I recently went to Guatemala with a group of missionaries from the USA, the Maryknoll Missionary Organization and Catholic Relief Services. We stayed at the Modelo Hotel and I simply loved it! The gardens are beautiful and an amazing, quaint and historic place to stay in heart of the city!

Stayed here for 10 days and loved it! The staff and owners are amazing and so friendly! They’re always willing to help and be there for you! Any if them are willing to talk. The breakfast is amazing and the hotel restaurant/bar is delicious. I’d recommend the pizza or the comida típico! Id recommend this place to anyone in Quetzaltenango! They have large and small rooms, but all are cozy and clean! Love it!

Very good service, the hotel operates from 1892 and has a wide range of old Utileria which gives an interesting look to the hotel. The rooms have TV, bathroom with hot water, breakfast included in some packages and very good Internet service. So if you are visiting in Quetzaltenango I invite you to book Hotel Modelo.

Cozy historic hotel. Exudes charm and a wonderful and well earned patina of a hundred year hotel. Originally a home to the descendants of the current operators. Would have given it a 5 star but bathrooms need updating. If you don't mind this, Hotel Modelo is a great find.

I loved the hotel I went with my family 2 weeks ago excellent food, cute decor, and we definitely have to go back because we missed so much to see and the apartment is beautiful thank you for your hospitality all the time the cold was hard but that is the way it is living the experiences super recommended.

I just called to check if they accepted puppies inside the premises, but the way I was treated by the lady was very unpleasant. He was neither courteous nor kind to ask for information. Definitely the first impression is quite important, and with the bad service only by phone call, I can already imagine what it will be like inside the facility.
