Lavender Circus Hostel, Doubles & Ensuites Hostel

Although it's on the third floor (which is a struggle after a whole day of walking), I would still recommend this place. It's clean, bohemian style, cozy, very friendly staff, nice rooms and a good bed. Mattresses are a bit on the hard side, but still good. There's no aircondition, but there are fans that regulate the temperature. The thing that makes this place great is the location, the staff and the charming look of the place. From the airport you just buy a ticket for bus 100E and get off at the first stop (takes about 25 minutes). The price is 900 HUF. From the bus it takes like 3 minutes to the hostel. We had a double room with private bathroom and this was perfekt for our needs. We were able to walk to everything we wanted to see. But there are loads of public transportation around the city.

Had seen this on Travel Man and figured if it’s good enough for Richard Ayoade, it’s good enough for me. I was not disappointed: super duper clean, loads of character, great location, friendly & helpful staff! Definitely take their restaurant and sightseeing recommendations. I had an apartment with a full kitchen, which I didn’t really use but it was nice to have the option. Yes, having to haul your luggage up 3 flights of stairs is a pain, but to me it was totally worth it to stay here. Highly recommend!

Great little place. Very cheap & very quirky. No lift & quite a lot of stairs! Excellent location for exploring. It appeared on 'Travel Man' & we were very impressed. Would return here again.

Hi! I ❤️ Lavender! Great location good price! I was a solo travel. I got a nice room for myself. Clean and very comfortable. I love the decoration. It is easy to get to Lavender from the airport via 100E bus. I think it is the first stop. Les than half hour (depends of the traffic) and it stops just two minutes walking to the hotel which is just perfect! Tram, metro, bus and troleys just two minutes walk. The service is great. I even got a list of the of the most go places in Budapest. Fallow the list! I went on May 16th for two nights. I am from NYC. I really recommend this hotel. Marisol, NY.

Great spacious apartments right downtown! It is definitely a perfect location, especially coming with 100E bus from airport, jump off at Kalvin Ter and you are there! We stayed in an apartment with kitchen — do not get confused, it is still a hostel. So nothing posh, already used, yet very cozy! Varienty of lights make the atmosphere, loved the overall vibe. Very popular with couples, so if you are on your own, might not find many new friends in common room. Staff was very friendly and gave lots of helpfull tips!

If you want to relax with comfort and don't want to pay a great price for nights, then you come here! Lavender Circus is a very cozy place which is located not far from the city center. Transport interchange is very convenient. The room has everything from designer interior to kitchen utensils. The staff are very and very friendly, and ready to help you in any issue, as well as recommend interesting places where you can order a delicious food. However, reservations must be made in advance, in 3-4 months, because the hostel is a very popular. For tourists who looking for something interesting — Levender Circus is exactly that place!

Great place. The room has everything you need, the rooms are very original decorated. There is free Wi-Fi. The staff is always ready to help, tell what is better to see how to get there. Near Metro stop. The airport bus runs directly to the hostel.

This place has been hand painted and decorated. Each room has been done in a different way so it has a unique feel to it. This kind off gives the place a very different vibe. The common area is a great place to hangout and interact with other guests. The employees over there are really friendly and helpful. The place is located close to a lot tourist places and has some really good restaurants and cafes in its vicinity. The hotel does not have a lift / elevator and this makes carrying luggage up to the third floor a big pain.

The ensuite room was lovely. Lovely friendly staff who were very helpful. The art coveringvall the walls is so special. Great locations and great value… would definitely recommend.

We had an absolutely amazing time in Budapest. Hostel location is perfect — it's close to everywhere you might want to go. Staying in Lavender Circus we experienced some inconveniences but reaction from the owner was, hands down, the most professional you can expect. I cannot recommend this place more and will definitely stay there next time we visit Budapest.

The guys in the hand. The furnishings are antique. But however pleasant. Sure, there is better, but a good rappirto quality/price.

Nice place. Yes, an old building but it adds to the charm of the hostel. All small, but in his special style. Designers have worked on glory. In General, the most pleasant experience.

The hostel is very cosy and informal. Staff excellent and helpful. Very particular and nice. If you go to Budapest you can't stay here!

We stayed in an apartment with private bathroom. Cool building with more charm than a typical hotel and the service was good, and check in at 12 is nice. Room was fun and quirky. If you're looking for something spotlessly clean, you may want to look elsewhere but we enjoyed it. Location is good too.

A little too grungy for the price. Stayed in one of their apartments not the hostel upstairs. Fridge didn't work and obviously hadn't for a number of years but was still switched on. Kitchen was old and decrepit. Bedroom felt like a student flat from the 70s. Bathroom was "funky" to say the least. Staff were lovely and helpful. Security was surprising good. No lift and the building like a lot in Budapest is in a very poor state. This place wasn't cheap considering the lack of facilities but was in a good location. Cute black texta artwork on walls. Try a cheap hotel instead.

Amazing young hostel! Beautiful DIY-Style, clean and comfortable! The staff takes care of all your needs, any time, the quarter is perfect! One if the best locations I ever saw!

Great hostel, reasonably priced. A bit difficult to find. Beware though, this is on the 4th floor and the building has no elevator! Strangely, they accept only cash and that too only HUF! I wish they were flexible and accepted credit cards/Euro. The rooms are all uniquely designed with crazy drawings all over! Ambiance is great!

This small but absolutely amazing and bizarre hostel was a surprise for us. You have to see it by yourself. Rooms are comfortable and everything is clean. The stuff is super kind. Only tiny downside is that there is no lift in the building to the fourth floor where the hostel is. Everything else was perfect.
