We had a wonderful stay at the hotel. The location couldn't be any better. There's a metro station just around the corner. It's peaceful even if it's close to the city centre. The rooms aren't too big, but we didn't stay many hours a day in the hotel room. The service was absolutely excellent. Every single time we passed a staff member, we were greeted very politely. I remeber a excellent staff his name is Mr. Erdei who has perfect service mind.

I stay several times a year. I'm on my job. The location, breakfast, service, restaurant and bar are beautiful. The ergonomics of the rooms leave much to be desired: sockets in uncomfortable places, the closet is narrow, the table is very small, the bathroom in some rooms are very inconveniently arranged. Expensive.

The review Again, I ended up in the same hotel. Why? Yes, because summer, and here is the most acceptable price and location. That's all about the good in this hotel. This time the breakfast turned into a minus. Employees can not cope with the flow of tourists. The tables are filled with dirty plates, there is no place to find. The food is the same every day. It is impossible to live here for more than 3-4 days. Problems with elevators. Sometimes I had to wait for 10 minutes for the elevator to arrive. Previously, breakfast was key to accommodation, now it is allocated a separate line in the invoice, so had to pay out of pocket, and the cost of 2400 forints for each breakfast. It was a golden breakfast, having lived here for 2 weeks. If I had known earlier, would have given it up and eaten in nearby establishments, it would have been much cheaper. The rooms were poorly cleaned, the bathroom was never swept, the floor was washed, everything was in the hair. Now it was definitely the last time here. Not a foot in here.

Either I'm so "lucky" with the room, or so everywhere, I can't say for sure, but in my room in the toilet the smell was like in a public toilet. There are no slippers. And if you live near the elevator, I do not envy you, this gnashing all evening and half of the night, do not sleep. Plus I note the breakfast, oh very good and the presence of a kettle and tea and coffee in the room.

What else would you rate an affordable luxury hotel within walking distance of a metro station, tram and bus stops and even the transfer bus to the airport stopping right in front of the main entrance? Amazing. The junior suite room came with all commodities and the staff were lovely too. Will definitely stay there again if I ever visit in the future.

Had a nice week here at Korona, the breakfast was a little bit noisy because of the renovations, but the food was delicious. We had meetings during the week, and I was so glad because of the young man who was always there to solve our problems, and brought us everything we needed, I think Daniel was his name, and I also want to thank his boss (i think also Daniel). He asked us about the whole week and felt really good, because this hotel is one of the few ones, which actually cares about their guests. Thank you very much for everything.

A very convenient location, all nearby. Subways, buses. There are restaurants and shops within walking distance. Rooms are small, but cozy. The hotel has an indoor pool. BUT it's very cold) Breakfasts are super. A huge selection of food. Friendly staff! Advise! )

It was very dirty in the room. Hair on the bed-black long, hair in the bathroom, hair near the shower, in the shower is dirty, and mold. Separately, I note — after cleaning nothing changes! Same hair EVER! The hotel is old. The furniture is tired. But! Everything can be forgiven and tolerated, if clean. This hotel IS NEVER more. Although breakfast was pleasant. Of the pluses — only the location.

We spent 3 days in the establishment the staff is very good at listening and very nice everything is fine except the breakfast the product are excellent but the Organization of the service bad no place more coffee but have a very Bo. N good continuation souvenir.

Overall an okay experience. The room was on a floor with renovated rooms, and the renovated rooms are very nice. But be aware that the majority of the rooms isn't renovated yet! The air conditioning didn't work as expected, but when setting it to the lowest temperature (maybe 5°C) the temperature in the room dropped to a decent 20°C or so. The breakfast buffet was good! One interaction with a hotel employee was very uncomfortable and unfriendly, but otherwise the staff felt helpful enough.

This hotel is ideal for business meetings, conferences short visits to Budapest. Room prices are descent, rooms have been recently refurbished. Many landmarks are easily accessible on foot, the Danube, the spas, museums, party quarter. Not accidentaly you bump into pilots and stewardesses, there is a straight road to the airport from here. Staff is novice though.

Nice and big hotel. Room small but clean. Internet connection is not so good. I didn't have any possibility to open my window. Breakfast was very good. Hotel very quiet.

At first we got an old and not renovated room which had a problem with the water stream in the shower. We complained and asked if they had another room for us and they showed us a room on the 8th floor, a small room BUT everything was new and looked good. We took it and it really upgraded our vacation! We had the best time, the service at the hotel is supreme and breakfast is good and had a big variety of choosing. The location of the hotel is more than you could ask for, located on a really sweet street with restaurants and caffe’s, close to everything you Might want. Thank you Mercure Korona :)

The staff was very friendly and helpful, the room was clean and the breakfast was very good.

I was blown by the staff. Among the very rare Mercure who upgrades you before arrival, going from the basic room to the best they have. Very accommodating, an awesome welcome gift and a hand written note. I would loved to be welcomed like this everywhere in the accor group as a gold customer. The rooms could do with a refresh but it's currently underway so in a few months this hotel will be even better. There's a lounge accessible for certains rooms with privilege/premium service. The breakfast in the lounge was good and the view from the bridge where the lounge is located is great. The swimming pool is a bit far to reach from some parts of the hotel, necessitating 2 elevators and also felt a bit small. The location is also great with easy transportation anywhere in the city.

I have been to this hotel for a Congress of experts in connection with my trade in industrial thermodynamics. The Organization of the rooms, the breaks and the meals was of quality. The location of the hotel is convenient in a central area close to the lively streets where you can dine specialties of the country at reasonable prices. I liked the restaurant paprika, where the welcome is nice and the dishes are easy to spot (photos) …

Eclectic hotel, very central. Excellent breakfast with both local and international food. The largest assortment of bread you can imagine, although on weekend days at around 9.30 there is absolutely nothing left to choose. Rooms are different according to level, junior suits are big, you have a bathrobe, slippers, grooming kit, dental kit, free water and 2 Nespresso capsules/day but in the standard rooms there is nothing of the above mentioned. There is a bar in the lobby, a gift shop and a traditional shop. There are taxis upon request at the reception. Within walking distance there is a shopping area and right across from the main entrance you'll find a good irish pub.

The hotel is in the heart of the city. The staff is always in touch and for the guests. Hopefully, this comfort will add a new design, work on which go in the way.

So. Probably not your usual Mercure hotel. Reading other comments, you’ve probably noticed some recurring complaints — unmanageable AC, hot-as-hell rooms, little to no light in the rooms, and possibly others. And despite the comments from the hotel management on getting those fixed, it doesn’t seem to have improved much lately. Proof being I faced these inconveniences as well. With that being said, you would wonder “why the heck did this lad put a 3 stars rating?! ”. Well, there are obviously upsides as well, and here they are: really nice and friendly staff, particularly at the reception; very good location, both for leisure and work (buses, trams, metros, and even the airport shuttle across the street) ; and the promis of a (needed) renovation. Let’s hope the latter improves on the downsides. And just as a side note — some rooms are a bit tiny (read a comment about that as well). Mine was amongst those. See for yourself.

The hotel is located near Calvin Ter and is easily accessible from the airport in taxi, about 25 minutes. The location is quite central and walking you can also get to the center. The property is not Nuovissiama but it is well kept, the staff is courteous and granted me a free room upgrade, this allowed me to take advantage of the ' my Bridge ' area where I consumed breakfast and a free snack in the afternoon. In the evening I also took an aperitif in the lounge bar which is very nice. During my stay I also tried the spa which has sauna and pool, small but nice.

One of the worst experiences of my life. After talking to other people I am more and more convinced that some areas of the hotel are destined to those offers that can be found on the various search engines. Discouraged. Being a 4 star I was expecting a lot more also regarding the treatment. Rooms with many problems, from light to air conditioning.

Gets a big ‘meh’ from me. Comfortable beds, but not terribly clean. Nice bar, but not great breakfast. Room was too hot and it was hard to control the temperature.

Rooms have been a bit over the years. Despite three lifts you wait a 10min, also that you could not open the only window in the room I do not look good for 4 stars. The breakfast and staff made a lot of bets because that was really top.

Very close proximity to all interesting places of historic value including stations very friendly staff helpful and a definite must to stay for any visitors to Budapest.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. Some drawbacks with cleanliness, for example, the toilet paper was finished and never lifted the empty cardboard roll, nor did they stretch the sheets properly. The rest pretty good.

Unfortunately it was not a positive experience as: the cleanliness of the rooms leaves to be desired every time I had to solicit the staff to give a fix, never saw that at 2pm in the afternoon they still have to do the rooms. Another sore note are doing the renovations upstairs we were not advised by anyone and by 10.00 at 5:00.00 Hammer in the head. The proximity to the centre and the public transport stops.

Room was very comfortable, beds for me and my wife were too uncomfortable, could not really sleep during the entire stay. The breakfast was good.

I can't say I hated it, because it was fine. Just fine. However it was only half way, we found toe nails in our bed the first night. The room was boiling hot, 24/7 with no opening window so we couldn't sleep. And we only had a heater so couldn't do anything in order to cool down. However, the reception staff were lovely and helpful, sorry to leave a bad review, but the room was so half way it was impossible to enjoy it.

I stayed here 3 nights. The staff were very friendly and the rooms were very good.
Hotel attached to public transport, Metro and tram are next to the hotel entrance, to get to the central areas (shops, Jewish quarter or historical points) it is recommended to take public transport.
I think too expensive all the extras, minibar with water at €5 a bottle, parking at €23 per day, everything that is not included in the room costs a lot!

Really nice! Travelled around by myself from the hotel. Metro is right outside the front door, literally the stairs down to it are 10 seconds away. Really nice hotel, bar and restaurant. My room was clean and well kept through out my stay. Will be visiting again.

The entrance and the bar are OK, the room was horrible: dark, terrible beds and uncomfortable bathroom. The cleanliness was impossible to assure by the lack of light.

The hotel has aged. The team is not very friendly. The Check out is terribly long and poorly organized. It is rather expensive for rooms not very large.

Rather low rating for the hotel, as the normal standard rooms do not in any case correspond to the 4 star comfort. Rickety beds, downstairs bathroom, no light in the room and quite small.
If you still can upgrade for €25 per night and the comfort room is claimed, the room will meet the 4 star standard again. You really have a nicely furnished room with a great bathroom. In addition, with this upgrade you are entitled to a better breakfast in the glazed bridge with a Class View and in the evening you are entitled to snacks with drinks also on the glazed bridge. Staff and service is also great.
We would stay again but would definitely book the comfort room.

At checkin, you wait forever. I was fortunate enough that my snake was just closed after 15 minutes of waiting, and I was able to re-position myself at another back. The rooms are desolate, color in the bathroom leaves and the joints are mouldy. Only the really first-class breakfast has saved the hotel a second star. I will avoid it in the future anyway.

We stayed 4 days, the experience with the hotel was not good, the people in charge of room service entered the room on two occasions without knocking on the door and without being put on the sign to pass and find us half-naked inside.
On the other hand the days that entered did not clean the bathroom and the bed was with wrinkled bottom sheets and the poor quilt placed (only had it spread over the bed undone). I understand politics with the theme of not changing the sheets; But at least they should make the bed right.
On the edges of the pool are oxide circles because it is metal, which is unhygienic.
The location is good but it is the only thing.
Especially the lack of intimacy with the theme of the door.

Good location Very nice room.

Few things first : Rooms are relatively small and the wardrobe space is modest as well. Rooms facing the traffic might get a little loud (they have police and ambulance sirens on steroids in Hungary) inward facing rooms might lack some of the views but might be quite. Doors are getting slammed by a hydraulic arm — woke me up a few times. Out of tree elevators only two were working and once during our stay two elevators were out of order. If you got this far, here comes the good news : Location is great, metro, tram and buses are all just outside. Taxis are constantly parked besides the hotel. Reception staff are always more than one, helpful and responsive. Breakfast is served in a tastefully designed and well equipped dining room. They have a good variety so that no one can complain and the service is excellent. Rooms are made up every day, amenities refilled and wet towels changed. We asked for bathrobes — got them in an instant, no problem. MyBar within the lobby area looks trendy and has also got really nice service. Have been before, came back this time and hope to visit again.

The best thing is that it is quite central. The room was small and the air conditioning was not working. The breakfast buffet, I was expecting a lot more from this hotel chain of Gala Accor hotels.
They are not even to leave a bottle of courtesy, on the contrary, almost €6 a bottle of water of 33cl.

Staff were very rude. Rooms were not clean. Did not have towels when we arrived and when we asked for some the staff kept saying they were surprised there was none, implying we had taken them. Even charged our card without permission for tourist tax which we had already discussed with them and concluded that we had paid for this at the time of booking. On the last evening there was a drunk man (not a guest) by the rooms for at least 30mins. We asked reception twice to have him removed for safety reasons. When they still had not attended to him we approached reception who were not interested in the slightest and could not explain how long or why he had been there. Very unprofessional during our whole stay. Would not recommend to anyone. Avoid at all costs as they do not care about your comfort and certainly not your safety!

The hotel is very central to the city centre. There are many restaurants and bars in the immediate vicinity. The staff is friendly. I found my room a little small. Besides, I miss a few little things what other hotels of the same category in the city offer, such as free water in the room and various pillows (hard/weich)

Friendly and good breakfast. The rooms are OK. You have everything you need for a few days.

Central location, convenient for public transport and tourist, elegant structure, spacious and clean rooms.

Run-down hotel. Upon arrival we were handled by a trainee-receptionist who constantly went to the back office for answers, therefore the check in took over 20 minutes. Don't get me wrong, It's OK to be new at a job, but the an experienced receptionist should have stayed near hear and help her out. In the room, the bathroom door could not be closed and the floor was full of the last guests hair which I had to clean up. This hotel knew better days… The parking was an absolute disaster — not only a narrow parking, but when we were going down another car was trying to come up at the same time (it's a one way parking). The only good thing I can point out is the location of the hotel.

Absolutely loved this hotel. Staff is very dedicated and wants to provide the best experience in a hotel stay. Helpful and very polite staff that made my stay delightful. The accommodations are really nice and the hotel is very modern. The rooms are comfortable, with sufficient space for either business or vacation trips. The breakfast and snacks at the bridge are delicious and provide a great street view of one of the most visited area of Budapest.

Wi-Fi speed is early in the morning 4 ms Ping and 30 Mpbs in both directions. Very good and useful. Otherwise old hotel with good service.

I found myself well both for cleanliness and for the kitchen.

Smell of stale carpet and moldy and encrusted tiles in the bathroom, it might be enough to decide to better invest your own money elsewhere, but this is not limited to our bad experience… Unexplained difficulties with credit card payments, repeated operations and transfers, thus creating problems with availability (note that we had 2 cards and that worked without any problem for all the stay in restaurants and shops). They promised the packed breakfast for the last day as included in our offer, but at check out they had forgotten…
Watch out to let you charge meals on the room because the accounts don't come back at all.
There are definitely more renovated and noteworthy facilities to spend their money in Budapest because here apparently they are scraping the bottom (in full high season most of the rooms was free).

We were put here because of our delayed flight. The lunch consisted of past withe the sauce from a can. At 1 in the morning we were woken up by a fire alarm. The internet speed could be better. Rooms were fine, a bit small though. The bathtub was badly designed, since there was a lot of water from the shower getting to the bathroom floor.

Fast friendly check-in with reception staff. Nice clean, well presented room. Good housekeeping. Bar staff, restaurant staff all friendly and helpful. Check out was easy. Bell staff took car of taxi and luggage. The area is very convenient. Food, cash changers, shops and services all around the hotel. Buses, metro and trams outside the hotel front door! I've stayed here more than 20 night so far. Another good stay!

The room is spacious and the bedding comfortable. It's clean, but the housekeeping should not be done diligently as we found a lawnmower under the armchair near the window. The staff are welcoming. Breakfast is plentiful. There are many choices, but no real orange juice and these are automatic machines that make coffee. The breakfast room is huge. It's a little canteen.

This is average three star hotel. The room needs proper cleaning and some repair. Hilarious prices of the mini bar, 5 euro for a bottle of water this is outrageous. The location is great, city center and plenty of resto nearby. Price — quality 3 out of 5.

The location of the hotel is very central and one is in the city on foot. The rooms were tidy, however, I found the beds very small. When is busy in the hotel you can get accustomed instead of the elevator to use the stairs. Otherwise, you can set up on a wait of several minutes.

I love the city, and the hotel is very good, even though the single rooms are chiquititas.

I have to say the rooms in this hotel left a lot to be desired. The only outlet I could find was used to power the single lamp in the room, which itself barely provided any light. They also just generally felt very dated. The bar area and lobby are pretty nice though. The location is very central so I'll give a star for that. Also, the pool and sauna area is actually pretty good so another star there. Still, I think you could get better bang for buck elsewhere in Budapest.

Hotel very well located in the heart of Budapest. The metro is 2 minutes if needed. Basic but comfortable room… this hotel is provided with a swimming pool but we have not taken.

The communal areas are pleasant but the beds are tiny, as are the bathrooms. Breakfast had a good variety of things to offer but most were disappointing, for example overcooked eggs and tinned fruit. Wi-Fi was OK though.

Not four star hotel! Was there three times (company paid), I would never come back. The only highlight is its location.

Myself and six other family members spent four nights at this Mercure Korona. We were all impressed by the hotel. The location was spot on, it was so handy for all public transport and also the main streets with restaurants, bars, shops etc was only a stroll away. Our rooms were very comfortable and clean, there was no noise at night and breakfast was good too. I found all the staff very friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed our stay and we will definately be back. What a beautiful city.

Staff was nice, location is great although the other hotel Mercure city center has better location! Both rooms we got the toilets had stains of stool with hair everywhere in the bathroom. poor AC!

We spent 3 days here. The quality of the services were very professional, the breakfast was delicious, rooms were clean and people at the reception were very kind with us.

Friendly staff, good location, free Wi-Fi, but my room was a bit old, and it smelled of smoke (even though it is a non-Smoking room was). In addition, the heating (in January) doesn't work.

Stayed at the Mercure Hotel between 13-16 Sept2014, in Room 471, opposite the lifts, adjacent the main road. The Traffic noise was deafening. I must say the standard was poor, especially the breakfast serving where eggs on toast was just not available without seeking them from the galley staff. The chef expected everyone to have the pre-made oily scrambled eggs. Toast was just not available, without asking and a prolonged delay. The dinning area staff were curt and rude. This may be a "cultural' difference. Our friends stayed at the Sofitel and they said it was really good compared to the Mercure. I would not recommend it to my worst enemy.

Great location, walking distance to many sites. It's not the warm and cozy type hotel but the location balances it out.

The location is good, nevetheless this hotel had some big inconvénients : -The room are very noisy. (you won't be recovered in that place for sure! ) -The breakfast buffet is very simple and the table are always not cleaned by the staffs. -You can smell the cigarette in most of the rooms. (from the AC conduit) -This Hotel too busy to be confortable. I would not recommand this place.

Lovely hotel and my only regret was my stay in it was not longer. They had ran out of the room type I had booked so they had upgraded my room when I checked in. Beautiful room with lots of space and very comfortable. The Wi-Fi was a bit sketchy and would occasionally drop me for no reason, not to mention having to login via a webpage each time was annoying (much prefer just a WEP locked Wi-Fi especially for mobile devices). But the hotel was beautiful space and well located in the city. Definitely would love to return and stay there again.

Lived in the building across the aisle, the arch on the third floor. The room was hot from their parents, and I have a cold and no air conditioning is not saved. The device number is good. For safe and minibar pledge did not take. Cleaning in the room — well. In the early morning departure to the airport for our group is not calculated for breakfast, but someone woke and ran to the bus porter and gave breakfast. The room has a hairdryer, minibar, make a shower gel, soap, shampoo and cream. Convenient! pillows and mattress Cosy hotel. Good Breakfast (ham, sausage), only the coffee was always cold. Lived in the building across the aisle arch on the third floor. In the room of the parents was hot, and I have a cold and no air conditioning was not saved. The rooms are good. For a safe and a Minibar collateral is not taken. Housekeeping is good. Departure early in the morning to the airport for our group did not calculate Breakfast, but they are someone woke and porter ran to the bus and gave Breakfast. Room features: Hairdryer, Minibar, give the shower gel, soap, shampoo and cream. Convenient! pillows and mattress.
