Excellent European cuisine, menu, top professional cooking & serving staff. Good value for money with special lunch menus weekdays with court yard dining in Spring/Summer. Recently renovated rooms & toilets. Friendly multi-lingual family owners. Close to train station for access to most major German cities and Paris FR via connections in Kaiserslautern DE. Always a pleasant experience!

Room clean, first night the heating did not run, ice cold, but was immediately turned on then. Breakfast well, eat very well.

Very tasty food. 4 course menu-price very good, from fish to meat everything and at the end still a brilliant dessert service excellent… you can only recommend!

This place was a nightmare. I called weeks before I arrived to ask if there was a fee for parking or parking at all? I was told the parking was “free in the back. ” The parking was “free” because they had none. There was only street parking or we were told we could park down around the corner by the railroad tracks. Yeah no thanks. There is no office or signs telling you where to check in. I had to walk around the entire building till I found a random door with a small doorbell that said, “Hotel”. A woman comes walking up — not with a smile or a “Welcome” — but a terse “Yes? ” as if I’ve interrupted her day. I say I’m checking in all she says is, “Name? ” then leaves me standing there while she goes inside and gets a key. She gives me some blunt instructions on breakfast and walks away. The room just continued the nightmare. Nothing updated since the early 80s. No air-conditioning not even a fan. It was in the 90s. If you left a window opened you got eaten alive by mosquitos. I stayed there 3 nights and not once did I get any new towels at all. Unbelievable. Internet was hard to figure out and there was no one helpful to ask. The one person I found to ask said, “It’s free you just connect” but that wasn’t true — the screen has to come up to let you accept the terms. This was only possible with a phone or tablet not a computer (I was staying here for work and needed my computer to have access).

Lovely atmosphere — this is a great choice for a special occasion or if you just really enjoy good food. The four course menu featured well executed continental cuisine with some slight German influences. We will definitely go back here.

A very fine restaurant. Very friendly staff. A small but equipped with excellent dishes. Always something out of season. Portions are good.
Value for the price is really 5 star.

My family and I traveled to Germany to visit places that my Dad and Mom lived at when they were in the Air Force 53 years ago. We stayed at Hotel Kolbl and had a wonderful time. The owners made us feel at home and the chief was unbelievable. The owner helped us get in contact with the old landlord where we lived all those years ago. The owner went above and beyond to help make our visit wonderful. If you want to get the feel for Germany you need to stay at Hotel Kolbl, you wont be sorry.
