There are many positive emotions Left from visiting this fabulously beautiful place, if you visit it, you will never forget. Here you are charged with unusually strong energy. I Want to come back here. I highly recommend to everyone.

Nice hotel in the middle of nowhere. Great room. Excellent breakfast with local products. Nice view of the area. A bit far from everything, Hofn is a 40 minute drive away.

Definitely a sight for sore eyes! We were tired from sightseeing and driving from Reykjavík. It was by stroke of luck we were able to find a room in the area. The young staff was welcoming and accommodating. They genuinely enjoyed working there which can be infectious and give you the lift you need. The rooms seemed new and were super clean. The bed and linens were comfortable. The heating is too good; we ended up sleeping with the window open. We didn’t stay for breakfast. My only complaint and it’s minor was that there was an odd odor in the common area. My family and I would definitely stay again.

Nice hotel with good breakfast. Rooms are nice with basic amenities. Didn’t have any luck with northern lights but it was mentioned by the guide that it is possible to catch them If weather permits.

Under the impression they wanted me to hurry up and leave… 4 workers on their phones waiting for 10am to start cleaning rooms yet checkout not to 11. The monogrammed velvet oversized bed cover, together with a tiny chocolate on each pillow is kitsch. No control of room heating other than to open window. I did not mind this, but toyring Iceland in late January has seen me need to dry boots. Very isolated. Very, very expensive.

Room is big and warm, bathroom has underfloor heating. In general a nice hotel to stay. And a good location to see the north light. Darker enough without other light distractions. But the Wi-Fi is slow. You might need more time to share great photos over the SNS or to your family and friends.

Comfortable standard Icelandic hotel. Dinner restaurant OK. Breakfast needs some work. Rooms don't all have heater inside but there is central heating. If you are not too sensitive to the cold works fine but if you are someone who gets cold easily this may be an issue for you.

Great service by the restaurant staff. Was hungry at 4pm when my wife and I reached this hotel so we ordered a lamb burger as snack before dinner at 7pm. She showed good initiative by asking whether we would like to be served in 2 portions. Lamb burger was awesome and fries were good!

Simple country hotel without many facilities. Looks a bit old and rundown. The location is in middle of nowhere and is perfect for northern light hunting. We manage to see northern lights right after dinner from inside the hotel room.

The location and the service r just awesome. Otherwise the only awful thing is the price! Too expensive.

Super Hotel! One of the cosiest of our Icelandic voyage. Delicious food, good breakfast, great staff. Have seen our first auroras here.

We would stay at Smyrlabjorg again. The staff are wonderful and the food very good. A great family run hotel with fine hospitality.

The rooms are very tidy and big enough. Wlan is working perfectly. The breakfast is kinda meh. The orange juice for example tasted like water. The dining hall looks like a cheap diner.

Good and one of the few large hotels for this area. This was my second time staying here. Rooms are large and nice, very clean and staff made my bed twice (after a nap I took). The one odd thing is that the rooms don't have any heaters or AC, I assume they use floor heating. This does not allow you to dry clothing (I got soaked during the day and had very wet pants and coats to dry). Dinner food is decent, and no good restaurants nearby (the very good Bookshelf restaurant is the closest). Breakfast buffet is very good, I enjoyed the smoked fish and the unlimited espresso machine. The buffet could use a little more fruit, though. Very quick check-in, staff is friendly and very trusting, I was able to pick up my pre-arranged 7 room keys when I arrived, no awkward sign in procedure. Just grab the key and go to your room.

A great spot to stay. Our room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was great! Coffee and tea available at all times to hotel guests. Staff were very friendly. Our room didn't connect to the Wi-Fi but they have a few lounge areas where it worked great. Would definitely stay here again:)

In a country like Iceland where everywhere we ate well, here have dwelt in a depressing buffet with the cost for 3 people to 115 euros … You do!

Only plus the cleanliness of the rooms and their greatness. Hotel sad, depressing, poor buffet food and repetitive. Animals treated badly with spirited dog at a kennel with freedom of a few meters, maybe just one. Full of rowdy tourists. A farm but almost a hotel of Rimini is certainly not a quiet spot in this beautiful island that is Iceland. Sadness. The worst I've experienced!

Efficient, clean rooms and friendly staff. Rooms are nothing fancy but provide what is needed as a base camp to explore the surrounding areas, especially if you are planning a trip to the glacier lagoon, about 30min away. Definitely visit the restaurant! It is amazing! Recommend to try the langoustine (lobster) and other local specials.

Rooms clean, staff mostly friendly. Breakfast ok with free juices, but everything was cold (even the scrambeld eggs or the hamburger we had for dinner)

The location is great. The food is great. Rooms are comfortable.
