addition there was cheese, jumble, jam, honey, butter as well as some fruits and vegetables. A good start to the day.
We would recommend the hotel at any time. The starry sky was particularly beautiful at night.

Tried to have dinner here with family / 2 children. Only option for them was a hotdog, which was served promptly, grilled and cut without a roll. And then we waited. And waited. And eventually left almost an hour after ordering. Busy? No. We were the first customers of the evening…

I wanted to say thank you to the hotel and all the staff especially the CHEFS the food was incredible. The Lamb you cooked was the best lamb I’ve ever eaten, but the food isn’t the main reason for leaving a review. This is where we had our wedding reception. A day before the wedding my wife and father in-law while driving their car to the reception venue to set up the decorations unfortunately came off the road and their car ended up stuck in waist deep snow and jammed on a …big rock. The hotel chefs came out to rescue them. They drove to collect my wife and father in law and took them back to the hotel and arranged someone to pull the car out and then had our car taken to the hotel for them. They did this for free On the day of the wedding weather was bad due to snow and winds and the police closed the roads. The Chefs left to get to the venue at 9am and only arrived at 5 due to the adverse weather and had to get a tractor to tow them all the way. Most other people would have cancelled or given up but it’s clear that their clients are more important to them than anything else. Lastly, because the weather was terrible the baker who was bringing our wedding cake got stuck up the mountain and couldn’t bring the cake before we even knew this, the Chefs had already found out and had baked us TWO replacements. They then told us the bad new about our cake but then said they’ve made us 2 so we get something to cut.

A lovely place to stay which is effectively in the middle of nowhere with great elevated views. Really enjoyable drive to get there. We booked a bungalow which was detached from the main hotel. This was a semi detached log cabin. A little noisy with neighbours but fine once everyone was asleep. Our shower leaked badly although it was a good shower. Staff were very attentive The evening meal in the restaurant was the best we have tested in iceland. Perfectly cooked and presented lamb. Yummy. Definitely stay here again if passing. Thank you.

Very nice Accommodation and absolutely mega delicious Food!

Sadly this Hotel situated in a beautiful location was the biggest disappointment on our holiday. I could not use the shower as it was very unhygienic. The Breakfast was not good either. Frozen bread and butter, which was used by customers, and was put back on the buffet table which made me stop eating all together. I did spoke to Morning Reception and have been told the oven is broken for a while and they are unable to fix it. A polite note would of helped. Would avoid this one.

What an amazing place — made even better by the wonderful staff. Every one of them helpful, friendly and caring. The food at the wedding was just fantastic!
I would gladly recommend the Borealis. To cap it all I even got to take some stunning photos of the Aurora on 25 Oct.

Its alrite. Room is ok but not sound proof, our room could hear the next door customer having a diarrhea and a crying baby from which room I hav no idea. In room Wi-Fi signal very weak. Food is good. Water smells like fart tho. Service is great. Friendly staff.

Cute hotel for a comfortable stay. Staff is so kind and welcoming! Beautiful hot tub. Nice diner in a cosy setting.

We loved this place! When you drive up you feel like you are in the middle of nowhere… but once the friendly staff greets you you soon relax and take in the nature. Do not skip the geothermal hot tub! It is so worth it!

The room is so small and a bit haunted, But the breakfast is good. Recommend for single overnight staying.

This was a great place, location, and service. Quiet rooms, quiet outside, and the lobby was very relaxing. Very friendly. Breakfast was a great spread except they ran out of coffee momentarily. Oh, cardinal sin. You could see the grumpy faces throughout the restaurant, then they had coffee and grumpies turn to pleasant, happy, talkative folks again. I hope to return on my next trip.

Nice quiet location in the country with a nice very hot hot tub. Lovely restaurant with excellent food and good breakfasts. Close drive to attractions. Fun lobby and bar. Very personable staff. Google maps does a ridiculous job of navigation to this hotel's location, so beware, especially if approaching from the south or southwest.

Definitely a fan of this hotel. Pretty good for the price. I really enjoyed their breakfast buffet. Place has an outdoor hot tub that I regret not doing. Very quaint and cozy bungalow. Very friendly staff. Highly recommended!

This was my second trip here, with the first being November of last year. Both times, my stay was fantastic with very personable staff. The food is excellent both at breakfast and dinner. Nice bar area for an evening drink.
My first stay was in the regular hotel portion and this time I stayed in one of the cottages. Both very good and comfortable with no complaints.
Great location with many attractions and sites within a very short drive. Far enough away from any city lights to make great Northern Lights viewing.
Some of the absolute best Aurora Borealis viewing was literally right outside the hotel or sitting in the hot tub, watching the Northern Lights above.
By far this is my favorite hotel after staying in 9 different ones last year.

Great little boutique hotel located a bit off the main road. Super accommodating host, he filled up the hot tub for us so we could try our luck viewing the Northern Lights. They also were able to provide my wife a gluten free meal option for dinner. There isn't another dinner option close by but luckily our dinner was very good and in line with other Icelandic restaurant prices. The room is very cottagey feeling (wood panelling), but it was clean and warm, no television though. The rest of the common areas are decorated with an eclectic style. It was probably our favourite hotel of the week.
