The young lady at the front desk was a delight. She gave me all the information I needed about the area (and specially places where I could have dinner — there was only one open at this time of the year). Room was decent size, Wi-Fi was good, bathrooms were clean. My stay was very comfortable. I also enjoyed the sitting area around the front desk — there was wine nice literature that I glanced through. I was here at the hotel just for one night (came in to take the ferry to Grimsey Island next morning and left Dalvík straight from the ferry stop after coming back).
The owners are absolutely amazing. We arrived very jet lagged with 14 students on an educational tour to find the booking agency made a mistake with our reservation. They found a way to get us all in for the night despite it being a holliday weekend and even bought us pizza and ice cream. They have some rooms that are more like a hostel (shared bathroom) but absolutely fine for students. He made sure all my girls were in one section and boys another. The next two nights we had rooms with private bathrooms. Just ask for your preference when booking. The town is adorable and so very safe. My students played soccer and basketball with local kids. I would love to stay here again.
