H+ Hotel & SPA Friedrichroda

Hotel was absolutely inflexibel to reschedule a booking due to personal circumstances, despite multiple stays. I will never book here again, no service whatsoever.
Despite the reaction from the Hotel below, there was plenty of opportunity to reschedule the booking, even at a possibly higher price (although there were still rooms available at the same discounted rate). No communication, no questions were asked, just a turn down on my request to reschedule… funny how the only reaction comes when you leave a negative review. Not client-friendly.

Nice hotel, in quiet location surrounded by trees, but with good car parking and only 5 mins walk into town.
Room was clean and comfortable with nice touches that many other hotels do not normally provide, like refrigerator in the room, and sufficient wall hooks on the bathroom for towels, wash bags etc. Plus drying line in shower for wet swimming costumes.
Breakfast buffet was particularly good with large selection, including cereals with heathy options with and without dried fruit and several milk options like low fat and lactose free. Similarly large selection of breads, fresh fruits and yogurts, cheeses and cold meats, hot selection with 3 types of egg, plus beacon, sausage, and frikadelle, also sweet alternatives such as croissants and pancakes.
Pool and sauna area were also very good with a feeling of quality that looked well maintained. The sauna selection was good with 50, 70, 80 and 90 deg. Saunas all clearly marked plus two different steam rooms, a plunge pool, different shower options, foot bathes, and several different quiet areas.
Only down side was Friedrichroda itself, which has very limited section of restaurant alternatives if you want something other than traditional hearty fried brauhaus food.

We stayed three nights. The hotel is situated next to the Kurpark in the town of Friedrichroda, located about 20 km from the city of Gotha in the German state of Thuringia.
The town is a health resort and the Ludowingerquelle, a certified water source, is situated at the park. A kurtax of EUR 2.10 pp and day is levied. In return guests receive a card, giving free and good public transportation in the area and discounts at some of the attractions. It took us less than ten minutes to walk from the hotel to the Friedrichroda tram stop with good connections to Gotha or Bad Tabarz.
The hotel is large and includes a spa area with additional offerings for guests. Our room was spacious, very clean and reasonably quiet. The bed was very good and our room also had a nice sitting group and a safe. We only noted that no coffee maker was available and that the bath room was slightly outdated with a tub, but everything was well maintained and nice.
Breakfast was included in our rate and very good with a large selection of both hot and cold items. We had dinner in the restaurant one evening and it turned out to be good, although we are no fans of buffet meals.
The staff at the front desk was really excellent, giving good information about the local area. Also the restaurant and housekeeping teams should be commended for very good service.

Everything you need to enjoy and relax without leaving the Hotel. Nice buffet for dinner and breakfast.

Great location, the suite we stayed in was perfect and the SPA/pool area was just what we were looking for.

Plus: good location, beautiful hiking trails around, nice pool and sauna, good breakfast, clean rooms. Enough parking space. Gluten-free bread was available upon request for the breakfast. Nice personnel.
Minus: A bit old fashioned rooms, no kettle to make a tea. I missed a small refriegerator too. Allergy info was not available in the buffet.

Loved it. So relaxing. Good food, good room, good staff, very clean and comfortable. Perfect place to relax after long day at work. Would stay again. This is my 3rd H+ hotel experience. I'm developing a loyalty towards these hotels.

Location is wonderful. You can go hiking and do a lot of activities outside. You have a spa and wellness at the hotel but it's very old fashioned and it's very noisy in the relaxing area. The rooms are old fashioned, too but it's ok for 2-3 nights. What I liked most is the fantastic breakfast and dinner buffet. Quality and the dinner ideas are very good, like "Thüringer Abend", etc. I would recommend it only if you get a very good price otherwise it's expansive.

Went for a Spa day and have to say both my wife and I were really impressed. So many different places to relax, so many different saunas spa areas to try. We had a lovely diner too. Definitely recommend going. Looking forward to going again.

The hotel staff were excellent, very helpful and incredibly polite. The room we had was larger than others as we had a balcony, but it was one of the biggest rooms I had ever been in. Most hotels have a cook, judging by the meals served here, they have a Chef, a very very good one. The Gym has some decent equipment, but lacks some up to date nautilus equipment and has absolutely no free weights, so any upper body workouts are nearly impossible.

Great wellness holiday, great food.

A great hotel which has a super spa area with a large pool incl. Has various massage nozzles. The sauna area is Top 👍 with infusions every hour. It doesn't matter if it's breakfast or dinner, it's very varied and there's something for everyone. The whole hotel is a green thread 😍 Everything is very clean and very friendly and helpful staff. Surrounding places ideal for excursions for young and old 😉 there is not a single point that would be negative in any form.

All around a highly recommended hotel, very clean, very friendly, wonderfully located, wellness was pure relaxation. We had a sister's holiday and will definitely be back with our families.

We spent our fourth anniversary here.
Very nice place, including sauna & pool. The staff is friendly, accommodating and always there when you are needed.
The evening buffet was delicious and plentiful.
After the great breakfast buffet, it's time to say goodbye.
Maybe we'll stop by the sauna again 🤔
