Lovely hotel with a great location to have a short stroll into the city centre and right outside bus stop 12 for all your trips. Bed and pillows were comfy, buffet was nice, staff were friendly. Would recommend to family and friends.

Lovely hotel and ambience in glacier lagoon location until I am sitting in the reception. I booked this hotel for 2 nights 6 months in advance but get the worst room with people walking outside looking right into our room with no privacy. We requested for a change in a room and they decided to remove our luggage next morning while we were out for a bit and leave in the hallway before they even assigned us a new room. Cherry on top is there is no manager to speak on site as it’s Saturday and it’s weekend. I don’t expect this kind of service from highly rated hotel.

Our first time to Iceland 🇮🇸. We we’re told by our tour operator that this was one of the best. He was right. It’s situated in a great place. Restaurant in house is perfect, food is lovely. Also in the neighbourhood of plenty more restaurants to choose from. The bay is a stones throw away, as is bus terminal. Rooms are amazing. Spotless. Staff are all so welcoming and helpful.

I have had the pleasure to enjoy this beautiful hotel while doing a mandatory 5 day quarantine. The staff is the friendliest, kindest I have encountered. They say there are 300 of us here but I have never seen another person or heard anyone. My view is the very best. When life is back to normal come visit and enjoy this beautiful hotel.

With Covid affecting everyone it’s disgusting to find a business that’s just focused on money. We had to cancel months ago but they were happy to keep payment (no refunds) and book our room out again to someone else.
From our 2 month itinerary they are the only company to behave in this manner. You are just a number to them. Karma.

Lovely hotel, staff very helpful. We got an upgrade and Lucy got a lovely surprise of cakes for her birthday. Very happy.

Warm welcome. Hand sanitisers in reception. Spotlessly clean. Adequate rooms in the tower with amazing views. Perfect location. There may be more things to find I like about this hotel but only having just arrived it is difficult to be more specific.
Maybe tomorrow after breakfast there will be more things to recommend.

Helpful staff, nice rooms, good breakfast choices and reasonably central location. Bus stop outside for tours or local bus company. Good food available in bars, handy after a long day exploring.

We stayed at Fosshotel Baron and we can’t speak more highly of the staff, all staff were friendly and courteous, especially the staff on reception, extremely helpful in dealing with any excursion problems because of bad weather and reorganising our airport transfer due to flight changes once again due to bad weather! The room was large, warm, comfortable and quiet, breakfast buffet was vast and of good quality. We would definitely stay here again.

We loved our stay at Fosshotel Reykjavík. The hotel was very clean and modern and the on site restaurants were amazing. Staff were always very attentive and helpful. Rooms were a little basic, which was a bit of a contrast to the remainder of the hotel and we had paid for a room upgrade with a tower view… which just meant we were higher up… the view from the room wasn’t great… and for a superior room it was basic. However, we literally just slept there and had the occasional meal and the rest of the hotel is far superior to the ones nearby. I wouldn’t hesitate to use this hotel again. I just maybe wouldn’t pay for the room upgrade.

The personnel were very hospitable. The hotel was very clean and comfortable. The food was good.

Really beautiful hotel except that our room view is obstructed by ongoing construction nearby. But I love that each end of our corridor has huge glass windows that provide beautiful views of the quaint Reykjavik all lighted up at night and even the magical Harpa light show.

Very clean hotel with comfortable accommodation. Quiet despite its popularity with large tour groups. Not able to comment about the catering as I didn't eat there — but I am aware that breakfast is included in the room rate so fuel up as food prices are high in Iceland! As to its star rating, my philosophy is that a hotel is primarily place to rest your head so it's minimalist decor (I am being kind) suited me but might be considered inadequate for those used to, or expecting something more lavish!

There is never a second chance at making a first impression. Upon arrival it took 5 hours for our room to be ready and then we were assigned to the wrong room type 《we had reserved a family room and were placed in a double》 which took 2 more hours to resolve. We did receive another room assignment, a lovely chocolate amenity and acknowledgement from the customer service manager 《with extreme apologies》. So our stay started off poorly but ended well. Iceland is beautiful, definately recommend visiting.

There’s no place for you to park your car and drop off luggage. A lot of other people have had this issue, so we ended up parking illegally just to be able to drop off our luggage. The majority of reception was not helpful, dismissive and were sloppy in terms of properly checking bookings. We made another booking to extend our stay, but they did not check properly and almost kicked me out of my room, telling me I had 2 hours to get out since new people were coming to use the room. My booking was supposedly confirmed 2 days before. The management had no apologies whatsoever.

Fosshótel Austfirðir Fáskrúðsfirði. The small fridge or minibar is inside a small cabinet, the interior design went wrong, the minibar is not plugged and the wire is locked inside the cabinet. Why not to take on this chore and make possible to cool some drinks and food in a beautiful and fairly new hotel. Plug in the minibar in room 1204 please even though you need to drill a hole in the cabinet back or side.

Best breakfast buffet in all of the Nordic countries we have visited. Peanut butter & Nutella! What could be better. How about chocolate powder to put on your cereal? Staff is very friendly, fast and helpful. If you are in Iceland — — stay here. Period.

Very good hotel with best facilities, nice large bath and good breakfast and rich with a wide selection. Great beer garden. It was only with the parking networks that I had problems. She.

Got stuck in Iceland when my flight was cancelled, and was put up here. Was treated amazingly well, the room was get with an amazing view of the ocean. Breakfast lunch and dinner was amazing. Highly recommend the lamb as well as the fish and chips. Transportation to and from the hotel was easy single bus, 45 min ride.

My visit was quite unintentional. Och wanted to return to Germany with Lufthansa, but the flight was 10 hours delayed due to technical problems. So we were given two double rooms (1004/1005) by Lufthansa with lunch — and dinner for three people. Our stay was wonderful! Great rooms and super delicious food in the main restaurant! The hotel is supposed to be quite expensive, but even if I didn't have to pay, I would also highly recommend this hotel to paying guests!

Lovely staff who were extremely helpful and spoke very good English. It was my husband's 30th so they arranged to have chocolates in the room which was such a nice and thoughtful touch. The rooms were clean and had lots of nice complementary toiletries. The breakfast was lovely with lots of choice. The beer bar downstairs was awesome and the staff were so helpful when it came to picking a beer for you, the bar is a small place though so I would recommend going early so you get a seat as it gets busy very quickly.

This hotel was awesome. The breakfast was top notch. Everything you could think of. Rooms all very clean. Shower superb. One of those power showers with a big head. Had a bath too. Alcohol very very expensive but same as the whole of Reykjavik.

Beautiful rooms and views. The upkeep was great. The staff were amazing and helpful. The only issue (if you can call it that) was the heater in our room kept clicking and made it slightly difficult to sleep. Besides that, it was a very nice hotel and I would recommend for anyone travelling to stay here.

We stayed at two Fosshotel's during our recent trip to Iceland. Both were well appointed with impeccable service. We treated ourselves to the suite in Stykkishólmur and the accomodations were sizeable, and the bath was absolutely Roman in its lavishness including a separate soaking tub and shower — — both of which were absolutely divine. The Fosshotel Vatnajokull was clearly the more modern of the two and had more modern amenities. While they advertise in-room Wi-Fi, we got IP config errors in both locations in room and could only pick up sporadic signal in the common areas — — Fosshotel could do with hiring a network engineer. And, despite the extreme comfort of our suite in Stykkishólmur, I did dub this the soviet Fosshotel due to it's more dated appearance, the fact that they shut the elevator on our wing down from 11 p. M. To 7 a. M. (due to noise), the lack of a real bar (small one and you had to ring for service) and for Wi-Fi issues. Altogether, though, the reliability of the cleanliness, the comfort of the rooms, and the service of the staff made us quite happy — — 4 stars!

A very nice hotel with very nice staff. The breakfast was also very good. But, of course, it also comes at a price. As a vegetarian, though, I finally had enough choice. In addition to normal Me, there was even rice, almond — and soy milk.
The room was nice, but we had problems with the shower: The water did not run properly. The ventilation was very loud. The Wlan is very bad.
All in all, however, we were very satisfied.

Great modern hotel with friendly staff. The rooms and communal areas are impeccably clean with good amenities. The breakfast bar has everything you could ask for and gives a good start to the day. The beer garden has an almost overwhelming selection of drinks, but the staff are very knowledgeable and can help you pick the right drink for you. It also had the tastiest hot dog I've ever tasted! The location of the hotel is great, easily within walking distance of most shops and restaurants, and has a bus stop right outside for any tours you might have booked.

The hotel is very nice. Room service is slow. But the reception is very friendly and the breakfast service is frankly good.

Pretty nice hotel. The night staff and bartenders are really nice, friendly and helpful. We had a few hiccups in our stay but that went the extra mile to make up for it and make sure we had a great time.

Modern clean and comfortable hotel close to the main street and 25 minutes walk to old harbour. Great breakfast selection and good bar with they claim the largest selection (20) of beers in the town. Beers are excellent but at up to £14 a pint in happy hour are pricey. Would stay here again.

The room was clean and beds were comfy. We had a better experience at Foss Hotel Glacier lagoon so our expectations were high. They serve a complimentary breakfast buffet which had good options even for vegetarians. The staff was very friendly.

Hotel very well located. Close to everything. In addition to the buses that take you to and bring you from the airport stop within metres of the hotel entrance. Private bathroom. Very good predisposition of the employees. Advisable to 100%.

Clean rooms and the bathroom has a radiator. Room is adequate in size as well. Not too cramp when opening luggages… however, if you have a car, you might need to pay for parking. There's supposed to be a parking garage beneath the hotel for 240 ISK/hr, or the surrounding parking area for lesser charge with selected day and time free of charge.

Concierge available and professional. Nice ground floor and breakfast varied and tasty. Room RAS But state of Commons that leave a little to be desired. A 15 minute walk to the old town. Special Mention for the beer bar! Wide choice of beer from local and seasonal breweries in a very nice setting. Careful though we're not in Munich. The prices are also typical of Iceland. 750isk (approx €7 20 cl! )

I will also go against the tide, but a structure of that level should include a zone for smokers, sheltered and not forcing the guests to go out in the freezing. I understand that smoking is not good for health, but being discriminated against without appeal does not seem entirely democratic.

Clean, comfortable bathroom with bath and separate shower. In room fridge and safe which is not always the case with Iceland hotels. Breakfast is fair. Good location next to most things.

Largest hotel in Reykjavik. Beautiful rooms, huge breakfast buffet. The only shortcoming is that it does not have a normal a la carte restaurant. Either beer cellar or bistro (both quite small and overrun). In addition, there are menu dinners, which is not for everyone. Here you have better options to eat in other fosshotels with fewer stars. Too bad, otherwise it would have been 5 stars.

Lovely friendly atmosphere. Cosy, yet modern and contemporary. Amazing location, delicious food and drink throughout, and one of the nicest looking building on the Reykjavik landscape — beautiful and yet very practical to help keep your bearings of this amazing city!

Poor. Incompetent staff, dirty and noisy rooms.

A really nice hotel, with lovely decor in the public areas such as the restaurant and beer garden. Can highly recommend the incredible selection of beers on offer in the beer garden along with their bar menu, and the staff are full of great recommendations. Only downside was the noisy fridge at night and a bobbly mattress cover, other than that I can't fault it!

The service at this hotel is unprofessional and no kind of customer service at all. I arrived very early at the hotel and was told my room wouldn’t be ready til 2pm. So since it was still breakfast time we decided to go have breakfast at the restaurant in the hotel. We was seated at a small space and I asked if I can be moved to another table. The lady brings us to a complete empty side of the restaurant we’re no people is sitting and says you have plenty space now. Extremely rude! I went to speak to a manager and he completely brushed me off and said you can speak with someone at the desk. The people so far on my arrival are extremely rude.

Stayed there for 4 nights in early November. Great location. Clean room. The bath room has heated floor — Nice. Good breakfast (included). The buffet dinner is even better. Staff were generally friendly but on the first day (checking-in) were not. We waited over two hours (past 4PM) before we got the room key. And for some reason, the wi fi would not allow you to make phone call (strange).

Only stayed here for a few days to try and see the sights. The location is brilliant, it takes around a 5min walk to get to the main strip. The rooms are very clean and modern designed, and the service around the hotel is impeccable. The staff are very polite and helpful.

Unfortunately, in the first room, the shower was broken. But a change of room then went very easy.

Fosshotel was excellent in many ways. The rooms were comfortable, firm beds, heated bathroom floors, refrigerator & coffee maker. There were two restaurants in hotel. We only went to one which was excellent. Staff were very nice & helpful. The hotel was walking distance to main areas for shopping, dining & seeing city sites. Excellent breakfast buffet included daily. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

Beautiful hotel located in front of bus, taxi, and siteseeing tour stops. The staff was great, the food outstanding. The breakfast buffet is significant, but crowded. The rooms are great, but can be stuffy if you're facing west. Views of the water offer extraordinary sunsets. I did have a problem with the cleanliness of my room, but they did send up housekeeping staff to resolve that for me.

Very nice accommodations; extremely helpful & knowledgeable staff. The beer place is very nice. The breakfast included with the room was fantastic! We didn't go to the Haust restaurant just because it was so expensive, but it looked nice. Absolutely recommend this hotel.

Comfortable hotel that's centrally located in Reykjavik. Plenty of street parking, and the hotel staff actually suggested street parking as the hotel's underground parking is "the most expensive in the city! And charges throughout the night". Great breakfast buffet spread with hot food, bread selections, salad bar, yogurt and dried fruits & nuts! Great view of the city skyline and the ocean, depending on which side of the building you are located at.

Huge apartment with well-equipped kitchen, clean large bathroom, comfortable king bed. Great location (could be noisy on weekends as our balcony opened on to the busy street). Very good breakfast.

Large comfortable hotel. We had a view of the waterfront which was lovely. Breakfast has a good selection. The bar also serves food. Parking in the streets nearby, not expensive. Good central location.

We booked this hotel for our honeymoon. On arrival we were given a tiny room with single beds which was not what we booked. A quick call to reception and they upgraded us to an amazing room that was like an apartment! Good breakfast selection but it does get overcrowded. Excellent choice of beers and wine available at the bar. Helpful staff.

Breakfast was crowded but good. The Beer garden is amazing. The rooms are a good size, but our room was filthy. There was blood splattered on the bathroom wall. You could tell the bathrooms aren't cleaned. We had a thick layer of dust and hair (not ours) I'm the tub, sink, and everywhere else. Would definitely not recommend this hotel. Come to have drinks and dinner in the beer garden and stay elsewhere.

We originally rented an apartment to stay at for our vacation, but the booking fell through. It was 1 AM and we needed a place to sleep 4, and this hotel accommodated us! Although they were booked, the kind lady at the front desk found us a handicap room that fit 4. The room was clean and comfortable, and made our stay in Iceland worry free! Thank you so much.

I'm so pleased we decided to book Fosshotel Reykjavik for our Icelandic holiday last weekend! Absolutely stunning views of the harbour and city with our Tower Business Suite and Tower View Twin Rooms on 10th and 16th floors — which were definitely worth paying extra for as we were treated to an incredible, strong Aurora Borealis display above the city and ocean one night — simply beautiful!
The location is only a few minutes walk from downtown which wasn't as bad as expected even through the worst snow in a while!
The hotel staff were very helpful and friendly with anything we needed. Heated bathroom floors, very comfy beds, good showers — all new so in great condition. Haust restautant and the beer garden bar snacks exceptionally delicious! Everything is new, modern and stylish. The included breakfast was ok, not as incredible as the rest of the hotel experience but good enough, however the BLT sandwich from reception was delicious for days we missed breakfast! Overall we abosolutely loved our stay here for 4 nights and even our friends from Reykjavik were impressed with the room and ocean view! Highly recommended!
