Hotel STEIGER Elbschlösschen Rathen Zeitgeist Rathen by STEIGER Hotels

A super nice hotel. Very friendly staff. Simple but beautiful rooms we had one with Elbe view not the side but just in front of the view is bombastic. Since we liked it so much we extended by 2 days, although with a room change again thanks thanks for this trouble-free change. Due to Corona times, breakfast times are staggered. We had from 08.30 to 09.30 was already full, the last two days we had from 10.00 to 11.00 there was more relaxed. Thanks also to the staff who were very friendly attentive and had everything in view as soon as something was empty.
The pool invites you to swim again in the evening, but also to relax, the utensils for it are available in every room.
We had no problems with the Wi-Fi.
The car is opposite in the ferry parking lot. You don't have to worry our car was there for 12 days and nothing happened. The parking ticket is unlocked in the hotel before each exit, but since there is such a good connection by the S train to all sights we did not need the car at all. Or just on foot or by bike. We had our Ebike with what you can also place well in front of the hotel because it is quiet there you don't have to be afraid of your bike.
The ferry costs 1.50 euros per person for guests and 3 euros per person by bike.
When the rock stage is reopened we will definitely come back.

The location cant be beaten, and the swimming pool was great as well. Parking is at the other side of the river but would have been nice to know before arriwing. It would also be nice to have been told that hotel payed the parking. Unfortunately we were checked in by a young girl without any knowledge of even basic english and that is not OK in a 4 star hotel. We found out later that the rest of the staff spoke english without any issues. The rooms are nice, but very old fashion in style. Breakfast was average. We stayed in a room with Balcony which is not to be missed with the view. Great hotel, but compared to the price I expected a bit more. You are paying for the location big time.

Very friendly staff, good Restaurant — and in any Hotel we have got so far, so good Breakfast (and we know some. ) The "Elbschlösschen" is our favorite hotel.

Clean rooms, very friendly and helpful staff. Sumptuous Breakfast Buffet. Restaurant with very tasty cuisine. We have had nice days and are sad to leave but very satisfied.

We can recommend the Elbschlösschen is very. Were already very often here, meis 2x in a year. Very nice rooms, good beds and nice staff. Also the Breakfast leaves nothing to be desired. In the Saxon Switzerland can be very beautiful walks. We are looking forward to be in March 2020, with friends a guest in your house. Friendly. Greetings.

Arrived by car for a two night stay with breakfast. There is no parking adjacent to the hotel but there is a small public car park on the outskirts of the village and a much larger car park on the opposite side of the river. If you choose the latter you will need to take your luggage and cross the river using the pedestrian ferry which crosses every few minutes and costs 1 euro each way per person. The hotel owner will provide a card to cover you parking costs.
We received a very warm friendly welcome English speaking lady who was very helpful and assisted us with our parking arrangements. We would strongly advice you choose the larger car park and take the river crossing as parking on the other car park is very confined and you risk getting you car damaged.
No tea and coffee making facilities and no air conditioning in the room, TV with foreign channels only and a comfortable bed.
The room was clean and tidy with a good shower.
On the night of our arrival we were running short of time for dinner due to confusion over the parking but did manage to sit down in good time before the end of service. The waitress did not speak very good English and was clock watching which made us feel uncomfortable and rushed.
Not a great choice of food on the menu and poor waiter service (had to set our own place) and she forgot our drinks we had ordered.
The breakfast was the usual continental style buffet fresh and plentiful served in a nice dining room.
