Ekra Glacier Lagoon

Nestled in front of 2 waterfalls, this booking liked by the whole group. We stayed in room 2, the room was stocked with a small fridge with complimentary waters, an electric kettle, French press and coffee grounds. The shower was large and had great water pressure. I would recommend this spot to others who visit the area. Be mindful there are not a lot of options for dining out nearby this guesthouse.

We explore Iceland by bike. Due to the weather warning and the fact that public transport was not running, we were unable to arrive. Ekra Glacier Lagoon made no concessions regarding the price. Very disappointing.

Booked via Agoda, hotel confirmed but never sent info on how to check in. Arrived to the property only to not be able to check in because I didn’t have the door code. Called the 24hr number multiple times, no one answered. Ended up stranded and sleeping in the car with still no response via email or phone call from the property.

Directions were unclear on how to reach but there was a cool waterfall you could go to but you had to hop the fence.

Great location with ample quiet and privacy. Stunning views. Good place to view northern lights. Good decor, easy check-in.
Some kind of restaurant service or breakfast in bed could be provided.

Great location with fantastic view of the sea and mountains. Behind there is also a nice waterfall. The communication was very great. We came very late and could not reach the guesthouse because of a snow storm and they managed to get us there. Also we were trapped the next day because the roads were still closed and we could stay longer then until almost evening when the roads opened again. This was very kind and helpful. The room itself was great. There was a fridge and water kettle. Bring some food because there are not much options nearby.

The place is near jokulsarlon and diamond beach, behind the property you can find a great waterfall where you can take pics without any crowds. Our room was on the first floor, self check in was fine. The room does not come with microwave and not many food options nearby. The room was very warm at night and quite muggy. Not many spaces for parking so if you arrive late at night you have to improvise your own parking spot.

The location of this place is great as it's close to Jokulsarlon and Diamond beach. Decoration is very tasteful and the room is comfortable.
It could use a table though and a bit more lighting in the bathroom.
I was quite surprised that there was no information card whatsoever in the room. It felt quite cold upon arrival, especially since it was mentioned in the confirmation email that they gave recommendations for food nearby. There was no such info on the 2 booking sites I looked at or the confirmation emails.
The self check in was fine. A card with some sort of info and a word of welcome would have been nice.
Other guests felt the same and were quite surprised with the tone of the response they got from the host when asking a simple question about a kitchen. (There is a kitchen but it's not a shared one. It belongs to one of the rooms. )

We had a lovely stay here for 1 night. We are a family of 4 so had two rooms. Fortunately we were allocated the two best rooms — rooms 5 and 6. The design is lovely, and it was very clean, The beds and pillows were very comfortable. It really is just a bedroom with bathroom, so don't expect much space in the room. But we had a lovely breakfast in the morning sitting on the balcony outside our rooms (with food we'd brought with us). There looks to be a beautiful kitchen, dining room and lounge room next to room 6, but I don't know who has access to it — we didn't, and I didn't see anyone in there. A restaurant nearby (Hali Country Hotel) was a great place to go for dinner.

Great location for activities at the Glacier Lagoon. New, spotlessly clean, and gorgeous bathroom. Our room was which has breath taking views of the surrounding. The room itself is rather small, with barely enough space to move around the bed. Since other guests walked by our room to get to theirs, we had to close the shade so couldn't enjoy the views. Hjalmar, the owner, was very helpful with proactively sending us driving direction and general info about the area. He was very quick responding to emails and texts when we had questions. This was an overall pleasant stay.

Stayed here a few days. I’m an amateur photographer and this was an excellent area for pictures.
Very clean and tidy house. The hosts were super nice and very responsive. My partner and I got lost on the way there and they went out of our way to help us find it.
The house is magnificent. It has a beautiful waterfall around back. Tons of gadgets to make our stay comfortable. We had a really sunny day and spent the afternoon eating lunch on the wrap-around porch. Overall, unbeatable stay.
