Very nicely located, great food and nice staff.

We had a great family weekend at the Ahorn Berghotel Friedrichroda.
We were very satisfied: service friendly and great, everything well maintained and clean. Top mattresses!
Two small notes on improvement:
1. Dog costs 15 €, which is a bit overdrawn, but that gives nothing, really nothing except a water bowl at the entrance for dogs. At the price would be desirable: bag dispenser on the premises, dog shower at the back entrance, and water bowl in the conservatory when people eat 😇
2. Lactose-free products: there is only lactose-free milk, no dessert at dinner (except fruit), no cottage cheese or yogurt for breakfast. This is really no longer up-to-date, so a little more offer would really be appropriate.
But otherwise: keep it up 👍🏻 we had a great stay with 10 people.

Very unculent early bookings. Had to detonate a trip 2, 5 months before the start of the trip for health reasons. Do not get the deposit back. Even a conversion to a voucher was not granted to us… Very sad and anything but recommended!

We were here for the 2nd time and we really like it. The food is mega tasty and sufficient, it is also filled again and again. The rooms are fine since clean is enough (I don't want to move in and you only stay there for sleeping) By the way, the area is also great! Die Lage des Hotels ist super, toller Ausblick bei gutem Wetter. Es gibt einen großen Parkplatz hinter dem Haus für 8€ Tagesgebühr. Die Zimmer sind sauber und ordentlich. Jedoch sieht man auch, dass fast Hotel schon ganz schön on die Jahre gekommen ist. Es riecht muffig, die Türen sind noch die alten von vor 30 Jahren und nichts ist lärmschutzgedämmt. Aber damit kann man leben, dann man weiß ja wo man ist. Tolle Außenanlage, großer Spielplatz, 2 Spielzimmer für die Kleinen und Pool, so dass die Zeit auch mit kleinen Kindern gut um zu bekommen ist.

It's a pretty nice place for nature and active sport lover. It's surrounded by beutiful forest and you can also find many amazing natural spots. All faculties in hotel are also good staff are very friendly but about food I am not much sure whether it justified with taste or not personally I didn't like. Rest all things like indoor outdoor swimming pool were good. And one last thing it's a best place for children if.

Were there, prima short holiday we liked it very much gladly we come back hehr. The offers for children are very child-friendly our grandchildren very much liked. Rich offer at breakfast and dinner, drinks could be cheaper. Parking fees are also free in some hotels. For this I get 4 stars.

We were already for the 3rd time at the Ahorn-Berghotel Friedrichroda and can highly recommend it. This time we could even use the outdoor pool. We also liked the leisure terrace very much. As always, the food was very good and plentiful, both in the evening and in the morning.

In this hot summer the swimming pool in the house was also very great. To the outdoor pool which closes at 18 did not make it. Is included in the price.

It is a very nice hotel with a great view. Unfortunately, there is no minibar where you could cool a few drinks, the bathroom is small but sufficient. At breakfast is capable of expanding with the selection of sausages and cheeses and fish. The staff is super nice ahead of all the staff at par.

Very nice area for hiking. However, the trails are not particularly well signposted. Despite cards, we got lost a couple of times. Friedrichroda has become a very beautiful town. The mountain hotel leaves nothing to be desired.

Station atmosphere while eating at about 600 people in the room. Who likes it. Not me.

It was our second stay there on the occasion of a multi-day chess tournament. Inside, the house could certainly be renovated at some corners and ends. But it was all superbly organised. The food was very good. The play areas are very nice and varied. The indoor pool is large and clean. What is a pity is that the outdoor pool does not open earlier in fine weather.

Something in the years come! Not always everything was clean… Inconvenient detour around the Hotel, to the Parking lot. Too expensive! Especially the prices for the drinks! MA used to forget already-paid Parking cards (7€ per day! ) to give back, so that a drive is possible and you have to re-back up the mountain to the Hotel at the front Desk… However, good leisure and sporting activities in the surrounding area also from the Hotel directly in and around the Hotel!

A very nice hotel in the middle of the Thuringian mountains. Especially recommended for families, great offer for children. Food is great! The bathroom is still a bit more expandable, as is the design of the hotel. For teenagers there is also a rare offer available otherwise top!

We can book a wheelchair room in the short term. The room in itself was nice. We had the problem every day that the shower did not expire. If you have reserved a table, it has been beaten. That we had to complain every day. It was a short break to relax, but that was not really successful.

Nice location, nice hotel, unfortunately I was with a conference there and didn't had time to enjoy more the view or the pool but I plan to come back and stay longer.

I was here with a bigger group. I liked it very much. The hotel is a partially refurbished GDR — Bau. The rooms are very clean, the balcony is not used due to the weather. We have been visiting the hotel for years. And don't have enough for a long time. The hotel has everything you need. And does not allow for quality.

We were now in the hotel for the second time. Also this time we were greeted cordially. We are constantly working on the state of renovation, which is very good for the house. The children's Christmas present is very poorly organized. The room is way too small and full of retirees. No room for families.

Our room with extra bed (3people), and also the hallways lower floor could use a new, fresh painting. In any case, we need to think about the really outdated doors on this floor. They hang and grind so badly on the ground that they cause unnecessary noise when opening and closing. It is also a pity that there is a smoking room and a children's playroom on the floor. Very clean and staff was friendly and professional. Limited TV channels. Breakfast buffet had a large selection and food was good. It would have been nice to have an iron and ironing board in the room but you can check out irons at the front desk.

The average age of the guests is likely to be 60plus… Pensioners are driven by bus. Supposedly it is a family hotel — only a lot is wrong in the area!
I am disappointed by the highly overpriced and family-unhappy high beverage prices.
The staff comes almost exclusively from Hungary and work as an EU foreigner here for 4 months, which is sold by the hotel as an "Erasmus project".
For the money I will soon go somewhere else.
The location on the itself is nixht bad and the swimming pools are fine.

The place is a bit antiquated but clean and comfortable enough for a few days, assuming you're not hanging around all day. If you primarily want to have a place to sleep while exploring the area during the day this will do fine. There are various food options. The steak restaurant at the top is very nice. For breakfasts there is an extensive buffet with decent options. What I liked best: do it yourself sandwiches and waffles with waffle makers and sandwich press. There is also a mini-sized buffet for kids! Big hit with the little ones. I'd give dinner buffet a miss though. Not very good, limited choices and the staff removed it fairly early in the evening.

The free public transport ticket enthusiastically.

With our daughter, we were already at their hotel in Oberwiesenthal. Here there was a professional child care and we could go two hours in the sauna as a parent. We were already 4 Time in guest in the Hotel. Used to have 1, 10, 9 and 4. Floor. The rooms were different in their setup and in the House. Rarely have to be in such a bad Hotel our vacation spent. In the room can be "comfort" not talk. In the whole building there was no air conditioning.
