Hinterland is 100% recommended to those who love nature and peaceful atmosphere. I experienced genuine kindness from the staff and other guests as well. The atmosphere is peaceful enough to enjoy reading while drinking a cup of coffee. The kitchen and bathroom in the room and common areas were very clean. I was able to have a relaxing time after hiking.
We camped here and loved it. The facilities are excellent, with hot showers, communal kitchen, indoor social area etc. The staff were great and speak excellent English. There is some basic food to purchase if you want to cook, and you can order fresh bread rolls, croissants etc one day in advance if you want to make sandwiches or have a fancy breakfast. The thing we loved most was sharing the communal areas with the resident housemartins — they are really cute.

Beautiful complex of the main house (comfortable sleeping accommodations) the barn (kitchen and common room) and tiny houses on trailers (some still in built) at the very end of the Rathen kurort. Mine was only a one night stay while cycling the Elbe trail but would not hesitate to stay there for a longer period as it's in a great location for hiking, cycling or just chilling enjoying the incredible views. Train station nearby and the hosts are very friendly and helpful.
