Hotel is very close to the city centre. Eating is very good and you get civic cuisine. It is not very modern, but it is enough to stay comfortably.

We were four on our bikes. The staff was very friendly, the breakfast plentiful and good. The rooms shown on the website look very good and seem to be very individually furnished. However, we were a bit disappointed by the cheaper rooms. Very small and Spartan, shower and toilet across the hallway. For cyclists who only stay one night, you can do that, but for a longer stay you should take some extra money for the better rooms. In order to avoid disappointments of the guests, photos and equipment of the cheaper rooms on the website should also be recognizable.

True before three weeks there. Everything was great. Have celebrated there birthday day everything was ok.

The worst hotel at a great distance!
Toilet in the hallway. Floor in the room crooked and shaky — you think the floor is right after, mattresses through. Furnishings from the 60s, the wallpapers fall from the walls. It smells like someone died in the room. The room is filthy, cobwebs everywhere. €60 the night, since the pictures and the text on the HP promised something else.
Only the bed bugs are missing and the horror room is perfect!
This rating, of course, is, like all Google reviews, also my subjective opinion!
Addendum: Breakfast was economical but OK.
As all the passengers had a bad night, the complaints were reported to the owner the next day. Unfortunately, this reacted very aggressively. On the HP of the hotel it is advertised that all rooms have toilet and shower and modern pictures are shown. Beware fake! It's a scam for me. Owner's answer: "You can write on the internet yes what you want! … "and… "What do you expect for €60?! " Unfortunately, the customer is not king here.
Addendum 2: Since all fellow travellers on different platforms have rated the hotel badly, the owner now tries to save his reputation with lies. We were not informed in advance that our rooms are furnished without toilet and shower! It is also different on the homepage!
Very sad, with kindness you could have reacted to the criticism of the rooms.

Great family hotel, nice rooms, good food and care. All at a very reasonable price. Can only be recommended again and again.

Room as in the 70ies's socket in the rooms and the one with the filthy I can only confirm. The external toilets and showers are absolutely filthy and dirty as in the room just superficially cleaned.
2 stars just because the clerk was so friendly.

Everything great, food top and cheap.

A small cosy hotel. I am on a professional trip every now and then you can highly recommend this hotel. I like to come here. Also some reviews here can not quite understand, acknowledged well. Everyone has to decide for themselves. Comfortable rooms and very nice guest people.

A small hotel in the heart of Arnstadt.
The prices are reasonable, good breakfast and a very nice staff.
Since I am now and then in the hotel guest and already describe myself as a kind of regular customer, I recommend the hotel quiet conscience.

Unintentional time jump back to the 70s we were looking for a little bit cheap for one night. The reception was friendly. Our rooms were in an old part of the hotel on the third floor. There is no elevator. Our room (No. 14) Obviously had no modernization since the 1970s GDR times. Toilet and shower were not in the room. These we found across the hallway in another part of the house. A transfer to a modern room was not possible because of a big celebration. The breakfast was quite reasonable. Unfortunately the checkout was very rude. Our comments and criticisms were overlooked and overheard, because we would not have booked a luxury (Dz €56), we could not expect it either.

Hospitable and friendly reception. Beautiful historic building in historic town. Nice and large room. Very reasonable price. The furniture: an eclectic mix of styles. Private parking lot, good for motorcyclists.

Super hotel located in old town, fabulous kitchen, clean rooms, family was very helpful, breakfast in the elegant dining room, will recommend each case next.

The Hotel is probably since the middle ages, and it impresses particularly with its location and its charming design. The equipment is, depending on the room, modern to simple and the food is good, also the price-performance ratio is right. But one Detail was for us (family with three children 13, 5, 1) in the three days in the context of a family celebration (75. +80. Birthdays) totally unacceptable: a real Feindsehligkeit against smaller kids, which in the case of the Senior owner simply yelled at and outside were sent. In the kitchen was from the owner then loudly declared that the society would have been due the participating 6 children are not "civilized" behavior. This is especially important for a born in Thuringia and the absolutely shocking, even to the house itself, with its historic closeness to Bach marketed. The same children, over which the owner and the Senior owner of a little polite to complain, have at the reformation the Kantatengottesdienst in the Church followed, without any complaint of the present there!

Arrived late and hotel was closed. Rang the doorbell as described in reservation but no one opened. Next day the owner was very rude and refused to refund the payment.

Super operation and good Breakfast. The room was big for 3 people and there was a big TV.
